Anyone notice how IQ seems to be positively linked with appreciation for good game mechanics?

Mechanics being what they are is literally the only thing barely holding this game's population together, seeing as how there are no good maps or game modes.

Can you imagine playing Mordhau for 2.5 months and then placing the blame for population decrease on the mechanics of the game rather than the lack of content elsewhere? I imagined being that fucking stupid for a second there and I actually stopped breathing so I'm just impressed Botas is even still here with us.

What I don't understand is why out of all people archers are mocked. Everyone with half a brain cell can top the score board with a halberd or zweihander and somehow still bows are considered a crutch.
You guys running around with heavy armor and Boodlust are the real pussies and you know it.

The guy running around with bloodlust is outplaying people. The guy with the bow is simply aiming well.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahahahaha

The only difference between these two is subjective classification to what an "outplay" is

So you think beating someone in melee combat with all the mechanics therein is less impressive than shooting a bow at someone where the only thing that determines if they die or not is how well you aim and when they happen to mash RMB? intredasting

I think it's complete bullshit that more and more games are removing family sharing. I family share games with my wife and her to me so we don't generally have to buy more than one copy of a game unless it's something we want to play coop or whatever (like Borderlands). This game specifically, we both got, but the practice of removing the feature is getting alarming.

I love how all these fucks are defending this too saying shit like "JUsT buY ThE GaEM BrUH!!!"

Apparently ya'll forgot that back in the day when you bought a game, it didn't matter how many computers you installed it on, or with console, how many consoles you played the game on. You bought the game, you could take that bitch over to your friends house and install it on HIS computer if you wanted to!

Now, you buy a game, even if you're in a family, you have to buy a separate game for EACH person who wants to play it, and this is doubly true if you want to play coop--because even with Family Share, you two can't be on the game at the same time.

Ya'll need to wake up. Gaming industry has been pinching us like Mafia overlords for YEARS now, and you lie down and let it happen! Why defend this crap? It's like games no longer having local multiplayer on consoles now. It's just a bid to force families to buy multiple consoles if they want to actually enjoy a game together!

Ya'll defending these practices make me sick.

I get something needs to be done about cheaters, just going to reiterate that. I get it, especially in a MP game like this one, which is why I try to cut Mordhau some slack. That said, removing family share is just a crappy bandaid to the hacker problem and the devs need to get their shit together and stop doing banwaves then unbanning the people banned in the first place!

The problem is that we ban a person's account, but Steam lets them share it to another account and get around our ban (or vice versa), making it completely impossible for us to deny them access if they've been found cheating. We are powerless here as it's only Valve that can change how this system works.

So why can't Valve just put an agreement in Family Share that if one person gets caught cheating, the game is banned on not only the main account, but any accounts family shared as well? Doesn't seem that hard of a thing to implement.

why the fuck are you asking him why valve isn't doing something lmao

Carrots were purple, white or yellow 1100-1600 AD. Modern carrots are manmade, cultivated vegetables that don't exist in nature as is every fruit and vegetable you find in the supermarkets.

Archery should not ruin the melee experience. That balance needs to be maintained.

Muh muhlee cum bat. What balance? ahhhh!!! the one were archers are garbage and just food for melee fags.

fuck off.

It's primarily a melee game, my friend.

Archery is only in there for a bit of medieval variety, but it's not even bad.

I like playing archer from time to time and consistently do well.

When shills say that i know they are crap even in close combat.

I'm sensing a lot of limp dick energy from you small son

This game looks like it has great potential but it feels terrible. And when it comes to "high level" play yeah its R* watching someone flick their mouse so the zweihander suddenly becomes lightning fast and nearly unchamberable, or when they crouch and twist to make their character model bend unnaturally out of the way and then pop straight back up and attack.

Game was fun for about 10 hours but its now so saturated with the no life gamers who can play for hours every day that its no longer reliably fun. I honestly regret buying this game.

"People are better than me because they practice the game and I don't like it"

Literally your logic. Either gitgud or play casually and don't complain because obviously some people will be better than you if you're a casual player. The game is designed with a high skill ceiling in mind and its tailored to reward people who have the desire and patience to learn.

Think of it this way for the "bright" individuals who are saying stop complaining, grow the fuck and realize that this is not the kind of thing any first time game dev wants to be associated with, use your head. Anyone should be able to see how quickly the internet can turn against a game or dev, just imagine the news title "new game title promotes racism" even if it isnt it wont be good.

So even for you ToLazy4Name i would assume you like the game enough to want it to have an actual life span, so if this game just turns into one giant shit storm how long before it becomes the next sacrificial statement?

This forum has years worth of us shit talking the devs in worse ways than players shit talk each other in-game. Everyone and their mother is complaining about "muh toxicity."

Not a single article has been written about any of this, because the gaming sites that would publish such articles are too stupid to even look at an indie game like Mordhau. They only pay attention to bigger games because complaining about bigger games is how they push their agenda.

Edit: also IMAGINE BEING MAD AT WORDS HAHAHAAHHA

The whiniest and most pathetic hide behind "free speech" when their values are trash.

So frequent they are so ashamed to speak what they actually believe they do it 'ironically', in a giant shit-storm just as bad as the more "genuine" racism. Really, your "platform" for free speech is to spam racial slurs on a FPS? How pathetic can you get.

If you say so. I believe anyone can say what they like. Words aren't violence. I even support dumb fucks like you missing the point. I don't say racist things, but if someone wants to spout shit, go nuts. No one who ever called me nigger had an impact on my mental state, it's only words. I'd take issue if they punched me in the face, but nigger is a word that only has as much power and you give it and Americans give it a fuck tonne.

When I was a kid the advice given was : If you ignore the bullies they get bored and move on. This is true in this instance as well.

For fucks sake, have some fucking fortitude you weak fuck.

I was OK with archer pre patch and they have enough power to turn the tide with good aim, especially more then 1 working together. What I'm not OK with is adding all these other stupid projectiles that one shot anyway and having the other mechanics like horses achieve the exact same thing they were trying to avoid with archers. It's like fucking pick a direction.

Add Pocket Sand to game.

Pocket Sand flinches enemies who face it when tossed.

Pocket Sand also snuffs out flames.

Now we have an anti-fire option that doesn't smoke up a whole area.

That, and the fire damage model should probably change a bit or something. It does a full 24 if you just skirt it for a millisecond. CSGO's molotov is way more sensible in comparison. Barely hurts you when you graze it, ramps up to extremely heavy damage if you just try to run through it.
