Shouldn't the moderators they pick be an exemplary through following the rules on the forum they are active on, and not to mention that participating and moderating in a forum are two different things.

Obviously we want a moderator that knows the rules and how to deal with forum users accordingly to them and not some popular shitposter. AFAIK, shitposting is also against the rules.

2lazy4name should never be a forum mod from what I have seen.
Let it be based on competence and NOT popularity.

What about this: The devs create a little and cute subforum for all the brats and basement dwellers and he can be a mod there. That would be a more realistic suggestion.

I'm not sure why but since the last update I've been getting an insane amount of red parries, to the point where it happens every other duel, I only play on low ping servers and i rarely get packet loss so I'm really not sure what's causing it, a lot of the time it's not even in the ms range and I get hit mid block.

Are there any settings i can tweak to try to get it to be less frequent?

While some of these options DO work, horse hitboxes are broken AF and beats all of the above.
It's hard to "outplay" a horse rider when his/her spear hits you long before it visually should and any attacks you attempt in return ghost through the horse.

Probably worse is the poor gameplay design revolving horses. Everything is in the riders' favor and I do mean absolutely everything.

  • Momentum-based damage for both parties? Nah, only the guy on foot receives bonus damage and gets one-shot. When the footsoldier instead hits the rider at full speed, only normal damage is dealt.
  • Contact with the horse immediately flinches and cancels your attack on foot. Makes it near impossible to fight back. Not even a javelin to the face flinches you but horses do.
  • No penalties whatsoever for riding your horse head-first into a wall at full speed. If an enemy is standing in front of said wall he'll get one-shot because of your momentum, but that very same momentum somehow does not harm the rider nor the horse when they hit the wall afterwards.

If Mordhau wants realism, Mordhau better implement realism all the way. Don't half-ass it to favor the horses.

It's actually crazy how much more playable chivalry is with its classes and game mode and not constantly being fucked by horse cocks.

I literally don't use horses because i feel like all i am doing is scaring nubs away from the game. Exploiting a mechanic that is meant to feed easy kills for some reason...

Tired of being bumped, interrupted, punished for blocking a couched weapon in the middle of a fight with other enemies, and generally just sick and tired of trying to play around/deal with horses. Just give us a playlist where we don't have to suffer, I'm slowly becoming less interested in playing this game.

The only way to truly counter a horse is to go all the way up to a ballista in the back of the map (fun?), or switch classes to a billhook/toolbox (fun?). It's boring to go out of my way to deal with something that just respawns in a few minutes anyway. You're forcing us to fight a gimmick with a gimmick and it's completely pointless to have them in the game anyway. They don't serve a certain role tactically, they're just an annoyance that takes too much away from the frontline experience.

A lot of people are missing the point that the articles are trying to get at, thinking they're just liberal trash pushing an agenda. Even giving these folks the benefit of the doubt, it should be in their interest to have at least some filtering and a functioning report system.

The reason this is a problem is because it hurts player retention, and is especially harmful for hooking new players in.
A new player is often goign to struggle, probably new tot he genre, and has 2 hours to decide if he likes the game before his refund window is up. He sees he isn't good at the game, but maybe is learning a few things. however, chat is the tipping point when he sees a couple people dropping racial slurs like it's going out of style and he abandons the game or refunds it. It also can give the impression the devs don't give a flying fuck about keeping the community clean and fun when they're so hands off. Where if chat was at least somewhat moderated a player on the fence may be more likely to stick around and keep learning, and might even find a new passion for the genre as they improve.

In the long term it would slow down how fast the playercount bleeds, and extends the logngevity of the game.
If you like a multiplayer game, don't you tell your friends? Friends buying a copy of the game keeps the money flowing for devs, and again helps bolster the playercount if they stay. Even if a lot of people here are conservative or just plain raging racist assholes, if they like the game they should support it being welcoming even to more sensitive people. This silly and smooth slasher game is fun, but being able to spout hateful garbage into chat shouldn't be a selling point for any game.

If losing that would make someone quit the game and wanta refund they can fuck off.

PS: Free speech doesn't cover private services either, it's about the government not being able to put someone in jail for what they say. A company can kick you off it's messageboards for being a toxic jerk as it is offering a service that is has the right to take away when misused. Chat filters in videogames are not true censorship.

No, once he realises he's muted he just targets someone else. That's the problem with no repercussions for the offender. He's allowed to go on bothering others. A proper reporting system would fix this. I don't want to ban people permanently just for being edgy either. I'm thinking of the Xbox Live model where reports are checked by a mod and, if deemed against the rules, punished starting with 1 day bans, increasing in duration each time until you get banned too many times and you're gone for good.

Actual braindead response tbh, chat isn't crippled in a 64 or even 16 player server by muting people.

Disabling chat is often mentioned as an option. But even muting one person puts the responsibility on the person being abused. That's retarded and if you think about it I'm sure you would agree.

I'm one of the people that doesn't think mute is a solution since it cripples the person being abused instead of the one doing the abusing. It's an extremely BAD solution to pander to the people causing the problem by making their target remove a feature of the game (chat) rather than just banning the people doing it for their offence, which is often already against the rules 'officially' anyway.

Love the game. First competitive multiplayer game I've been into in a long time, but I'm starting to have some regrets about buying so shortly after release.

There's no good game modes. Frontline is fun for a minute but gets old fast. No one plays TDM, and 99% of all FFA servers are just duel yards. Not to mention the highly questionable map balancing.

Oh, and Crossroads. They managed to make an already hated map even more hated by completely unbalancing it and turning it into a one-sided stomp fest.

Having the best mechanics in the world doesn't mean a thing if there aren't any good game modes to supplement them. Frontline just doesn't excite me at all. I'd happily play TDM all day, if there was a single active server with a decent population... which there isn't. I'm nowhere near the right skill level to have any amount of fun in duel servers.

I'm fine with swing manipulation as a core mechanic, but could you please tone down the crazy player model movement? At least reduce the amount of torso movement induced by camera manipulation. Right now, optimal play makes people look like they're being possessed by Satan.

On top of that, games urinalists have now started running a smear campaign against the game which will only scare away even more players (yes, people do still read Kotaku and PC Gamer, much to our dismay).
