Putting a weapon in the "Tertiary" slot should result in the weapon being on 3, regardless of whether there is a weapon in the "Secondary" slot.

I like having my shield on 3 for consistency, but it goes to secondary when that slot is empty. Not a huge issue and I doubt most even notice this. Just a suggestion.

Jax is just in it for the hearts. And to rub it in my face that he's got thousands of hearts while i barely have a positive heart to comment ratio. And you have no idea what that's like! I always have to watch what I say because every post with ZERO hearts makes me feel empty inside... and then right beside my post every time there is jax with like a million hearts.

I've had times where jax has simply agreed with what i had posted, i get 1 heart and he gets like 5, once in my own topic no less. I'm sure this has happened to all of us at one point or another...

Halo had completely functional 3rd person. They didn't let players access it. I didn't see anyone boycotting it for this reason.

I respect games that don't compromise core mechanics in the hopes that a few more plebs will buy it.

I was thinking audio cues, too. A big whoosh, or a clang sound. Good sound design is essential to competitive games anyway, and I think adding good audio cues for obscure mechanics like AP ripostes is a step in the right direction. Maybe some kind of lens flare around the character as well?

Have our characters yell what they are doing in an anime voice. "AHAA I AM UNFLINCHABRU!"

What happened to this? I thought we would be testing it and seeing balance changes over time. But so far it has been the exact same since day 1 and it isn't 'balanced". Maybe if you actually did make it "balanced" you could even include it in competitive who knows. Edam hasn't even played the game tbh

Range comes with great benefit in team games.

I do wish weapon length played a bigger part in 1v1 though. The only difference I notice are with the extremely short weapons vs the extremely long. And when a weapon is extremely long, it is slow, so you can close the gap with extreme ease after you read the slow and easy to read feint, which is really the only advantage a longer weapon has right now, the ability to engage first. Once they are inside of that space, the quicker weapon always has the upper hand.

This was true in chiv too, but kick was actually good, and slow weapons had good drags, which they currently do not.

Again, this is another problem caused by current bubble and kick setup, rather than with the arsenal.

Wanna play facehug with an axe? Go for it.

Wanna play facehug with a rapier? Strap on that full plate armor and go for it. Wanna play distance, pokey, and bait-and-punish instead with a rapier? Strip off some armor, go for it. Same weapon.

You've got a lot of options with versatile weapons like the 2h swords. Aggressive feints and chambers for a fast style. Defensive attrition play for a slow one that capitalizes on enemy mistakes and puts them on the ropes with low stamina. Mix it up with drags. Mix up the drags themselves. One particularly good one is to stab low and, if they chamber stab but DON'T morph it, counter stab chamber UPWARDS and do a sky -> head stabdrag while they're still aiming down. There is NOTHING like that in Chivalry.

Defensive and aggressive playsyles are so much more pronounced in even the top levels of Mordhau. Chivalry's a lot more rigid, you'd know this if you ever played up there past 2012's "feints are too cheap" meta.

I wanna feel like I have control over my distance game.

It feels super easy for someone to overcome my "distance advantage". Devolving gameplay into the same series of morph/feint/chamber tactics. It is too easy to force that style of gameplay, to the point where using distance as an advantage 1v1 isn't even worth the effort. Just choke up and feint them, then combo feint them. Or receive the same treatment.

I think they should remove distance play by adding target lock on, locking both combatants into a set distance where they have to rely solely on their skills of feints and morphs. Removing distance as a factor, thus purifying the Mordhau experience.

They need to add flinch back in some way. Just on throwing axes AT LEAST. There is very little reason to take throwing axes over an axe or two. In fact there is no reason to.

Throwing axe headshots should flinch.

I am mostly indifferent to these suggestions, with the exception that I believe hit trades to be better than AP in almost all aspects.
And I dislike 3rd person.

Look he is still there when I come back. 3rd person invites this style of gameplay. It is rewarding and effective as it is cancerous.

Posted this in another thread. I still feel the same. I guess locking some servers to 1st would partially solve this issue without pissing off the 3rdies

These clips were put together fairly quickly and against players not who are not necessarily top tier (the exception being Shuugs, one of the best players). As a result, these are not the cleanest or most accurate portrayal of these mechanics. However, I do the exact same things to the best of the best -- anyone that has fought me can attest to this. Some clips are unrealistic (for example landing 3 waterfalls in a row) but the main point here is to show that waterfalls are viable and the footwork to deal with drags/insta hits. You'll notice there aren't that many chambers because what happens is the attacks miss me. They either miss or connect instantly. This is how I personally deal with the attacks that are tough to read. It's obviously not 100% consistent because that would break the game, but I can perform these maneuvers enough to what I would consider consistent.

Waterfalls are not the only way to bypass parry, there are a plethora of unique things you can do. I chose waterfalls because they are a basic and well-known move that stems all the way from early chiv days.

AHH THAT'S HOW YOU SOLVE THE PROBLEM OF YOUR ARMS NOT EXISTING, AND NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE SHIT BELOW YOUR NOSE? Play in 4:3? How about they just make our viewmodel better so you don't have to play in 4:3 just to make the game work properly? So you can see the underhand drags when you are centered on your opponent in facehugging range. This almost seems like an Exploit for duels compared to how much up and down fov I get in 16:9.

As a zwei main, i feel shafted of late. I sacrifice most armor just to carry this thing, yet a longsword can use full armor, and carry an axe, either of which are better at killing than my zwei, which feels useless for anything aside from attacking people from behind in team fights.

The Zwei poke is what i used to rely on for duels. When the poke was actually really good the Zwei was still the hardest weapon to win duels with, even after all the hours I put into it, you had to work for it, it never fed you kills like BA or LS. Now the Zwei has about the most forecasted stab in the game, with a shorter release than even the short sword.
