It's unprofessional of them, that's for sure. It's kind of messed that they'd hand pick a couple people without any sort of announcement to explain their actions. For all we know, the alpha won't drop for another week and these early testers could have the game a week early. Sure, it's not really a big deal, but I do expect at least a small level of communication. This meme "soon" route they've been taking is getting old. Just give us a release date and don't play favorites.

Check it out, boys! Looks like we got PC Gamer's attention. There one of the larger gaming news sites so I'm certain this will help push sales on release day! Article can be found below:

It sounds as if you already know the Alpha will be delayed. I understand it's important to you all that Mordhau be absolutely perfect before it touches our hands, but remember, we backed at the Alpha tier knowing there would be bugs and issues. Give us SOMETHING to play by the end of August. I think I speak for all of us when I say that we'd be content with playing some form of the Alpha this August, even if it's riddled with bugs or content lacking. Hell, even if you can't give us working servers, provide us with an offline component where we can test the mechanics against bots. Yes, a Slasher 2.0.

Just want the devs to know it's all good if you have to delay another month. We'll survive. Take as much time as you need gents! Sending all the good vibes your way to ensure you make produce the best of the best. Pay no mind to those who say otherwise. We're all standing with you and wish nothing but the best. All the gravy good love we can provide. If there is anything you need from us please let us know - we'll be fine if it takes another month.

September allows everyone to shed their summer skin, and maybe some summer sins, and begin setting new goals for the last few months of the year. With January creeping around the corner, September is the best month to remember, and scurry to complete, those New Year's resolutions.

Lets not encourage a delay, please.

Now they're going to have to delay again to prove you wrong. Thanks.

Though it rarely worked properly, Chivalry placed HUD markers over teammates that were also your Steam friends. How do we feel about this? I personally like it as I almost always play with friends and it is convenient to know where my friends are, especially when our spawns are staggered. Would you like to see this feature in Mordhau too?

Can we just take a moment to be thankful it's not Roshawn?

I think it's a neat idea. Maybe pause after each mistake, instead of simply listing the mistake, and offer tips on what other players can do to avoid making the same mistakes.

At the very least, please indicate on the scoreboard who is and isn't using 3rd person. Like an icon next to their name or in parentheses (3rd) to let everyone know.

I play in 1st person, but I did try 3rd for a match of FL and within 10 minutes I was doing substantially better. 1vX became much easier and I even found myself doing lots of ballerina attacks (which were quite effective), my drags became much more difficult to read, and I was able to easily parry attacks coming at me from behind. I could even look around corners to surprise unsuspecting horse riders passing by.

Honestly, it was difficult to go back to 1st, because I knew by doing so I'd be at an disadvantage to those who chose to keep playing in 3rd - but I felt too ashamed to continue.

Shields need a mechanics rework - they have for a long time now. The game should strive to create gameplay that is fun for everyone. Fighting shield users is not fun; it's mindless and tedious. There has to be a solution that'll make both the shield and 2Hs users content, but what we have now doesn't work.

I can see it being 50/50 whether or not it comes in one big update or two smaller ones, but if the latter happens the maps definitely won't have as long of a wait as it's been since the last patch to now.

Small Updates > Big Updates

Triternion is making a huge mistake trying to combine all these changes/features into one update. For one, the majority of gamers are impatient. Waiting months and months for any news/updates results in the player-base becoming bored, and eventually, disinterested enough that they move on to other games. I'd say 90% of the player-base doesn't look at the forums, discord, reddit, or the steam discussions. All they see is a stagnant game that hasn't been updated in months - they have no idea that the devs are working on updates. So, here's all you have to do once every couple weeks: send out a little patch -

'tweaked eveningstar animations, moved spawns on crossroads - also, here's what we're working on ..'

That right there creates excitement. Now your players know the game hasn't been abandoned. They're curious to launch the game, check out the changes to the eveningstar, crossroads, and they're looking forward to whats to come .. and hey, it's only a couple weeks to the next patch! And best of all, I bet that took the devs a day to complete.

Another reason large patches are a terrible idea is that it makes them more prone to bugs and significantly more complicated to correct when these issues inevitably happen. Diagnosing what has gone wrong after a large patch is much more difficult to do. If it had been the hypothetical patch I mentioned above, the devs would know right away the bugs are relevant to one of two small changes they made.

Of course, if we could have large patches frequently, that'd be best, but Triternion is a small team that seems to refuse to put profit back into development. So, I think it'd be best to stick to creating small, quick patches that tells the community that they haven't been abandoned, the game isn't dead - we're still here working on it!

The thing is that they have to fit every weapon, since you can pick them up from the ground.

If I can stretch my arm out towards a weapon on the ground and have in magically appear in my hand, then I see no reason the scabbard on my hip/back couldn't magically change to accommodate the new weapon too.

This shouldn't be allowed to happen - it's this sort of bullshit that ruined Chivalry. Can you learn to react to these kind of drags? Sure, but do we really want the combat in Mordhau to look like this? I understand that drags are valuable to keep the combat varied and constantly evolving, but this doesn't look like a melee fight - and isn't that what the developers said they were going for?

There should be an option to join a queue for full servers. This'll be especially important if Mordhau is successful and there's a large influx of players looking for servers to join.

Thank you, Crushed. This is all we want: communication. We're all very excited about Mordhau, but we've also invested a lot of our time and money in helping it grow. We don't want to be dicked around. Be straight with us, tell us the status of the game, why delays happen, when it should release, and explain the reasoning behind your actions. We understand you're busy designing the game, but know that transparency is crucial to good game development.
