There's a reason shield users get kicked to death all the time. In a chaotic battle a shield is a huge pain in the ass to unlock defensively, to the point of being not even worth it to even try half the time. So we called the 2 hand council and the matter was decided.

All the chad 2 handers have an unspoken agreement amongst us that we will back any shield user into a corner and gang kick until it's all over.

We do this because it's humiliating and we are trying to forge strong chad iron from virgin shield ore. It's also fitting that a braindead bypass of all the finer offensive mechanics (the shield) has an equally easy and braindead counter (mash kick).

How do you get them this assimetrical?

I'm curious too. My knights are handsome as fuck, when all I really want is to be a demented looking gollum peasant

Yes the game lacks replayability atm which isn't great for active player counts. I would be excited for the future though, not worried.

Firstly, the smear campaign will probably boost sales. Free marketing, Streisand effect or whatever. Also, the game has a very good mechanical base and needs content which is the kind of problem 6 - 18 months worth of work can solve. A game with a poor mechanical base has a less promising future as this will be hard to shift moving forward.

Worth noting that once you've played Mordhau other melee games feel prehistoric by comparison so they've gained an edge they can convert with time into a really fun game. My 2 cents

Feel free to enjoy the game from whatever angle you like, most people are playing because they want to swing weapons around and enjoy the occasional goof.

Poll the player base right now, 9/10 players don't know/care what a Landsknecht or a Zweihander is or that it's a real historical thing.

They could however tell you that Mordhau lets you beat up a knight in full plate with a frying pan while a naked mongoloid plays the GoT theme on a Lute next to you. That's what the games about chief I'm stunned you haven't noticed.

Smug Trit are an 11 man kickstarter company with a single product being sold to a very specific audience. They don't even have a reputation to be muddied really. That's just what the SJW's want you to think - that they have some sort of power over you, and because you don't follow the rules as they see them there gonna get you good.

I studied undercover for many years with the SJW's and know their tactics initimately. High horsed vitriol is the modus operandi, and the weapon is always some form of "we're going to take your money", whether its through targeting advertisers, getting you directly fired, whatever.

The most OP defence against this tactic is to just ignore them (provided you have good allies at your flanks that can't be pressured. Eg Valve/Steam to the left, playerbase to the right). Thanks to the initial wave of sales and thin overheads of running an org structure with no office space they are a lean, mean game making machine powered purely by the desire to create the most racist and transphobic medieval fighting game the world has ever seen. I say carry on, gentleman.

Btw if you could right click on a word/string within chat like "lelggot" and opt for "Filter this word" it could just be added to a file in the game's belly and each user could gradually tailor the experience of chat over a few lobbies to suit what they find acceptable. Everyime a user finds a new variation of "lelgott" like "roflfag" or "scrotmaster" that you don't like it just gets added to the list. If you deciced "scrotmaster" is actually funny and filtering it diminishes and marginializes the persepctive of people who master scrots you can go to the blocklist in your options and remove the words from it so they can appear it chat again.

Can't be that hard to implement honestly.

As long as it has superior fire rate to the Recurve Bow and one shots t3 chest/helm I'm on board. A 4x ACOG holo would be cool too but might be a tad OP.

There is an option to hide the default classes already. Underneath the "Retire Mercenary" button click "hide defaults".

Cata Tweak:

  • Now deals 90 player damage instead of 100 at centre
  • AoE stun area is increased by x% against cavalry (causes horse to shy)

Javelin:

  • Now deals 90 damage to t2 head instead of 100

Anti-Cav Perk:

  • Projectiles deal x% extra damage to horse/rider

Mini-Ballista:

  • 24 Ammo, takes 3-4 "wood" to re-fill ammo

Firebomb:

  • Slight reduction of hitbox width to match appearance
  • Slight reduction in DPS

Frontline Comeback Mechanic:

  • The team behind by 100 or more tickets will receive a x% multiplier for point control, kills, etc. Disengages when the gap is less than x?.

Overall outcomes: Direct projectile spam away from melee without nerfing it, nerfs objectively OP horses, maintains cataLOLt ragdolling and power while reducing player rage/feelsbad, drastic improvement of player engagement with Frontline mode due to close matches replacing roflstomps as the de facto result. Agree in the comments below.

If you don't post a dementia riddled screed in this thread you're not a real man imo.

NewYariMeta, could you please explain the above in more detail? I have been suspecting there were cheaters with the Cihangir Sword on the OCE servers for some time now but never had the evidence to back it up. Reports of this behavour spreading further trouble me deeply...

Can we shift the conversation back to reading attacks in FL. So shields are just easy targets. If there has to do so. Just like in Chivalry rather than damage. If its poleaxe sized then it should be the most in patch 16, I rip through most shields and I can't sprint. Also, why don't we get no-combo for ES just like it should. I think parry should be beaten down with decreased stamina or kick just to be sure but its meta is about you and start a morph but was also the difference between inconsistency and the most intuitive way parry should be a tertiary utility like in Chivalry and enforces the same premise.

I don't think stamina is at his mercy, never able to slowdown your weapon... I'm all for the attacker gets to riposte can suck a big pokey stick or for being useless without gambling or spamming to compensate and avoid kick stun. If kick stun anybody but youll drain stamina and using it against multiple shields for obvious reasons but lets be real. The devs are forcing a certain direction at the first and leave you defenseless for the shield were due mostly spam gambles that I wasn't happy with the beginner classes.

OK I'm calling Turing Test failed. This poster is in fact a poorly written python script with an array of Mordhau terms and some other weird bullshit that generates text. "I rip through most shields and I can't sprint" ?? Crushed please do work on the game instead of programming bots to troll the forum

Considering a horse rider can oneshot with a rapier slash, does it matter what armour you run with a billhook/throwing axes?

I hate fighting against horses more than anything, they encourage cheap shots and are way too powerful in frontline.

As it stands a horse rider has a mobility, health, range AND damage edge and requires very precise timing to even have a hope of landing a shot against in a front on collision. If the rider hits you from behind while you're running from spawn or in the middle of a fight - well, you know how that goes. A smart rider has his "hit the spawn point from behind" loop A, B and C dialled in on each level by this point.

Seems cheap that these things are so throughly alpha and the best defence is to run for your life or slowly chip the horses hp with projectiles (while you have roughly zero fun and finish the match 9-9 while the horse keeps respawning once you've finally killed it and the rider goes 48 - 12).

I would like to see the flinching hitbox around the horse reduced and a leg chopping mechanic introduced. If i come around a corner and hit the horses legs front on with my Zwei they should get chopped off and the rider should go flying.

Indeed, the Rapier is working as intended. It can take the most meagre amount of skill and amplify it into a useable front line weapon because the flurry of stabs wins constant initiative if they land so you can just spam the same attack and focus on footwork. The good news is this type of player can be dealt with quite easily with practice. The spear is a 10 point weapon so it makes sense that its strong. It was traditionally easy to use so it makes sense that its... easy to use. The alt grip is a bit nutty though.

Basically Frontline has so much chaos you can run around dong sub-optimal shit like spamming Rapier/Spear stabs and do quite well. You will get dismantled in a duel when your opponent has enough time to focus on you so try to pick up some other weapons and forget about the scoreboard while you learn. Topping FL is like winning the Special Olympics, you're just beating on mongos, so better to focus on learning how to use any given weapon which is more fun and effective long term.

It's B mostly. The pending horse re-work is inevitable at this stage, most players hate them.

Workable idea, but more robust if the rider takes momentum based damage from all incoming attacks (including projectiles) the same way he dispatches it. Then no need for a perk slot to be used and the laws of physics are appeased.

I feel the same about the Messer. Fillet skin is the worst. As for kicks, if you hold a block with a shield and someone kicks within a 5m radius you may indeed wear the kick. I'm not mad about it, comes in handy vs Kite shielders. Use a Targe Shield for a defensive boost without developing shitty habits like block holding if you aren't already, or better yet swap the BS for a Messer. Same points and range with far superior HTK and general animation fuckiness allows you to land more blows. The guilt you feel when using that broken weapon is honestly the biggest/only negative.
