You snooze you lose you fuck.
Highlands was removed because they realised it was an open space and didn't have enough shit to get stuck on thus going against their design philosophy.
Their communication methods definitely need to change. This is no longer a small alpha playerbase and people get frustrated when none of their concerns may not get addressed until next patch and even then might not which just frustrates a player more. We have no idea what the future of frontline is. Whether it be core mode redesign, sweeping map changes, solutions to annoying things like firebombs and horses. It's just snippets about random stuff from a dev on discord sometimes and no clear HEY this is the direction we want to take for next patch and expect SOMETHING in the way of this though there is no guarantee etc.
If Faetoria is in final phases what does that mean? Will it be soon in another patch or will it come later so the patch has more meat to fill it out with weapon changes and the like. I just have no clue.
The fuck is wrong with you
Tim isn't wrong crush lol, take it as a criticism instead of being annoying with meme reply and cutting out a section of his quote where it makes less sense. The core mechanics are amazing but other then that Mordhau is currently Bordhau. You may be working on all this already but giving a le funny reply to legit criticism and concern does not inspire hope at all.
Lies, the horse piece is a clear sign they will include a competitive chess mode tbh imo
You call us bad yet you're the entitled little bitch who didn't know about a Kickstarter and now thinks it's his right to get in on it after the fact and blaming the Devs. For what? Because they didn't use money they didn't have to advertise all over the web to reach people like you? Get fucked.
Yeah months and months ago I was on the grind to rank 60, joined a full server disguised as an official and had my rank changed to -21 by Redemption as I'd spoken out against him before. He would ddoss all servers but his so if you wanted to play, you were in his domain. I held out for a while hoping TB would come up with a solution but of course there was none. That is when I finally lost complete interest in the game and uninstalled. I couldn't care less about chiv now but the fact he could exploit in game console and bring down community servers 24/7 has me worried just a little about Mordhau in AU/NZ.
4400 is more than enough for a controlled closed alpha.
In all honesty he should get SOME kind of exclusive cosmetic that makes him instantly recognisable. 10k is a lot to drop.
I'd say a night time battle with more of a blue tinge and torches layed about would be good. Would highlight the flaming trebuchets a bit more. It's just very gray atm, no blues or anything to make it all pop. Taiga is like a whole different game visuals wise.
Oh fuck off. If horses are not fair and have a lot of issues in even casual play of course they would sit out on competitive. You can call comp players small minded but they have obviously learned from chivs OP archers that just letting it stay is not a good idea in a competitive environment. I have played 6v6 comp frontline without horses and it was insanely fun strategising pushes and holds without a 1 shot machine roaming the map.
Oh for fucks sake nobody cares. If you can't take someone else rustling your Jimmie's with certain words then get off the internet or go play single-player games. You write a lot but say fuck all. Server mods will come eventually and so will mod tools. Just like parents shouldn't complain about language and bullying in an adult only game that their kid plays, they shouldn't even be playing it. People who can't deal with hostility and words even if with hateful intent, over a god damn computer screen, should not be playing multi-player adult games in the first place just like a child should not be because they clearly aren't mature enough or in the right mind for it. Chat doesn't kill games, griefing and bad game direction does.
Oh shut up Pariah. Client side filter is fine and I agree votekick needs work but not for the reasons of toxic chat. At the end of the day you can't completely filter negative human activity out because they will find another way. I'd rather people spam slurs in chat to get out their spasms then tking and blocking spawn and other things because it's all that's left to them. And TBH kinda weak calling the community trash when most of us get along fine even with toxic chat taking place.
I kinda have to agree with Tim. TO always felt like you were accomplishing something and progressing. You could literally clutch the door ram and things like this, throw bodies at it or you won't see the next part of the map. Camp is just go stand on points in an already fully open map and go stand in another when the enemy takes the opposite. I don't feel the need to use teamwork as long as you all bunch up onto the closest point, that's about the extent of it. No super cool flanks with a small group of dudes to destroy the door to the peasants at A or whatever. It's partially map design and partially the mode in general.
They deserve more money but not through that method. Be disgusted all you want but people backed tiers for the exclusivity thinking they would have no other chance. There is nothing wrong with people valuing having rare items and getting annoyed that other people will now have the chance to move up tiers when the Kickstarter gave the impression it's now or never. I myself backed Duke when I needed the money at the time since I had no idea I'd just be able to upgrade later. Spread the word about Mordhau and offer friends alpha keys or try persuade them to buy one from the shop. This is the most healthy way we can help the Devs financially before release without breaking anyone's trust. Acting like we don't give a shit about the development team or using it as an emotional attachment to your side of the argument is pointless as everyone here clearly gives a damn about them as a lot of us were here pre-kickstarter discussing the game. I've even sent money to Vesanus separately on an occasion through his PayPal as I enjoyed the shit out of his chivalry maps and want to support him. We need to support the Devs but not like this.
They just need to hire one experienced guy for level design and contract a sound guy to flesh out the sound like chiv did with all its unique weapon parry and hit sounds and background atmosphere. That's it. No massive hires and structure changes or making a big AAA team. Just key hires that boost the game in the areas it is lacking. I guarantee you even if Feitoria is detailed and cool it still won't be fun for long as it will feel 'empty'. If you want to compare and see how much abit of sound can make a map better go stand in battlegrounds in chiv then go stand in ANY map in mordhau.
Honestly I think it's pretty clear that it's filler content while they finish the two new maps. Crossroads is everything I hate about Frontline rolled into one bland and blinding map.
At this point they need to release it and make money, not keep killing themselves with this grind. All balance changes can be done after release at this point like many other games do. As long as the overall polish of the game is above what we see from other first release indie games then thats all that matters. Once they make money and can breathe easy again about their future then they can get back into the grind of constant balance. I can't imagine the pressure they are feeling and i totally agree with all this extra content they decided to focus on.
Well Chiv had content and a fairly accepted meta plus it was many of our first rodeos so it felt magical. Right now Mordhau has glaring flaws and no content. I and many others I know are waiting for the next major update and animations to be changed because right now the fights just remind me of chivalry with constant footdrags and abusing accelerations more than actually having a varied enjoyable fight.
I stopped playing chivalry due to the feint spam+instant attack punish meta so not much reason I would play Mordhau if it's the same currently. Good game just has a ways to go.
