Brawler could be very good for clutch plays after you get disarmed.
Acrobat is decent seeing as jumps are pretty powerful atm
Scavenger is a meme imo
Yeah I might have been wrong about this thinking about it, if I get a clip of it definitely happening and not just a failed chamber attempt I'll upload it. But still, I think they're too effective as feints and should have the stam balance looked at when compared to actual feints
I can read them but can't punish them (unless you count footwork gambling)
Edit: This is actually the main reason I dislike them. In order to punish a feint you have to react extremely quickly, ideally as the weapon returns to its rest state. The morph also undergoes this return to idle movement mimicking a feint thus baiting a punish. The result being that this brainless mechanic will not only successfully counter chambers whilst also acting as a feint by threatening an insta-hit, but it will also counter the most skillful players who attempt to punish (and it does all this at a lower stam cost than a feint). In the attemp to nerf feints triternion have spawned a far worse creation than feints EVER were
They're just as hard if not harder imo and are more powerful in every other respect
Slippery slope fallacy, removing first hit flinch is not in the debate at all and of course would lower the skill ceiling. If half the playerbase wants to use 3rd that's fine it will just mean that half the playerbase are shitters
Chiv 3rd person allowed for almost MOBA tier vision around your character which was great for dominating pubs, this isn't available in Mordhau. If you spend your whole day stomping pubs you can get a better k/d than a player who is more talented than you because pub stomping relies on learning noob mindsets and avoiding your own team tking you etc rather than being a better player.
It's a concern that seems to me only frightens pubbers. Comp players are confident that they will farm any player regardless of their perspective and tbh people should adopt this mindset. Most of the players wanting 3rd person are Witcher/Dark Souls players who will get absolutely harvested by anyone already posting here, having more players in the game should be encouraged.
Also frontline is a pub match. Trying to be ultra competitive in a pub match will always end badly because your team won't share your enthusiasm 90% of the time and you can't properly balance teams that large so why even get embroiled over this
let's direct our attention to the real enemy, stand alone morphs
There's a reason chiv vets played in first. It gives you a better view of your opponent allowing you to react faster and with better footwork/body movement. All 3rd has going for it is run away cheese and knowledge of opponents behind you (which you can get anyway with attack sounds/footsteps)
Best 1st person chivalry player vs best 3rd person chivalry player (both have thousands of hours) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0Tutxy9sCE
I don't think that stun on kick feels appropriate in Mordhau, everything about the game is fast paced and reactive apart from this one mechanic that forces you to stand up straight and eat a hit. Besides the cheese aspect, it doesn't feel "movie" realistic (which is what should be aimed for) when a kick delivered to a knee causes a bigger reaction than a maul to the chest. I'd prefer for it to revert back to raw damage and maybe retain the stun for shield players or just completely remove the stun if shields are deemed balanced already
thank GOD
They asked RebornChief first but he said no so they picked Jax instead
A really small change has broken the game for anyone that uses RMB to feint, that sounds dramatic but it's honestly the case.
The issue: now that you can't feint in riposte a lot of the skilled players will be pushing the limits of making a "fake riposte", a normal attack started as early as possible so that you can then feint it. However in the heat of a battle often your attempts at starting a normal attack will be off by literally a millisecond and you will riposte instead. In this build if you press parry (or feint if bound to rmb) at the start of a riposte you will instead automatically FTP (feint to parry).
In summary: If you use rmb to feint you're going to end up panic parrying accidentally all the time.
Other cons:
Jax I don't know who your source is but that's conflicting with the latest intel that I've received. I'm getting reports that hitstop is being replaced with a fully fledged magic system in order to attract the Mirage: Arcane Warfare playerbase
Hit stop on blunt weps is very bad imo, reminds me of this. I get that it's meant to add weight to the hits but for me it does the exact opposite, it feels like somebody replaced my metal mace with a rubber replica and only the killing blow is satisfying to land
It's also very confusing from a gameplay perspective and fucks with 1vX
Is it just me or is everyone's head cocked to one side quizzically in this patch
Might be too early to discuss this but it's really hard to not unintentionally KO your own horse whilst attacking
Movement is more satisfying, attack animations are considerably less frustrating, smoke pots are atmospheric and will be useful for a change, performance is even better. Congrats on this, seriously
big update for big boys
Open task manager with ctrl alt del and then use ctrl escape to select it and use arrow keys to end mordhau process
edit: ok reading my post history i'm actually pretty toxic too
I have an ego but at least make an effort to rein it in, I don't waltz around the forums claiming that I'm here to educate the peasants or claiming the entire population has a l2p issue. I get that its fun but its ultimately destructive and if you care about the game and its longevity then you should realise this
How can you expect to fruitfully discuss balance with people when you speak friendly to them in their presence then denounce them as a retard behind their back? There's no ground to be made, in your mind what you say goes and anyone else is a clueless idiot. You illustrated my first post in this thread
