After I played this guy, I found out how abusive the stabdrag still can be (no disrespect to him). So then I thought I would try to do the same and this is what happened..

I don`t know why stabsdrags can be dragged so fast, its ridiculous. Latest patch was to fix stabdrags by reducing the release instead of reducing the dragspeed. Imo its still not fixed though.

I think revert the releasecap but make the dragspeed slower, so we can test it like that.

I agree, it should be punishable, and stamcost should be like normal feints or even more tbh..

Trit never aimed for realism, and they stated this in their intro video. They are aiming for fun gameplay experience.

Looks more like the start of the riposte windup could be mistaken for a return to idle position animation in these 2 examples, particularly the bardiche.

Do you have as much trouble with this issue if they riposte on the opposite side? Both videos have the riposte coming from the same side where the weapon would end up in idle after parry which is why I ask.

Interesting question. I cant imagine it from the top of my head right now. I will pay attention to it.

this is because the arc starts behind you and ends sooner after the swing passes through center. since release duration won't change (more or less) you hit later, and either you have to turn into the attack more to accel (which telegraphs better) or you hit later, so the defender has more time to react.

Glad u stated this and its great that it will have a rework. I thought it was gonna stay this way because crush said it was fine.

I had this discussion before with Crush, that the ripost attacks windups are non present. Heres a video:

My opponent parries, after that I dont see a windup, only release anim which confuses me everytime. Its not so fast, its just confusing because its hard to read whats going on in an intense fight. It could be an idle anim, a body feint, a ripost..

Also, sometimes riposts come like overheads and suddenly then blend in lmb which screw up my chamber attempt.

I think the no-combo mechanic is whats making the sword boring. I know its for balancing purpose but trowing out comboing is not a good idea imo. Add more stamina or stamina even when u do hit someone. Much better then not being able to combo.

500ms windup stab is very fast which im ok with it, its a 1 handed weapon, also its a blunt weapon and restrikes are faster then combos, and kills you in 2hits... and defends as easy as any other sword. Defense is the problem, it feels op.

Dagger can parry zwei as easy as a GS. That is the problem here.

If small parryboxes create problems, then maybe parrytime could be adjusted for weapons. In chiv (dw) every weapon had their own parry time, some could hold parry longer (halberd) while some had very short time to parry (sarrisa).

I agree with OP that small weapons need some adjustment. They are superfast and they can parry very easy, and some do only 2htk on full plate (mace) so it doesnt feel right.

I agree with op tbh. The game has become very boring and its very hard to bypass parry as it takes way too long. This leaves chambers a bit in the dark. I know chambers are not meant to be consistent 100% but the reward for chambering is very little, especially in teamfights.

Also gambles and kicks have become more populair lately and I dont blame them otherwise it can become a stamina war.

The showdebug option is really cool as u can see info like input and speed ect.

It would also be cool if there were more options to see things like lockout, parrybox, chamberbox, force walking ect..
