People saying feints were consistently punishable in Chivalry are utterly wrong. Even with compmod where we balanced the feint recovery to give weapons very similar punishment windows there were cases where weapons wouldn't be able to reliable punish others even when factoring the speed of a reverse , just due to the nature of windup and swing arcs

Knowing when you can punish is a skill in of itself and it was so in Chivalry. I know that I can't punish BS feints with ES chambers so I have to FTP out, yet that still will win me a net Stam war regardless

If you increase feint recovery any further in Mordhau you wont be able to do convincing feints and will be forced to microfeint constantly. If you are unable to punish misses and feints in Mordhau currently it's simply a learn to play issue - if you feel as though you want to punish EVERY feint you read then there are tons of weapons which will allow for that, consistently, such as bastard sword, Mordhau grip longsword, rapier, baxe, bardiche. I personally don't have any issues punishing with normal longsword itself

I do punish players for missing attacks but i cannot really punish a player that literally starts an attack already about to hit me and somehow able to cancel it.

This is alpha which only limited players have access to. And most of them are chivalry vets and are very good at this game.

Also, this game is not ur casual game. U need to clock in some hours to get the hang of it. Once u learn the mechanics, then the fun begins.

Feints have a counter which is called chambers, learn them.

Mate im a chiv vet and I played Comp once or twice and I think I don't like the feints here because it doesn't really have a separate animation for the windup so you can tell when he can cancel the attack and when he cant.

I suck too because I don't play frequently enough to match the tryhards, but have you considered learning how to chamber?

Chamber?... I can't even see what attack is coming because the attack is so fluid and so smooth you cannot tell what is a feint or what not... basically, I need to wait until the last millisecond to block.
and that's not a fun game for me...Honestly, At this point, I'm looking back at chiv as a more fun game because you can punish players for feinting. and the guy above showing me the telling me I'm cry baby isn't helping either

So yeah.. as the title says i took a break i came back and still saw the amount of feinting I thought it would stop but no, It didn't stop it got worse it doesn't take skill and just ruins my gaming experience from mordhau i think I will take another break for a couple of month from this game as I did a couple of weeks before.

Being Australian and coming from a Chivalry community where feints were heavily frowned upon to moving to this game with a community who decided to play this game with all its abilities to beat an enemy.

Feints are completely fine, they are fairly easy to read, if that fails use foot work. or practice your chambers. In my opinion blocking is a last resort, if you chamber his attack, force a clash then feints will become harder to use.

They arent broken, sorry to say this, but you just need to get better, the skill cap in this game is insane and will take a long time to master.

Agreed. I can easily read feints reliably, except for combo and riposte feints with quick weapons.
I have like 200 hours.

If you have 200 hours says how much life you got mate.

One thing about the grunt though : Chivalry's grunt started slightly before the release of an attack, meaning that you had enough time to hear the grunt and react. Mordhau's grunt start at release, which means that you can get hit at the same time as you start hearing the grunt, making it useless, especially for feint reading.

Exactly its about 0.02 seconds when some repost your attack. and you trying to hear that grunt

should make this more possible so running away is not the most viable course of action when you fail feint read

You see Chiv had are really shitty hitbox so your crosshair might have been on there head or something but in Mordhau the hit reg and the hitbox are way better so you cannot fucking dodge there attack like your Neo from matrix..

How the fuck can you hear a guy grunt when theres 4 more that are fighting the same time and fire bombs thrown around you and maybe some smoke and even sometimes some throwing axes being parried, mate lets be honest it almost impossble to hear a grunt of a single guy when you're in a huge groupfight

It's the libtards that want to poison your brain with anti-feint agenda. In fact, most of the feint violence that causes the biggest outcry happens to feint-free people. All these times you were defeated by feints could have easily been prevented if you used a feint yourself.

So don't let their propaganda and twisted logic fool you. The majority of players are good people and if you take feints from them, they won't be able to defend themselves against a few bad guys, who will always have access to all the dirty tactics.

More feints is the only logical, reasonable solution to feints. In fact, since 2017 there were ten times more people dying in carriage accidents and falls from heights than from being feinted. What are we supposed to do, ban carriages and footbridges too?

what?

Well 99% of the players will fall to the feint first time and the 2nd time they wont but its a 50/50 chance to not fall for it

The thing im not new to this genre i have about 600 hours in Chiv so i do get the feinting thing but its not fun to play the game when all you do is feint and not actually combat it goes like this

me: Engage a guy
him: attacks
me: blocks and attack's back
him:blocks feints hits me one time in the head with a maul and thats it im dead.

see that isnt fun right?
so thats why i dont really enjoy playing this game

Alot of you might disagree but the amount of broken feinting i see in this game is absaloutly outrages.
for example: the Maul is almost impossble to read because the maul is the a small weapon and it should be fixed
i think if a game gonna bring feiting into it the feinting should be perfect or not be in the game alot of the top quality players use it but its not fun for a casual gamer to get absaloutly fucked with feints its not fun...so yeah..
