so atm there's a few tracers on the weapon that don't interact with the environment, these tracers would make a sound if they hit but still not collide

Interesting, I like it !

Honestly wall hits should be less forgiving than they are now.

Watching someone's sword clip well into a solid piece of world geometry and not get stopped is pretty annoying.

Well the reason it's frustrating is when you're trying to overhead while having a wall behind you is because your windup goes straight through the wall and get stuck on release. In reality your character wouldn't go that far behind himself knowing there's a wall right behind.

The reason why wall hits are forgiving is because you can't be expected to control your movement precisely enough to avoid every wall like you would do in reality.

we want to add a scraping sound for when your weapon's extra tracers pass through map objects, so that way you know you're close to hitting walls and stuff

not sure if we're going to get around to adding it, but it'd be a nice quality of life feature

I don't see at all how that could work but I'm now very much curious. Can you clarify what's on your mind ?

3pp is fine, not sure why some people hate it so much. It has some minor advantages but also disadvantages, just disable it in comp and make it a toggle for private server owners.

Because 3pp ruined a lot of first person games already. Arma 3 is a good example, why the fuck would you add a 3rd person in a milsim ? Then it end up being allowed on most servers even in pvp because "it's part of the game". Please don't let mordhau be one of those FIRST PERSON GAME that actually has 3rd person.

@Pankila probably your character detail settings, something about LODs but not sure

I often have this bug too. It's always affecting one single player on the whole server, whenever he's far away he "loses" his clothes.
I noticed that the clothes also disappear when killing the affected player, so it's not only a distance thing.

They are already way too good.

How so ? They are literally not worth it compared to regular one handed that can be thrown.

3rd person needs to be strictly for admiring your character. Instead of controlling your view, the mouse should let you rotate around your character to admire yourself. 3rd person shouldn't be a viable option to play with.

Jax basically said that ap was a terrible mechanic, but they don't like trades either and are looking into a better option, experimenting with chambers and clashes.

I personally preferred the kick in patch 14 compared to the current kick stun. It's quite frustrating to get kicked now. But I'm not strongly opposed to the kick stun either.

Jump kick looks weird and is an exploit, so I'm not too worried about it. It will surely get either removed or refined.

Had the pleasure to experience this with his quarterstaff... This is awful especially since I don't really know how to jump kick myself.

I don't think that stun on kick feels appropriate in Mordhau, everything about the game is fast paced and reactive apart from this one mechanic that forces you to stand up straight and eat a hit. Besides the cheese aspect, it doesn't feel "movie" realistic (which is what should be aimed for) when a kick delivered to a knee causes a bigger reaction than a maul to the chest. I'd prefer for it to revert back to raw damage and maybe retain the stun for shield players or just completely remove the stun if shields are deemed balanced already

The wierdest part is the fact that kick doesn't stun when you block or parry. To me it should be the opposite.

@Jax ,

What alternate mode will Executioner's Sword have ? Another grip or 2h Throw ?

In game, on the armory, it says 2h throw. It might just be a placeholder tho.

I can confirm. It looks like both teams of bots agreed to only fights in certain area so they don't wander aimlessly on the map.

I don't have a screen for it, but on the new map (Mountain Peak), there is a small graphical issue on the suspended bridge. The bridge itself move slightly but the snow on it doesnt.

It's almost the same thing as stab dragging, pretty unrealistic and a cheap way to get around getting chambered.'
"But footwork counters it."
How?
With the current turncap you can move your sword wherever the hell you want whether or not your opponent is using WASD.

I disagree. Since the stab drags have been nerfed, they aren't too hard to parry, chamber or dodge, while being harder to make.

commenting on the poor defense is missing the point; i still think that trajectory looked weird, even from the limited view you get of it in the video

The poor defense is the only reason the attack hit in the first place though. Any sort of movement, or just not crouching would have made it miss. The clip is a bit cherry picked anyway, because of the waterfalls I land, 95% are early release and hit shoulders/arms. Making changes to avoid something like in the clip that only happens when fucking around on a non-moving person is a waste of time.

@Koda That said, if you want waterfalls removed altogether, use actual arguments as to why, instead of using a misleading example to try and garner support.

His complain is perfectly valid tho. The clip shows typically what would made any beginner say "well this is just as broken as chivalry, good bye", which is something Mordhau has been trying to avoid.

I've played chivalry for more than 3k hours, even competitively in the beginning. I loved reverse overheads and other weird swing manipulations. But as much as I enjoyed all that, I want Mordhau to be more than a niche game played by a few swing manipulation wizards.

What about when you hit someone who has a ping of 40ms, the game waits 40ms to see if the user didn't parry or chamber on time before damaging the user. Doing so for user with a ping lower than 70-80 shouldn't look too wierd. I would MUCH rather seeing a very tiny delay when I hit someone instead of having to time my parry and chambers not to quickly to read the incoming attack but not too late so I don't get fucked by latency.

This is a non-solution. Then people are just going to push that boundary instead and have that edge case pop up.

I don't really understand your point. If it has a ping limit (the system doesn't wait for a parry if the user has too much ping), it should prevent players from abusing it. That said, I work on banking software, not games, you're the expert here. I guess I will have to train chambers with bots online instead of offline to get used to the latency.

Seems like your heard to comment ratio is fixed.

Wtf? This is Jax's doing... he knew i was onto him so now he's trying to silence my complaining by sending his minions to like all of my least retarded posts.. his cunning has no end! 😓

I acted independently, I swear ! throws evidence through the window

I also often run into that issue, even with parries. This has to get a fix somehow, even if good players technically could get used to it as jax suggest, new players will easily quit the game if they often die while parrying or chambering on time.

We could have a grunt that play earlier, so you can attempt a chamber earlier and have more time to ftp out of it if needed.
Or more lax windows in general, especially chambers, so they become doable consistently with an average ping.

Jax is just in it for the hearts. And to rub it in my face that he's got thousands of hearts while i barely have a positive heart to comment ratio. And you have no idea what that's like! I always have to watch what I say because every post with ZERO hearts makes me feel empty inside... and then right beside my post every time there is jax with like a million hearts.

I've had times where jax has simply agreed with what i had posted, i get 1 heart and he gets like 5, once in my own topic no less. I'm sure this has happened to all of us at one point or another...

Seems like your heart to comment ratio is fixed.
