I've found that the baxe is good as a learning tool, the mechanics are easier to understand and so in my opinion, are easily translatable to other weapons, such as the great sword, which, I've found out-plays the baxe, same with other weapons.

When I was using the baxe however I found that people can counter it properly without using another baxe. It might be easier to use, but it isn't unbeatable unless you don't know how to use or read the mechanics properly, or are using weapons that would be counter able by the baxe.

My friend has been trying to join servers, and every time he tries to join a server it comes up with "Failed to join server" and local matches he has tried to create also comes up with "Failed to join server", although on a second attempt at creating a local server it worked, although trying to join servers after failing did not. He has tried reinstalling, deleting all files and reinstalling, disabling cloud sync but nothing has been successful.

My friend could eventually join a server, although not sure how this was fixed, probably sorted itself out.

I agree. Poison seems too "fantasy". Bleeding or wound mechanics would fit much better in the somewhat realistic theme of mordhau.

I think that healing items will be useful enough already. I often encounter situations where I defeat multiple opponent and barely survived, only to face more opponent before I could even catch a breath. A medic would allow his team to get back in the fight instantly instead of being incapacitated until they heal themselves. The time factor may seem small, but in a defence situation where enemies will constantly engage your team, it will make a big difference.

Unironically the bleed mechanic could work. It can be balanced, and does seem more realistic than poison. I'm not opposed to poison, but it's not my first choice when you want to add a damage over time effect.

How about:
Assassin (2 Point)
Movement is silent and attacks are 50% quieter.

Crippler (2 Points)
Damage to legs with a blunt weapon causes 15% slower movement speed (Edit: For 5 seconds)

The Julius Caesar Special (4 Points)
Stabs with daggers do "Bleed" damage: 2 HP every second for 9 seconds, not stackable.

Not sure if any of these have been suggested, tbh im not bothered to check

I got the game a day or so ago, lots of fun. Started with practice arena, one time I got killed and walked 5 steps before I dropped to the floor. Really enjoying it.

I would say let people do what they want as long as it doesn't harm anybody else in a commonly accepted way. Then make a book of the most essential ones, make it a constitution, get a publicly voted system in place to protect said constitution and expand laws.
