Thread #3000 does not dissappoint. Super Mariox Cart is a must.

I feel disrespected tbh. I make a serious suggestion for the game and all I am greeted with is memes and shitposts and then you move me to off topic.

At this rate I'm going to have to take out my boom boom horse.

Quit horsing around.

Alright, just gonna recycle this. Just pretend it says "you shall not necropost" instead of "you shall stay on topic."

My biggest problem with chivalry is that it seemed to me that timing and the ability to read feints made up far too much of the game.

I think you're forgetting how important footwork was in Chivalry. Yeah, veteran vs veteran it doesn't seem very profound, as both parties know their WASD, thus the fights starts revolving around the next thing: feints. A feinting ROOKIE, for example, is not a threath at all if he doesn't know footwork.

  • Attack Angling

I personally don't think this will be a very big factor on its own. Regarding body movement and chambering, however, it could play a significant role.

  • Body manipulation

Yes, from what we've seen it's probably more important than in Chivalry. Especially the faster attacks and straighter slashing angles would make dodging a lot more rewarding.

So I was curious what skillsets do you think WILL be most important judging from the raw gameplay footage and which skillsets do you think SHOULD be more important.

Even though, due to the absence of reverses, people are not going to spin like they would in Chivalry. However, there could be another way people might resort to wacky moves. Since chambering will be the Golden Grail of a veteran's defence, the offense might work towards hiding your attack angle with body movement. I'm not sure if this will be viable or even possible - but if it is, it will most likely become meta. I don't think it will really be a problem, but since you asked..

A reddit conversation I had with Marox a long time ago:

Marox knows his death cams, do not despair.

I would love to learn how to use the tools. Never really could get myself to put the time in it, sadly.

Yes, the story was real. He said it was communist propaganda since everyone has equal stats.

Actually, Mordhau incites people to be the best they can be, which is not something communism does.

Also, have him create a Mordhau account just so we can ban him, this is unacceptable.

I would like the cosmetic unlocks to last a damn long time, though. Chivalry's unlocks went way too fast, in my opinion. I always enjoy having something to look forward to, even if I've been playing it for a long time.

Equipping sword and shield and use chambers>cancel to block attacks instead of the shield and leave rookies puzzled on how that is possible.

Also, clashing all day long.

I'm going to assume this is about voice commands and leave it open for now.

So, mandatory suggestion: "Soon".

I'm afraid this would dramatically reduce the skill ceiling, as fighting 1vX becomes virtually impossible. You can, however, stop your swing after you hit someone manually.

This sounds like a job for modders tbh. Could be interesting, but not for the vanilla game.

Mobs could still murder you while failing wildly, even though they'd take one or two of their own down as well.

Having your weapon stop when hitting a teammate would work the best; you could anticipate it and make your move accordingly.

EDIT: high teamdamage is still a fine option, thought. It just isn't enough to move a mob to be coordinated on its own.

Who the fuck makes scabbards out of pure metal. It just doesn't work like this bobs

Well. First and foremost it was a joke, but it would justify the glorious SCHWINGGG sound.

Or just give player models metal scabbards.

I don't mind it too much, but I wouldn't care if it's not in the game either.

I don't want any low level servers.

This is very important. Rookie servers give the wrong idea of the meta of a game. This would be less prominent than in Chivalry, due to the lack of unintuitive moves like reverses, but it's still a factor.

Of course a good matchmaking system would fix this pretty elegantly.

We've discussed it and made some changes to the rules:

The moderators will enforce these rules based on their own judgement. The severity of punishment depends on the degree of offense compared to the number of contributive posts. Some bending of the rules for comedic effect is acceptable, but don't be in poor taste.

  • If a new account with no post history starts breaking the rules, they will receive a very harsh punishment.

  • If a member with hundreds of contributive posts steps out of line, their punishment will be less severe.

These guidelines are in effect to ensure that blatant offenders do not get to litter the forums, while allowing sporadic mistakes of otherwise contributive members to go by with a warning. However, any member systematically breaking the rules will be banned.

Horseback archery would be extremely obnoxious to fight against, but a ton of fun to screw around with. In other words: no horse archery. But the devs are well aware of this.

A trend I've noticed: pre-forum rules the forum's core was mostly shitposting and making memes. When the rules came, a lot of these long-term members stated their disagreement with some of these rules; the forums shouldn't become a police-state. This is why we have pretty lax rules, especially in discussions among known members.

Now, after the Kickstarter, most of the hard core members have become more constructive and post less shit - mainly due to the new reveals etc. But I see that a lot of new people have joined, among whom are some who almost exclusively post crap.

Personally I haven't found it to be too much of a problem, yet. But I will talk about it with the other Moderators and devs.

Keep in mind that you can always report issues to the mods.
