objectively best frontline bloodlust build is 3/3/2 + fireproof + friendly + cleaver (optionally drop 1 point of leg armor to get a pavice on back).cleaver is good enough to get a kill, in fact I frequently 1v2~1v3 with it just fine, and you can grab something better off the ground if no enemies are around.

I've done a lot of 3/3/0 + bloodlust + waraxe as well, but I feel gimped without fireproof/friendly, and leg hits do occasionally happen and a lot of the most common FL weapons 1-shot naked legs. the ground is constantly littered with zweihanders and executioner's swords in frontline, I see no reason to spend more than 1 point on a weapon.

Held block has no place in a game where there female characters are being added which will only promote further toxicity among the community because stabs are still not fixed, I mean have you seen Bastard Sword? Have you actually, legitimately, with your eyes completely open seen its fucking stabs? We've said it a thousand times, and we'll say it a thousand more: held block has no place in a game where timing is the key component of a toxic gaming environment in which female characters will be added. Here's three (3) quick reasons why not: people don't want to hear the annoying voices, people find pain grunts and death screams from female voices to be off-putting, and the fucking Bastard Sword I mean have you actually seen this beast? Every time I see one of those Heater/BS jokers it's no wonder this game has such a toxic community. Fleshwound has no place in comp. Oh and don't get me started on held block, which has no place in a game where the Bastard Sword is still untouched, and how long has it been since the last patchie? You're honestly telling me with a straight face that stabs are fine, the very same stabs that you can perform with a Bastard Sword exploit, are completely fine. The main problem is that the noobs have tasted the forbidden fruit of held block, and ripping it away from them will be like taking a Bastard Sword from a baby. Where the fuck is patchie? Remember that guy who replaced all of the blood in giru's body with piss? Even he understands why female characters should never be added to Mordhau. It doesn't take a genius to see why held block has no place in a game with stab gambles. The other day I was in duels and this absolute crutchie with a Bastard Sword gambled me with underhand stab morph accels, and it made me realize how fucked Mordhau is going to be once they add female characters to this game. Held block is an exploit, there, I said it, and exploits like that have no place in a game where toxicity and corrupt gaming journalism is the driving factor for decisions made by the development team, the same development team that allows Bastard Sword stabs, and held block, to remain in the game, which have no place in a game where females shields stabs toxicity exploits and Bastard Sword.

oh no people are having fun!
it's not even like there's a rating system or rewards for winning currently.

A video doesn't show a cheat engine. Just the cheat.

a video determines whether or not they are cheating in the first place. based on your original post, I'd assume the guy just had really good upper body movement and was making his attacks difficult to chamber. without a video there can be no discussion, because there's nothing to analyse, only the very big assumption that you're experienced enough to tell the difference between hacking and a skilled player.

How to deal with

racists, sexists, and toxic players

in other words: people that you don't like.

35IQ_TOMATO.png

METHOD 1

Individual method - deal with individual toxic players.

st1h1xDd2N.gif

Simply left-click on the toxic player in your chat box, which will open up a menu.

You have 3 options from here:

  • Mute - This will simply mute the player, hiding their nasty messages from sight.
  • Motivational Mute - This will convert all of the bad things they say into good things.
  • Votekick - Not recommended unless the player is actively teamkilling, hacking, etc.

METHOD 2

Bulletproof method - never deal with toxicity again!

lmI0wLYCSB.gif

Simply go to your options and turn off chat. Simple as that!

Mordhau is not a game where seeing chat is necessary, and often times simply turning chat off can make the game more peaceful and relaxing. If you're easily offended by certain words, and never want to see them again, this is the premiere method!

There, was that so hard?

Honestly it's kind of weird that you have to buy the same cosmetic multiple times for a slightly different version. Most notably things like the knight's chain + shoulder pad variants. It should either use a different slot, or have built-in variations.

The main issue is that horses cost nothing to use, but a lot to counter.

They're the most powerful thing in the game, with no straight-forward counter, and they are absolutely free. Toolbox and billhook is a reasonable counter, but that costs 13 points and not many people want to spend the entire match trying to chase down horses and block them with a toolbox. Worst of all, you might pull him off the horse and not even manage to kill him afterwards. Whether you're trying to take them down with projectiles or a billhook, in the time it takes to pin down a single rider, they've already gotten 10+ couched kills on your allies.

Solution A: Make Horses cost a Gamemode Resource
Players could earn tactical resources when playing Frontline whenever they do objectives. They can spend these resources to spawn themselves (or their teammates) Horses, Siege weapons, or even things like bandages and weapons. This would also incentivize more people to actually do the objectives! For the average Frontline player, it's easy to forget the objectives even exist.

Solution B: Make Horses a Loadout Investment (Perks)
We could add Perks that make you effective on horseback. Without them, horses will mostly be a way to travel. This would leave cavalry with less points to spend, unless they have an ally to buy them a weapon.

Make couched attacks deal significantly less damage (even a lance won't 1-shot anymore), then add this perk:

  • [2 Points] Lancer Perk (Couched attacks deal bonus damage)

Make all melee weapons dismount riders, then add this perk:

  • [2 Points] Rider Perk (You're not dismounted by melee weapons except Billhook)

Make mounting and dismounting horses very slow, then add this perk:

  • [1 Points] Gaucho Perk (Quickly mount and dismount horses)

etc.

Solution C: Make Horses a Loadout Investment (Items)
We could add a "Saddle" item (maybe 7 points) which you can bring to a stable area in order to spawn yourself a horse. This would mean that if you want to use a spear, you'd have to find one or get a teammate to buy you one.

Some mechanics:

  • There will be a limit of how many horses are available for each team.
  • If someone steals your horse, you cannot spawn another one until it's been killed.
  • Your horse will die within 5 seconds if brought to an inaccessible area (enemy spawn, out of bounds).
  • Saddles cannot be dropped or given to allies, but you can spawn the horse and give it to an ally.

Other potential suggestions / ideas:

  • Two-way mounted bonus damage; full-speed rider takes extra damage when struck by someone on the ground.
  • Make knocking a rider off their horse give points, give an actual incentive for people to hunt down horses.
  • Anti-cavalry ranged weapon (or even alternate ammo) that deals bonus damage to horses, or even slows them down.
  • Traps designed specifically for horses, for when bear-traps aren't enough. (Tripwire maybe?)
  • Pike that can be "readied" and kills horses that run into it
  • Heavy Tower Shield that is great at stopping couched attacks and siege weapons.
  • Back-shields stop couched attacks like projectiles, but ragdoll and damage you slightly

if you have any suggestions to add to this, let's hear 'em.

it's a good experimental map because it's got a major vertical element. the middle area is really fun, but the rest of the map is just incredibly lackluster. I think it has potential if updated.

it's simple really: add secondary objectives, one for each team, just outside of the castle area.

this will make the map interesting, instead of a glorified king of the hill map, and give you a reason to be anywhere other than mid.

you know those static defense barriers you can hit with a blacksmith's hammer to repair?
no, you don't, because you've probably never been over there before.

currently being anywhere except the middle objective is straight up trolling, and that's a serious problem with the map design.
single objectives are mindless and repetitive.
instead of deciding between defending or pushing forward, you just fight in a single spot over and over for the entire game.

critique aside, that center area is really fun, this map has potential.

Stage 1 - Panicky Pete
Is terrified of everything and will just spam parries until they die. Only attacks when he outnumbers his opponent, and prefers to keep a distance. Prone to accidentally killing allies who are covered in blood.
Favorite weapon(s): Spear

Stage 2 - Morphin' Moe
Has learned that morphing is extremely effective against most players, and uses them for almost every attack. Will fall back to panic parrying if they think their opponent is better than them.
Favorite weapon(s): Slow, high-damage weapons

Stage 3 - Gamblin' Garry
Has learned that the natural counter to morphs is to just gamble without reading. Almost never parries or tries to defend themselves, as they think the best defense is a good offense.
Favorite weapon(s): Fast 1-handed weapons with a shield

Stage 4 - Ripostin' Ricardo
Rather than relying on crutches, has decided they want to actually learn how to play the game. Focuses on parrying attacks and riposting afterward, still spams morphs frequently to throw off opponents. Rarely gambles, as it is counter-intuative to learning to read attacks.
Favorite weapon(s): Two-handers

Stage 5 - Fundementals Frank
Realizes the value in footwork and accels/drags, since they are stamina-free ways of improving their offense and defense. Starting to use morphs and feints intelligently so they can actually throw off good opponents.
Favorite weapon(s): Two-handers

Stage 6 - Yeet
Realizes that getting good at this game is a waste of time, and will require hundreds if not thousands of hours to play at the highest level due to the enormous skill ceiling. Resorts to firebomb spamming and roleplaying in duelyards. Is secretly a master of basics and can easily beat 99% of players in a duel, but chooses to just fuck around instead.
Favorite weapon(s): Maul
