convince the enemy team to stop wearing pavices on their back.
until then I'm afraid there's not much you can do.
aim for their legs I guess.

Some things to point out:

  • You already get 25 HP on kill without Bloodlust
  • Less armor means vulnerable to burst damage/surprise kills
  • Weak starting weapon means your kills will be slowed down until you find an upgrade
  • You are very reliant and getting the last hit - if your ally gets the kill, it will fuck you over
  • Lack of important utilities (Friendly, Fireproof, Pavice, Bandages) will get you killed often

So you've been vote-kicked for no reason, eh? You were just minding your own business and suddenly someone decided to call that vote, maybe they even fabricated a reason in chat like "TKing troll", and you were kicked from the match? Or maybe they did have a reason but it was an effervescent reason at best, like you accidentally killed them once, or tried to use the catapult for a moment. Well the bottom line is that you don't think you deserved to be vote-kicked, and yet despite your best efforts to say "please downvote" or "bogus votekick, page down", you were kicked anyways.

Well let's start by clearing up some misconceptions: if you were votekicked successfully, then in the opinion of the players in that server, you did actually deserve to be kicked. You might think of yourself as an african american citizen who took a 2-year plea deal instead of facing trial tax because the legal system is fundamentally-racist and completely broken; in other words: a victim of injustice. You might think of yourself as the target of a bunch of morons that immediately hit page up while giggling to themselves at the idea of randomly kicking someone like a typical game of mafia or town of salem.

But at the end of the day: the majority of players on your team/in that server decided it was time for you to pack your things and leave. I'm looking in my crystal ball right now, when Mordhau finally adds female models, and people votekick you for having a female character while saying "kick this roastie" - and of course it will pass. It wouldn't surprise me even for one minute to see every bastard sword and kiteshield wielding female character to be kicked on sight, especially by sadmins in a private duel server.

But let's not get too far off topic here: is this just how things are? Unbridled chaos where nobody is safe from votekicking? Is there nothing you can do as a self-proclaimed innocent player to avoid being kicked by this "toxic community" as some call it? Well for starters, you have to be the change in the world. Next time you see a votekick: you need to immediately say "page down", "bogus votekick", or something similar in chat. You could even call out the person who started the votekick, and say they are abusing the votekick system.

I mean yes, there are some rare instances where someone is actually rampantly TKing, trolling, etc., and obviously you should use your best judgement, but in general you must do what you can to contribute towards preventing votekick abuse. Even if the person being voted up is a known bastard sword and shield user who morphs literally every single attack and their steam name is "you do you boo" and their avatar is some obnoxious looking anime girl with a transgender flag behind it - you must stay resilient, and page down for the greater good. Avoid bandwagon mentality, and encourage others to only kick those who truly deserve it, and not just hit page up every time they see that pop-up.

Not only will you make the community a better, friendlier, and more reasonable place - you will ultimately reduce the chance of being votekicked yourself. One day you might even see someone returning the favor, a person you've never seen before, saying "page down" as you are randomly voted up. It'll be the year 2020, you'll be running around screaming with your high-pitched female voice, your steam name will contain gender pronouns, your avatar is a picture of a transgendered woman with blue dyed hair winking and sticking their tongue out, you're using bastard sword and buckler which still hasn't been nerfed for some ungodly reason, and you'll have unironically accused multiple people of being both virgins and neo-nazis - and yet you still won't be kicked because the accumulation of your good deeds will have finally caught up and spared you from a votekick that you probably really actually deserved.

remove shield. tighter exe turncap. mounted artificial range and bonus damage at low gears. rework huntsman. underhand waterfalls. castello. feitoria. actual rewards for ranked. new progression system in general that cannot be afk-cheesed. API-data like weapon usage statistics.

If you attempt to react based on visuals, you are going to get hit. Latency + accels means animations are unreadable.

Firebombs have been nerfed to the point that fireproof is no longer a necessity, not even in FL/Invasion.

Lower Couched Weapon Damage to around 75

Unironically a good idea because they'll probably still die anyways, and you'll get kill credit, but it won't be an guaranteed death.

It could still deal 100 damage to the head, of course, just not to the torso.

Very nice video you've provided to illustrate that weapon hitboxes don't match their models.

Thanks, great post!

As a 2h weapon main: Shields are not balanced. Their "poor stam drain negation" and "gimped movement speed" are nothing compared to the ability to avoid reading all manner of feints, morphs, drags, etc. You salty shieldies are just scared that you might have to read drags and morphs some day, and that you can't just cheese your way into diamond in ranked. Adjust your playstyle and learn to parry instead of begging the devs to protect you from getting worse. Shields are boring as fuck to play against. Figure out how to play without them.

You are probably very far away from the closest server because of where you live, unfortunately.

However... it could be a routing issue instead. I don't know enough about this issue to know how to fix it, but I was getting "double ping" to certain official servers in the past. Rather than getting around 36~40 I expected, I was getting about 72 to 80, so exactly double. Some servers were normal, some were double. All of them were official servers of the same location. So here's where it gets real weird... I turned on my VPN (a paid one, not a freebie one), and connected to the servers I was getting double ping on, and I was getting normal ping. Weird, right? If the same is true for you, it might be a hint to why you're getting abnormally high ping.

They are just too powerful of a thing to be available for free.

The following is just a list of possible ideas that don't involve removing them entirely.

Earn Tactical Resources to buy Horses with

  • In Frontline, players could collect "Tactical Resources" by doing objectives and/or getting kills, which they can spend to spawn in Horses (with spawn limits of course) - rather than just being this free thing that spawns in a fixed location you can jump on and use. Tactical resources could also be used to buy siege weapons, bandages/medical kits, or even special weapons. That way, taking down a Horse or enemy siege weapon would feel very rewarding, because you are actually hurting the enemy's resource pool.
  • Downside: None that I could see, as long as spawn limits are done properly.

Add a bounty mechanic.

  • The more kills a player gets without dying, the more their bounty goes up, awarding additional score and draining additional tickets from the enemy team when killed. That way, when you finally kill that damn rider, you get a huge score to compensate you for all of your hardwork. This will incentivize more people to actively hunt down horses, thus indirectly nerfing them. By making high bounties drain many tickets, you won't have to worry avoid people losing the game because they're chasing down horses instead of controlling capture points.
  • Downside: it will make people salty if they get their kill stolen.

Require perks to be efficient with Horses.

  • Significantly nerf horses, then add Perks that allow you to deal extra damage with couched/rideby attacks, dismount/mount them faster, better control/turning, activate sprint to make the horse move faster for a short period of time, etc. Without any perks, Horses will just be a way to travel between areas. With all of the perks, Horses will feel as they do now: extremely powerful, but you will have to actually invest points into your character. If I have to spend 8 points on a Toolbox to deal with Horses, then I don't see why riders shouldn't spend some points to be effective riders as well.
  • Downside: None that I can see, but depending on how it's done it might not be a big enough nerf.

Require perks to attack while on Horses

  • Simple alternate idea to the one above: just make an 8 point perk called "Rider". Without it, you cannot attack while on a horse.
  • Downside: Unintuitive, less fun, and after killing a guy on horse you can't take his horse for a quick joyride and get a few kills.

Horse kills drain tickets.

  • If a horse dies, it drains a significant amount of tickets from the owner's team. This adds consequences to using Horses, and rewards those that seek them out, sort of like the Bounty System.
  • Downside: Allows troll players to "Feed" with Horses and drain their team's tickets, so it's probably not a good idea by itself.

One per player

  • This is a simple alternative to the tactical resources idea. Basically each player has the option to spawn themselves a Horse from the team's stables. You can only do this once per game, and there's a spawn limit (depends on the map). Theoretically you could have players spawn horses for their team even if they don't intend to use them, but it would still make the number of horses finite.
  • Downside: Probably won't solve anything because you still have 20~32 horses per team depending on how many people are in the game, and I doubt you'll need more than that. Furthermore it might create toxicity from players stealing each others horses, or refusing to spawn ones in to help their teammates.

...Just Remove Them (for now)

  • Yeah well, you could just remove them too. Put them back in when Developers have a real solution. Not an ideal solution, but if you ask me, it's probably better than nothing. Generally speaking Horses, while fun to use, are not fun for anyone else involved: not even their own team.
  • Downside: horse "mains" will rage

Hello!
I've taken the liberty of rewriting OP's post as a convenient summary:

  • I like the game, but it's not perfect.
  • I think the weapon hitboxes are misleading compared to the viewmodel/worldmodel.
  • There are enough gimmicks to entertain me, the combat is too simple.
  • I don't like attack manipulation (i.e. drags).
  • I don't like feints.
  • Fuck rapier.
  • Make arrows deflect off of armor if shot at non-direct angles.
  • Small weapons should not be able to parry large weapons.
  • Seriously, fuck rapier.
  • I get routinely punished for gambling, and that is a major issue with the game.
  • Any mechanic of the game I'm unfamiliar with is an exploit.
  • I think the game is fun despite my complaints
  • If anything I've said here is wrong, point it out, so I can verify my facts.
  • Thanks

Honestly stuff like this occurs so infrequently it's not really a big deal. I understand you're salty that you got trolled hard and wrongfully votekicked, but shit happens. Just move on, find a new server. Griefers win by pissing you off, so don't let yourself get mad over it, just laugh it off and move on.
