The irony of a binds user saying this. Surely you know how difficult it is to consistently execute a max angle underhand or overhead with 240. Yet binds give you the advantage of performing these superior attacks with ease.

240 as a control scheme is perfectly fine, but the advantages it provides are an issue. It doesn't matter how hard you personally find 240 to be, it provides an inherent mechanical advantage. If you become comfortable enough with 240 that the control scheme doesn't hinder you anymore, then it's objectively better than binds.

Furthermore, you can use auto-hotkey to emulate a bind with any 240 angle. For instance, you could pick the most ugly-looking 240 overhead angle and make it so mousewheel down always performs that exact angle. Not only does this mean binds are essentially impossible to take out of the game, it further highlights the issues with 240 as a system.

just because you don't want to use it doesn't mean it should be removed

why get rid of the other 234 angles when the animation tech already supports them?

Extra angles allow more precision and removing them would reduce the freedom allowed.

I think we all want attacks to be more readable, but removing the freedom of attacks from the game isn't the way to do this.

There shouldn't exist a control scheme that provides advantages to its user outside of comfort and preference IMO.

We're not going to go in and make 6 new animations per weapon type when we already have a system that works.

I like that you have to choose between running quickly and knowing how close the enemy is.

My main issue with 3rd person right now is that it essentially allows you to do both.

While we're on the subject, just remove 240 entirely.
You'll still be able to angle your attacks with the mouse, it'll just be locked to the 6 primary angles.

Medieval Europe already offers a huge variety of styles, so if they're smart it probably won't stray far from European stuff. Best case scenario you'll be able to hack together certain gear to give yourself a vaguely middle-eastern look.

How about making the parry/block size accurate to the shield model...

that would make shields incredibly inconsistent

Held-block shouldn't drain stamina, because then it would lose the one thing it's meant to be really good at: blocking projectiles. There are other options, however, such as losing a lot more stamina when blocking a melee attack if your shield has been raised for longer than the parry window.

Honestly the solution is simple. The unique benefit of a shield right now is the ability to hold block, which is a failed experiment. All you have to do is remove held-block (it can still be used to block projectiles, but worthless vs. melee) and give shields a different unique benefit instead. You could make it give active parry when riposting. Maybe it could have better parrying-angles and use less stamina when tap-blocking. Shield-bashing or shoving people. The possibilities are endless.

Votekick can and will be abused: a lot. If it's anything like Chivalry, the votekick system will be nothing more than a griefing tool: especially if it pops up and blocks part of my screen while I'm trying to fucking play the game. God I hated that.

whenever I get real tired of getting dominated I just pull out a shield and mace/AS/BS and suddenly I'm at the top of the scoreboard.

for future reference it's generally not a good idea to showcase the efficiency of a build by showing a random scoreboard screenshot. A lot of the people in that server are relatively new or below-average players. Some of them may have been trying quirky builds, or just fucking around, etc. It would be a lot more meaningful if you said using shields was effective versus notably good players. you'd get destroyed by anyone who knows how to properly punish players who just hold block and never riposte. just saying.

and here's Koda's post rewritten by someone without an ego problem:

Often when see an enemy that is super bloody, I try to finish them off so they can't heal, only for them to survive my 34 damage hit. Maybe it's not such a big deal, but it seems unintuitive to hit someone who's bleeding from every square inch of their body and have them take that hit no big deal. I suggest only having heavy blood on someone if they are <25 health.

Just try to have fun and constantly try new stuff. If you're enjoying the game, you'll naturally pick up on things over time.

The voices in mordhau are already good, but a lot people are just using the default one right now.

The biggest problem with voices in mordhau is that the armory UI is atrocious right now. For instance, I have like 15 clones of the same 3/3/3 knight with minor gear changes between each one, and I cannot be arsed to bother going through and changing the voice for all of those, so I just leave it on the default. Not to mention I find myself making new loadouts every single patch as new gear is added, and existing gear sees constant changes in point costs. Until the armory UI is improved, and the way you select your characters has been reworked, I won't go too far out of my way to customize the voices. For the most part, the only time people make an effort to change the voice is when they're creating some new roleplay loadout.

Now it just feels like a silly for honor thing with a magical revenge mode or some shit.

and a magical barrier that automatically parries all incoming attacks is somehow not?

Just sayin'.

Try running medium head, heavy chest, medium/light legs.
Heavy helmet is good against projectiles but most big weapons 2-shot heavy and 2-shot medium as well, so it's not a necessary thing for melee.

Except when you lose so much HP from getting hit in the head that it opens you up for more ways to die due to the wide variety of weapons being used on the battlefield at any given point. Taking even 10 extra damage because you weren't wearing a heavy helmet means you could die in 1 less hit to many different attacks.
