It's simple, there should not be a mechanic to help you in 1vX situations, as the only thing that gets you out of them, should be your own skill, or your teammates.

Don't know why it ever went any other way.

If you put yourself into a 1vX situation, that's your fault, the game shouldn't hold your fucking hand.

If the rest of your team dies and you're left in a 1vX situation, well tough shit, it happens.

without any 1vX mechanic, 2v2/3v3 skirmishes would feel a lot worse. as soon one person dies on a team, that team basically loses instantly. with a 1vX mechanic, you can actually clutch in 1v2 scenarios and win, which makes the game a lot more deep and interesting. I've spectated a lot of 2v2 top-level games and the 1v2 clutches are by far my favorite part to watch. and yeah it's possible to clutch even without this mechanic, but only if you're an absolute god / significantly better than your opponents, and would make the competitive side of the game even less accessible than it already is.

Just placed into my favourites.
That said, I just watched the video and hated the fact that tomatoes are actively RDMed in toxic VQ servers. So basically the consequence will be that instead of actually getting to play the game and have fun we will have the players swinging carelessly into tomatoes all the time. Because who cares, right?
Unfortunately I'll probably skip buying the game just for that.

I think light and medium armor should provide benefits that don't make them significantly better in direct combat. So light armor would take the least fall damage, medium would take slightly more, and heavy would take the most fall damage. It doesn't have to be a major difference, just enough that you feel a little more nimble. Light armor will be bad in duels (as it should be) but decent in a big battle gamemode where you have complex terrain to navigate.

some possible passive benefits for having lighter armor:

  • faster ladder climbing
  • less fall damage
  • quicker horseback-mounting
  • stand up quicker after ragdolling from a fall
  • vault animation is faster
  • regenerate outside of combat quicker

some possible perks that scale with lighter armor

  • jump kick (Lighter armor = goes further / is quicker)
  • tumble when falling great heights to reduce damage (Lighter armor = less damage, faster tumble)
  • jump off horses any time and tumble with minor damage (Lighter armor = less damage, faster tumble)
  • super jump to help navigate certain maps, but can't attack during it (Lighter armor = higher jump)
  • dodge, same as the current one (Lighter armor = uses less stamina)
  • vertical wallrun like gayfish said (Lighter armor = higher maximum climb)
  • various archery buffs that are better with lighter armor

The scaling concept is namely because I hate the idea of making it so heavy armor cannot use certain things. I really don't like the idea of creating classes, even pseudo-classes. On a sidenote, huntsman should be removed and replaced with an innate mechanic where you take increased damage from projectiles while aiming a ranged weapon, and archery customization should be significantly unfucked so we're not running around with 0/0/0 longbow warhammer huntsman.

of course you don't even reference the other shield threads or quote the ideas of anyone else. you don't want to have an actual discussion, you just came here to wave your opinion around. no mention of removing held-block, or having different shields fulfill unique roles, etc. you just put "SOLUTION" then list 4 shallow suggestions that are barely explained. you don't contrast your ideas against the dozens of other possibilities out there, you just state your ideas as if they are the only sensible changes and the others don't even deserve to be mentioned.

not saying the current chambers are fine, no they are terrible in fact, but old chambers were much worse. the tiny chamber window was an unrealistic expectation for low level play to manage, and not viable at higher level play due to how inconsistent they were in the face of even the most basic mixups. it has almost nothing to do with animations.

Eastern Invasion was a stretch goal for the kickstarter but it wasnt reached. So maybe they will add it in later after release.
