Honestly there should be an enforced / voluntary Autobalance with some compensation / incentive to stay in the match, say +200 Gold for getting Autobalanced and +400 if you pull your new team trough.

I like you idea though, it would add some flair to the otherwise sometimes pretty stale matches.

Some Invasion Maps also still need tweaks from my limited experience (Camp), but otherwise the new Mode is shaping up to be really good.

The chokes on Taigas 1 Red Cap point and on MP Red Base need to go, 100% certain the Devs are aware of that and going to fix it in the next 2 patches. Crossroads was in the focus here because it was unfinished to begin with and just a bloody mess in general. I also feel the Camp on Taiga is a bit too hard to cap from either side, spawn reinforcments come very quickly and dont really split up that much.

At some point we need Autobalance for Team Matches and a better Comback mechanic for FL.

Dont adress major problems with the main mode, delay crucial fixes that could potentially help with some issues in favour of ranked mode that only gets 5% of the playerbase rock hard and combine all that with very little transparency/community invovment for the last 3 months.

Disagree here, this just means that Riders have to be more picky about their targets they will prefer Archers or people who are not aware of their presence. Most weapons will still struggle against Horses, but Polearms should be a legit countermeasuere now. Like you said, Spear and Halb on a Horse need to be nerfed though so other weapons can be solid alternatives.

Agree with the overall sentiment, couching is the most retarded thing about Horse combat.

Apart from the Hitbox/Stagger nerf thats coming the charge should be way more limited and situational, either by more restricting turn angles, higher speed floor, or as you mentioned it, by timing.

Spear/Halb on a horse should be nerfed in several ways: Reducing couch range to Bardiche levels (Which is still pretty great, but not as forgiving/braindead as Spear and Halb charges). And Reducing their stab range to Billhook/Bardiche levels. If we nerf couched Weapons we still have tons of only half braindead horse riders who know that regular spear stabs are just slightly less retarded than couching. I really wish that the other Polearms would be more popular than they are right now.

Knights on horses (with swords, mauls, etc) are absolute trash. I say that because (and i haven't done any research to verify this) but the hitboxes on swords, various 2 handers, do not work very well. I've seen hits go straight through the enemy as I'm passing by them without any damage.

This is straigh up wrong, you can have amazing results with almost any weapon on a horse.

Spears are the only issue I can see, and afaik they're working as intended. They piss me off for sure, but that's to be expected. Everything angers me. I'm an angry person.

Good you aknowledge that because 95% of horse riders will use the spear and just go on couch cruise control, brainlessly oneshotting everyone who still has not a PTSD.

How to fix Horse:

Reduce Collision Hitbox for Flinch.
Increase turning radius for couched horses by a good margin .
Incerase minimum speed requirement for couching.
Decrease acceleration for all Horses.
Reduce Attack Range for Halberd and Spear Stabs.
Optimal: Melee and Throwing Weapons deal more damage to horses and riders depending on the current speed of the rider/angle of the attack.

Genoese Crossbows sound interesting since they are historically relevant and a nice reference to Age of Empires II.
On the other hand probaly 90+% of melee players are against a equivalent to a Medival AWP (AKA Chivalrys Heavy Crossbow) in this game.

I do think that a PvP gamemode with 64 players will always be full of degenerates.

But the issue is that alot of new/casual players will be off put when the see some holocaust denier or constant racial spam/bait in chat. And we kinda want to keep these people since we need food. Mute again solves the issue, but if you have to mute mutiple people it kinda gets depressing, not to mention that every player in the server has to deal with it.
Its a really good solution if youre specifically harassed or for the one salt driven slur barrage from a Rank 15.

The underlying problem is that we have offical rules, but no one gives rats ass since they cant be enforced by Jax alone.
This kinda unwilling laissez faire approach essentially gives a free pass to all the trolls/edgelords/retards in the community to just go ham, which is reflected in the in-game chat, the subreddit and sometimes here. Which again, can drive normal people away from the game.

FIrst of , thanks Jax for the update. Great that you clear some stuff up thats was in the air and explain how it kinda came to these statements. Also a fuckup from PCGaming, but i dont think that was mean spirited considering the game has recieved lots of positive from the Outlet.

At the moment we are stretched thin with major important content additions and unfortunately we do not have the staff nor systems > in->place to moderate everything to our intended level of standards. We plan on improving in this regard

Spawns in general need to be readjusted for 64 player servers. Some adjustments for spawn location ,possibly even extending the respawn time.

Blue Team on Camp has a massive disadvantage if Red caps River, but Red wont be able to complete the objective since the cart has to go pretty close to the base. Red always wins through ticket drain since the stalemate close to the river rarely swings in a decisive fashion.

Taiga Camp is incredible hard to take for blue, long ass walking distance, grindy choke points and the camp itself that can be easily fortified(Not to mention that the spawn is pretty close and the place it littered with 3-5 archers).Unless you absolutly want to gutter your K/D and your mood you have to play defensive or with a well organized team. Blue Objective win is pretty much a myth, never seen one here. Catapult could be useful for Blue here tbh.

Grad is pretty decent, but once Red controls the Smith is essentially over, Blue has a hard time getting out of the castle and Red controls a large connected area with great LOS on other engagements. Other than this Grad is really likeable.

Coldfront is well-balanced, i see a lot of close games here and both teams have a pretty good shoot on taking an objective win.

Im pretty sure the Devs have already a good grasp of the things that need to be fixed, but im still throw my 2cents in here.

Main concern for me is that bodyfeints (or hiding your attacks in general through body movement) are very strong with the fluent animations and the angled systems for parrys/chambers ,even more so than in Chiv. I could see that new players and popular Youtubers will start to encouter those strats, get destroyed and consequently quit the game or jump on that aspect in their review and the Game gets braned with a similar stigma Chiv had (Spinny, Ballerinas etc).This might be exaggerated, but is still something that tilts a good portion of the playerbase if it happens to them.

Having a mechanic that punishes extreme bodyfeintig like Predator showed can be a good idea, but its would be hard to enable a cap/trigger without gimping players in 1vsX. The Devs could also decide that its part of the skillcurve and bodyfeinting has its place in Mordhau. Anyways i think the game already has a pretty high skillfloor and reducing the amout of confusing tactics would be a great way to attract an keep more casual players.

Im also on the boat for for the changes Jax and Vanguard have mentioned here.
(More nuanced strike angles in windup and faster parry animation)
I feel some 2handers have the Norse Sword sydrome, windup is not different enough from idle/running stance (This is just how it feels for me sometimes because i ran into way too much Messer combos).

Having the ability to bind LMB+Button for angled attacks would be great.(Since i cant overcome my inner Chiv player)

This has been already mentioned, but Clashs and Chambers probaly need more distinct audio and video clues.

Long shot, but 2-player emotes would be great at some point.(Similar to the TF2 system).

Regarding the more Important changes, Kick recovery incerase and slower kicks after a Feint /Morph sounds great. Kicks are really breaking the flow of combat atm and i hope these changes will make them easier to punish/easier to read.

Warhammer,Shield Stam and Spear changes are great.

Edit: After getting bullied by Light Armor Pikeman in Duel servers the Picture above also applies to the Spear buff.

Interested how the overhead/undercut ping compensation will play out.
