Others have spoken on shields plenty enough already.

I play a lot of archer and can tell you that archers are plenty powerful in this game, you just have to be practiced enough to be useful with it.

The only bow that is "weak" is Recurve but it is extremely quick to shoot and extremely powerful in quick and accurate hands. Recurve is actually the bow I use most.

Trust me man, archers are good you just need more practice

Also you can bring good shit with archer. Here is an example (AND this class still has huntsman)

For the price of that War Axe (1 to 2htk any class) you could bring a arming sword and Kite Shield so I mean you can have good shit. Bringing good armor as an archer isnt very good for 2 reasons

1) archers have a small speed debuff so bringing lighter armor counteracts this somewhat.

2) Huntsman perk longbow and crossbow 1 shot every torso anyway, even heavy. So if youre fighting other archers the extra armor is just going to slow you down and make you easier to hit, along with the fact that the armor won't help much in melee when all you have is a dagger or shortsword.

Rapier is dogshit, swings do no damage, stabs get chambered and you lose it in a few seconds unless you have a buckler which makes the whole combo 7 cost and even then its damage is pathetically weak. Yeah, sure, it's fast. But even if you get hit 5 times it doesn't really matter since you hit the enemy twice with a real weapon and they fall over. Which is not hard when all your stamina gets drained in mere moments while using the rapier. All the rapier is good for is memeing new players, if anything it should be removed because everyone would be outraged with the only other viable option, which is buffing it.

I don't think it is dogshit but its stamina really is. Pre buckler it wasnt a very viable weapon withput stam perks, especially when bastard sword is basically the same but better.

I used it successfully more than most people in NA so I think saying this holds some merit.

Shields simply need the hitbox to be accurate to the model. Them having a size bigger than that is bull since people can just hold the shield up for as long as they please.

Doesn’t make any sense for apart of the sides or legs to be protected.

Rapiers and Spears— you just need to adapt to them. Stop having the mindset of “everyone is just gonna use 2h swords”, adapt to the variety of weapons that Mordhau has.
Learn to chamber. Stab chambers are easy to pull off.

The problem with rapier and short spear is that they can easily chamber your chamber. To get around that, you have to generally morph your stab into an overhead. But if you're using a 2H, the rapier and spear spamming stab is way faster than that morph.

I'm not really complaining about them, as I don't have an issue with them much anymore, but they do stab maybe a little too fast.

This is not true if you accel the morph. I find sideswings to be the superior accels instead of overheads too.

Even maul can catch rapier if acceled hard enough, admittedly with a little luck in this extreme of a case.

Also you could always like just parry and riposte them. Can't be flinched during a riposte so even if they successfully gamble you, you'll just hit them anyway.

It honestly infuriates me a little how often I have to tell people they don't have to wait for the block animation to end before they can hit back. It is honestly a failure of the tutorial imo that so many people coming out of it don't know something as fundamental as the riposte, though I guess it's possible that 99% of them blew through it for the gold without paying attention.

Basically the only time these weapons become cancer is when paired with a held block shield and thats more of a problem with the shields rather than the weapon

As an archer light armor is usable and honestly preferable in a lot of situations but yeah its 2htk vs most stuff.

There's nothing crutchy about stabs, new players are just new and can't deal with them

Shield in 1v1 isn't broken but they pretty much guarantee a gank will be successful. 1vXing with one of the enemies having a shield is pretty much a death sentence.

Timed parry shields like buckler and targe are different.

The dumbest part about this is people thinking it would be balanced to make heavy armor a free win checkmate ordeal.

Seems like they were just looking for nonexistent "problems" to me

Here's a very silly spin-heavy kill I got.

Those are just basic accels with you spinning afterwards. If your swing was still active instead of parried already you would not be able to turn the camera that quick

No problems to be found here

if by "annoying helicopter 360 degree move" you mean leaning back and hitting someone behind you: no, that is gone.

But if you mean turning around to hit someone who is behind you, yes you can do that. I don't mean reverses, I mean you turn and look at him to hit him.

However spinning around too far reduces your dmg to like 10 so you cannot really just beyblade like chivalry

There is also a turncap in place, unique to each weapon, that is unaffected by mouse sensitivity. So it is only possible to turn so much.
