Brighter maps akin to grad!? YAY! Was getting sick of the sunset darkened clustermaps like Crossroads & Taiga.

Very excited about the other upcoming stuff too. Hype is returning.

Horses right now, in their current state, are frustrating. It's alienating new players and affecting retention because they're a consistent annoyance and overly effective. Yes, you can switch builds to a billhook and your sole role is to try and destroy them - but then that's you going out of your way to play a build you don't want to play to answer to a frustration. Not exactly fun.

Potential tweak? Longer respawn timers on horses. Easy. They still remain relevant but just not fucking everywhere all the time.

When the game was released I played with two of my friends, and they no longer play. The reason why? Too many frustrating elements of gameplay getting in the way of just having a few decent fights. IE, ballistas, firepots, spinners and horses. The rest I can talk them out of; spinning isn't actually all that effective and can be countered by parries or footwork. Firepots are mostly useless after fireproof perk, ballistas are few and far between (just accept that sometimes you're gonna get knocked to Jupiter by one), but horses? Yeah. They're just too much of a dominating presence, and really do cause frustration. You finally kill the cavalry but it'll be right back, it almost seems pointless trying.

Remember when Chivalry had that map making contest? We got some good maps out of that. Would be cool to have something similar here.

I was disappointed in Crossroads as it emphasised the parts of the game I personally find the most frustrating: projectiles and horses. I was hoping it would be the more urban style maps that were teased a while back. Hopefully they'll come soon. As far as Crossroads is concerned, and as a new major map release, it only ended up making me step away from the game for a bit.

@op here's a recent interview you can read up on if you're concerned about the roadmap: http://saveorquit.com/2018/02/22/interview-mordhau/

Just some insight to their approach with it. In my opinion, it's encouraging and makes sense from a development perspective.

Yeah, pretty lame video. I don't actually get the point of it -- the last bit made me cringe. 'Next big RPG I'm british'.. it's not even an RPG, and were you trying to be funny?

Don't get it.

Also maybe if you elaborated on your points it may help your argument; you said they were the worst character models you've ever seen, but don't expand why? Especially when the footage you display showcases perfectly fine models. Again, I don't get it. Maybe take your "positivity" somewhere else, or at least try to be constructive.

This game shouldn't be a HEMA simulator. It would get very old and stale, very quickly. I like what the gameplay videos already suggest; a medieval slasher with tons of gore and decapitations with subtle 'nods' to HEMA such as half-swording and such.

Of Kings and Men had great gameplay. Now look at it, dead because of no content.

Gloria Victis had great content. But its combat is awful, and is a laggy mess of terrible animations and balance.

The Black Death has virtually no content or gameplay, its a miracle that it still has developers.
So basically solid mechanics and gameplay will bring in the crowd, and good content (such as map variety ect) will keep the playerbase

For me it's solid, skill based mechanics backed up by content. Personally I feel that content comes in form of a variety of maps with different and interesting settings.

I'm not overly fussed with match types as I am with map varieties. For example, I wouldn't be that enthused by playing the same desert map over and over.

I think your idea is less mechanic and feature based, and more dependent on your own ability to coordinate other players/friends/clan. It's a cool idea, and would be intimidating to come across it (assuming it works) - but really, it would be hard to organise in a 64 player match.

Fair play if you can get this rolling in a game though.

In all honesty he should get SOME kind of exclusive cosmetic that makes him instantly recognisable. 10k is a lot to drop.

A flaming sword or helm would be perfect.

Maybe not to that extent though. Would be cool to keep the games medieval grounded tones and non-fantasy.

Maybe daggers shouldn't inflict a flinch.

This seems like a slippery slope. Do you stop at daggers or move onto dirks? What about long-daggers or shortswords? I don't think that removing flinch from weapons is a good idea and I am not sure where that conversation would even end.

For me, it would end at shortswords. But I see where you're coming from.

I don't agree with taking things away either. A solution could be to change the reward for the shop going forward (like removing the title awards or changing them).
Anyone who has already spent their money should retain what was advertised.

This game is a medieval slasher. Not a medieval simulator.

I really hope they at least acknowledge and explain this.

uh oh we've got our first ever triternion mess-up abandon hope the game is ruined, like mass effect andromeda all over again, why do you keep lying triternion ur just like EA and Activision

Don't be hyperbolical. Maybe my wording was a bit preachy or whatever, but I just want them to clear this up. I know it's not a huge fucking issue, and it will certainly not be the end of my excitement for this game if someone else gets a meaningless title despite not being meant to originally.

I was debating whether or not to say this all in that post because in that form it might rustle someone. Guess I should have.

Yeah, this has in no way reduced my excitement for what looks like an amazing game. I honestly wish it the best of success, which is why I paid the 60 bucks at the kickstarter. But I feel a little hard done by concerning the "exclusive kickstarter" rewards that can be earned through the post-campaign shop anyway. It just sort of diminishes the novelty and urgency of attempting to fund and support a title on a limited time for exclusive rewards.
