The fast weapon meta is pretty obvious.

Give more benefits to high cost / heavy 2 handed weapons like noticable stamdrain to the opponent to make it more balanced, what are your thoughts?

Needed feature to kill the shitters who lose their weapon. Annoying to get knocked out if you have a slow weapon like the zwei, eveningstar etc where its really hard to punish.

Could also put in having the more expensive weapons (including blunt weapons) do more impact on shieldstamina and blocking in general because now its just too much of the same stamina drain values regardless of weapon speed/type imo

Timing, reaction and skill doesnt equal playstyle. We're all forced to play the same way because limiting spins, drags and movement has been a high priority. Certain "playstyles" was simply seen as exploits which nerfed drags and implemented glancing blows to fuck up for people who play diffrently to appeal the noobs like most of you and the casuals crying about it.

But i understand why devs wanted to do it, its bad marketing for people to have the idea spins are still a thing because they dont know the diffrence between legit movement/mechanics and reverses.

And I already told you the zweihander isn't even heavy, the largest of them being only 8lbs. A Messer weighs the same as longsword, it's just squished down for extra meat in the blade for cutting. Look man you can be delusional as to the effectiveness of a sword of you wish, but if you really think they are 30kg bars of iron you need to get a clue. All the weight a sword does have is located in the handle anyway for better speed and defense. This in turn diminishes the impact by a great margin, so no, the size of the sword is not helping it deal with armor very much at all.

What will deal with armor is a heavy polearm or a dagger in the crotch. Take your pick.

Im not gonna argue about swords in this thread its irrelevant, maybe your right, idc. And lunge will be flat next patch so reach will infact matter alot with footwork.

And how is it worse vs heavy than zwei? Zwei also takes 3htk heavy to the torso. Basically at 10 points it would be a better halberd and all if it could 2 hit medium on slash.

I was including legs. With them included, zwei could need up to 5htk, but again zwei will have more reach than partisan. Partisan would be like alt-spear grip by default. Reach will matter alot with the new patches you will see

And why should zwei even be inherently good against heavy armor when it's just a big sword? This is something else I don't understand. I get it's a game, but realistically it should be pretty shitty compared to a halberd for dealing with heavy, but is currently on par with it. Balance, I know, it's just odd how people think zwei "should" do this or that, same as messer, when a zwei is only 5-8lbs in weight and messer being around 4-5lbs with most of that being in the handle for speed, instead of being on the end for power like a pole weapon.

Zwei and messer would deal blunt damage on heavy irl because of the size, take this greatsword as an example

The problem is most weapon types seem to be covered and we are entering into the realm of slight changes for new weapons, which, as chivalry has taught us, generally leads to some weapons being plain superior to others.

Partisan would instead take 3 stabs to medium but also 3 slashes and scale from there. 2 slash/stab for light, 2 stab / 1 slash naked (halberd should be buffed to 1 hit naked too tbh).

For Heavy it would be 3 stabs or 4 slashes.

This makes the HTK seem to be superior to spear in most cases, but the Partisan would be slower than the spear with both combos and normal windup, making the spear kill quicker with just thrusts alone. The advantage the Partisan would have over the spear being slightly better versatility and good slash drags.

As for reach, Partisan could be longer than halberd, but just short of spear.

Partisan would cost 11 points like Zwei with this balancing I believe.

I guess essentially this would make the Partisan a inbetween to the Halberd and Spear, being somewhat fast and pokey like the spear but also somewhat good at whacking fgts like the halberd, but not really good at either like the respective weapons.

Yeah agree on this except it would be more balanced with 10 points tbh, its worse than zweihander vs heavy so it make sense. But it should be really strong against medium and light armor, 2 hit both.

there's a longsword, a greatsword, and a super duper greatsword in the game right now - they're all swords, but different still. There's even going to be stabby sword soon.

Halberd and Bardiche deals chopping damage because they are in the axe-family. Partisan deals slashing damage like swords and any blade weapon so it cant be a skin for chopping damage weps

nah tho, the partisan is too visually similar to the spear, and trying to fit it in stat-wise would create a lot of overlap. It should be a skin.

The logic here is that longsword is too identical to greatsword. How many swords is in the game? Partisan is distuingishable from a spear by literally having a sword on a tip of a stick. Also while being shorter than a spear, it deals more slashing damage than the spear but lacks the reach the spear has. Not hard to balance at all imo

The devs already said they MIGHT implement this later, but i need your help and opinion. Also please know this is NOT "mordhau being like chivalry" propaganda. I'm just trying to demonstrate in hopes of adding these combos which falls naturally in the game in favour of creating diverse playstyles and more options. Let me know what you think.
