Yea not sure their reasoning for lowering it, there are 3 methods that were used in Chivalry to boost rank, and this doesn't solve any of em

True True, well months ago people were raving there is EXP and ranks involved in this game, like any other game people very much enjoy character progression, I have run hundreds of servers and having servers with No/Half EXP will die off quickly, once people learn you can get much more EXP from other servers they will stop playing on private servers at all,

Effectively killing of private servers before the game is released

I have heard a rumour that Rank/Experience on private servers will be reduced compared to the official servers, as a means to combat rank hacking/glitching, Im sure this is just that, a silly rumour. But its 2019 so you dont know these days,

So if it is correct, clarity would be nice. Suggestion would be to not kill off private servers and have equal XP through private servers!!

Except there is absolutely no reason to play the longbow.... If you aren't using the re-curve or the X-bow.

Then you are doing it wrong.

Wow i wish i verse players as bad as you get to..... A decent archer and Billhook would see you lieing on your back pretty quick if they didnt suck

It seems the latest patch has hurt alot of peoples feelings, but there are still MANY that said the latest patch is awesome.... It seems the people that grind 1000+ hours in a duel are the ones that complaining though !!

Vote kick shouldn't be added until release. Most player play on a private server. speak with the Admins and im sure they are reasonable. Vote kick is also a system that needs to administrated, Once the game is released and they have official Admins; private servers have more admins, then itll be the time.

Kicking for: using archer (in a non duels environment),
Using chambers constantly,
Winning,
Not duelling in a TDM server,
and plain old salty player from Chivalry, which is many.

There are many reasons the system will be abused if released too early. ((Above reasons i see commonly))

I'd prefer a polished game release, as should most... the wait will be worth it.... The Dev team has already shown a level of care and skill far greater than 99 first time Indie Developers.

Well see, you are running 1v1 against an archer then yes. I roll around with a group as most do rapid firing as fast as the recurve can go. Even from a distance i was not missing at all 6 hits non stop with the occasional miss. Adjust slightly from the sway and add a little flick shot and you cant miss.

But in saying this.... alot of the people who hated archers in Chiv are telling me they are much happier now.... MUCH less damage ajd to be able to parry (when you can) seems to have made alot more people alot less salty.

that new patch #17.1 fixing the LOD did wonders, server performance and even FPS issues have increased heaps. Playing with 150 bots right now and dropped 30fps opposed to 100fps.

Cheers for that, makes server owners erect

Its certainly different to chivalry at the moment, the sway and damage are a significant difference, in terms of being a sniper god. With projectile speeds slightly reduced that will change i'd imagine.

Enjoyed archer alot, I am an archer so not biased, these are my honest opinions to balance them slightly.

Long bow: is in my opinion fairly balanced, Doesnt do much damage which i like, i feel head shots need to be tweaked abit.

Recurve: Still cant figure this weapon out, if its a all round weapon, or anti archer ? It is too light, more points. To be able to one shot other archers while having decent armour... The draw is very fast making it an insane anti everything bow.

Xbow: Spot on, works well against other archers, and reload rate is excellent.

Suggestions:

  • I think the projectiles are too "laser beam" at the moment, way to fast.. slight reduction allow people to block them more effectively, also make them a little more difficult in the long range. Add some fall of shot. Make archers work for their kill !!

  • It seems projectile speed doesn't change for the type of bow ? i think Recurve should reflect its size in terms of damage and speed. considering the amount of arrows you can volley down range.

  • Cancel there is no way to cancel the draw or reload of the xbows once you started, Yelling at the screen from your impending death from the approaching Zwei.... and smashing the Parry button seems to cut it out sometimes but does not always work.

Overall: played 10 hours solid of archer today and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Disagree.... IF there was a medieval melee game released by AAA developer around that time, then i could (used loosely) agree with the OP.... but to release a game waiting for the 'Right' time.... silly. Successful games last many years... most people want to play more than one.... and seeing as there are no other hugely active Medieval Melee games "right now" << key word.... id release it sooner rather than later.... its not a movie, you arent fighting for opening weekend boxoffice revenue... you want to dominate the Genre and build its player base over the first few months.

I demand the OP hand in his Alpha key and be beheaded by a blunt butter knife.

Yea that sounds like a plan, you need the server details to be able to DDoS in most parts, not sure if there is a way of mitigating this.

In terms of providers with DDOS protection, im yet to find one in Aust, they all have this "Its a 100mbit server, cant be DDOS'd" mentality. Stupid they are!!

Exactly, refer to the part of "your team issue" Xbows are extremely easy in comparison to bows, especially light xbow. and there was no one countering him ?

Also Night, you used bow quite alot in chivalry. Especially towards the end.

P.S Archers are as effective as the wall of Melee fighters in front of you, and seeing as these players destroyed the opposing team.... it is a team game after all

In Australia feints in chivalry were extremely frowned upon, so as a community we have decided to play Mordhau to its fullest potential, all mechanics. I have found reading feints to be extremely rewarding and gives me a tingly feeling all over... i hope they add more feints just in-spite of the OP.
