I am talking about the last page that is covered with people who got banned shortly after posting.

They decided to join this thread to talk about politics for some reason - which I think is against the rules. IIRC political discussions were banned and put onto just one thread for that purpose. The phrase "political containment thread" comes to mind.

I play at night in the EU so my experience may be different, but these days I never find any non-official servers available with players. I really wanted to try Gambit's horse-free servers, but not even the SM or OA servers have players. (Maybe a Russian server is running but I'm Western EU.)

I'm guessing that since matchmaking was fixed, most people just use that to start their Frontline game and it always selects official servers - so the private servers never get going.

Is there a way to help private servers so we can have some choice (such as 48p instead of 64p, games with no projectiles, etc)?

I wouldn't be surprised if it makes a nice bell curve, but I'd love to see the real data. Although it seems that some people are losing on purpose to get to the lowest ranks which might screw the data at one end.

That is an interesting question..... you're obviously a leader of men and should be given mod powers immediately.

It seems to be a mistake, since no reason was specified and nothing was wrong with the post. When we have to ban someone we always state the reason behind it. Sorry about that. I revoked the ban.

Thanks a lot, Void. You're the man.

I will cancel the army of devastating memes I was about to unleash.

i got banned on that web site for making fun of racists. the steam global mods are all unpaid volunteers who have literally zero reason to be a mod other than the ulterior motive of yearning for power. cyber cops are gay

It's 100% not from a global Steam mod. Based on the reactions I've had so far, my money is on a Dev.

Sir Zombie, half right. Some rules completely are not on the same level. For example, someone toxic vs a hacker. Like if someone was hacking and a tker reported them, then the hacker is worse because thats more egregious. As if to report someone you must be pure. Both are problems, I think name calling is one of the smallest problems in the games, considering you can mute people. You can't prevent someone from tking you other than by not playing the game, which is counter intuitive.

To Esturias. I actually didn't know what to do, I have no clue if it will help or not. I'm still new to the game and I don't know what measures the devs have in place for griefers. For example, in Dota 2, they make you go into low priority, or they ban you.

If people are spawn blocking or griefing in other ways, the best thing to do is record some video of them while they're breaking the rules and before the video ends, open up the scoreboard to show that it's on an official server and then open up the console with two key-presses so it's full size and type "playerlist". Then you can end the video.

The playerlist command shows all the Steam IDs of the players in the game so the mods can match the griefer to their Steam account. (Screenshots could be faked or it could be another player with the same name, etc, so a mod couldn't take action just with images.)

Then you can give the video to the mods in private chat over the official discord and a well made video with all the evidence should be enough for a ban.

Thank you for your help, I really don't know how to video record, I think windows 10 has some settings though... Thanks again.

Don't use anything from Windows 10. Your graphics card will have free software to record videos and will also have a DVR function where it records continuously in the background and you can hit a hot-key to record the last 2 minutes (or whatever time you want) so you don't miss anything. It's free and doesn't use much of the computer's resources compared to 3rd party recorder software.

If you have nVidia, get their free software ShadowPlay and enable the Instant Replay mode:
https://www.nvidia.com/en-gb/geforce/geforce-experience/shadowplay/

If you have an AMD card, use ReLive:
https://www.amd.com/en/technologies/radeon-software-relive

If you're running on integrated graphics... yikes.

If you have a video which is too long, I use this free program to trim the video without losing quality:
https://www.solveigmm.com/en/products/avi-trimmer-mkv/

(Edit: in the past I've tried other 3rd party recorders like Action and they halved my framerate. I have an AMD card and ReLive barely changes my framerate by comparison.)

¿Crushed complaining about moderation? That's like Idk, Binladen complaining about terrorism or some shit like that.

Also the wall of silence is a common tactic in this lands when someone fucks shit up in the moderation department, my fella. No matter how contributive, nice and understanding you are/were. What's weird is that it usually is accompanied with a panic moderation spree, deleting/closing the threads that call the mistake out and so on.
There's something fishy here, no doubt about it.

Crush moved my other thread to off topic (wut?) so it looks like he was trying to bury it rather than delete it for some reason. Still no response from mods and since he moved my thread, they are obviously aware of what's going on.

Aren't you the guy who got banned from the Steam shit? I doubt any of the devs or mods were the one that handed it out, it was probably a steam weirdo.

No, it wasn't a ban from the global Steam guys - that gives a different message. It was definitely from the Triterion group. I'm also certain I did nothing a global Steam mod would object to.

Previously, I've been chatting to various mods over discord to report hackers and spawn blockers, but so far there has been a wall of silence which suggests to me that it was a dev.

I'm an official admin for Chivalry so I don't know if someone still holds some sort of grudge against me / us.

It was funny at first but the person behind the ban refuses to respond or identify themselves and no reason for the ban has been given.

I have to assume there was a reason.

Although I can’t see a valid one by what you’ve shown here.

That being said, I hope you get the ban lifted if it’s really as unwarranted as it seems to be.

I'll chat to a mod about it later. It's fairly amusing for me right now as I've never been banned from anything before.

I got through 5000 hours of Chivalry without even being votekicked from a server. (OK, never from a TO server. When I was new to the game Crush actually got me votekicked from an LTS server because "we're playing Kendo now, kick all the archers"....) :)

I've just noticed that they deleted every single message I ever posted in the group. Most of them were helping people report cheaters and stuff like that...

(In this post I was Mostly Harmless, one of the names I use and the name of my kickstarter bot in Mordhau.)

A steam moderator issued that ban, by the way, not any official Mordhau moderators.

You should prolly state the obvious more.

I think he's trying to say that the ban from from a global community moderator who is not part of the Mordhau team of mods. I presume all the Mordhau forum mods also have moderator status on the discussion group. I'm not sure that's true, though, it looks it's not from a global mod.

It's not a ban appeal. I just find it really weird considering that I supported the game from the beginning. I've read these forums so I know what the devs consider acceptable when it comes to speech.

If you stab these guys in the back when they're fighting someone else, their character will instantly turn 180 degrees to block the hit they couldn't see. Then they will instantly turn back to their previous opponent. That's one good way to check if they're using the autoblock cheat.

hey just fyi, you never see people using 3rd person perspective bitch and moan about 1st person mode OR the fact you get a massive sprint advantage in 1st person. so much, in fact i regularly switch to 1st person in i.e frontline just to travel faster.

hint hint.

I won't moan if you want to make a 3rd person-only server. I'd just like an answer to the original question about where or not there is a setting for it yet.

I've never heard about this speed difference... it that was true, it would be a really bad bug, but I'd rather see some solid evidence to believe it's not just the feeling of speed the same way using a higher FOV makes you "feel" like you're going faster when moving.

Is there really an advantage to third person? I feel disabled when I use it but I'm genuinely interested if there is a benefit.

In pub Frontline matches, some people can play pretty well with it due to the extra visibility. I mostly dislike the playstyle it sometimes leads to which involves running around instead of facing your opponent.

I'm sure the devs once said that official servers would all be locked to first person, but changed their minds later. Is there really no config setting to lock a server to first only?

I always preferred the 1st person-only servers in Chivalry and I'd like to see the same option in Mordhau.
