What I enjoy: Customization variety, enhanced melee mechanics. Aesthetically beautiful maps. Engineering stuff. Lutes.

What I enjoy not so much: Lack of sophisticated loadout management. Lack of an actual Siege / Team Objective mode. Lack of an intuitive emote system and some tactically useful voice lines from Chivalry. Obvious unplayability of Horde mode and flaws in BR and Frontline to some extend (where FR being the best optimized of all 3). Lack of lore and the trade-off of total customization freedom at the expense of an identity for the respective factions. (looking forward to Chivalry 2 in this regard)

Hey there,

usually at this point they are gone. The moment you fire up the game and realizing the loss of the loadouts the file in question has already been overwritten.

Better to back it up regularly, this has happened to a bunch of people by now.

Loadouts file:
%LocalAppData%\Mordhau\Saved\Config\WindowsClient\Game.ini

The number of unlocked equipment is saved server-side (unlike to the loadouts). That's why it won't disappear (unless there is an issue with the database connection)

Loadouts file:
%LocalAppData%\Mordhau\Saved\Config\WindowsClient\Game.ini

Perhaps a moderator should pin a note about that or the devs implement a backup solution to rewind back to a loadouts snapshot of the previous game session.

Links are broken (fixed meanwhile)...

EDIT: Something's off with the animations in the trailer. Hope it gets improved although it doesn't say this was Alpha footage or sort of.

I want to see folks for what they are when slaying them and not some magic bling bling stars each time.

Apparently it is too late to submit any more emblems according to the devs.

The option to submit is still available though, any devs willing to confirm?

We still have an emblem slot to fill from the kickstarter, they told us that the deadline is over.

What deadline? There was none. Neither the rewards page mentions one with a single word.

If this is really a direct response from the developers, that's totally not cool. Not amused.

Does it even work on online servers at all?
If the developers did it right, the server shouldn't trust client settings and discard any customization parts that don't match the required level.

Besides, it would be lame to ban someone for fiddling with public config files.

There should be a teaser showing picture-in-picture playing keyboard live and how it affects the lute ingame. Otherwise it doesn't look so impressive, especially for someone who doesn't know the game (and LuteBot) yet and spots the video by accident and don't get what's the big deal about that. (people tend to skip descriptions)

This should pull more real bards to Mordhau.

Have had some modding background in UE2 games and looking forward to get busy with the Mordhau SDK once it is out.

You can download and use UE4 free of charge to practise with the tools already. The Mordhau editor shouldn't be much different aside of the assets and specific adaptions to the game.

A profanity filter that you can toggle on that ONLY AFFECTS YOU would help everyone. People who want freedom of speech will see everything uncensored while people with the profanity filter won't see anything.

No censorship for people with controversial views regardless of sexism or racism please.

This.

Don't make a hard coded filter that affects everyone. It's a free country and no game should decide for you what to see and what not.
The option should be there only for those who can't handle it otherwise.

Have you turned the PC off too fast before Steam was able to shut down correctly? Only reason I could guess is something with Steam Cloud went wrong when the game was quitted and Steam didn't make it to synchronize the save data in time and pulled a broken or trying to access a non-existing file.

If something went wrong, you may check if there are files left in the local cloud folder for Mordhau which is something like
%PROGRAMFILES(X86)%\Steam\userdata\12345678\629760 (last folder must be 629760)

If there's nothing inside apart of remotecache.vdf, you most likely have to remake all mercenaries.

To be safe in future, back up Game.ini, located in
%LocalAppData%\Mordhau\Saved\Config\WindowsClient

Edit: If you play Mordhau at only 1 PC anyway, you may even want to disable Steam Cloud in the Steam settings for this particular game to exclude any potential issue from that side altogether.

I forgot to mention the visual timeline you must double click the resume button its mean the timeline must be play not to be paused when you press F.. it u exit the timeline when u pause everything will got stuck and u must demostop and restart the game. hope this will help you guys.

Funnily that happened to me a moment before reading this.

No need to restart the game, though. You can get unstuck by resuming the demo by console using demo.TimeDilation 1. It's literally the command the timeline utilizes when changing the playback speed.

To move in paused mode I prefer to have something like demo.TimeDelation .0001 so it's almost like paused but you can prep the camera without being stuck.

@Silvolt said:
Is this mode full of bugs at the moment? I tried the timeline and it just crashed the spectator mode

It basically works regarding the functions documented in this thread. It's just a bit clunky to make use of them due to the lack of GUIs and, as you've already seen it, unstable at times.

The scoreboard doesn't indicate how well you performed in doing the objective. Most points are collected through kills which of can be grinded in a sideway of the map (like those in Mountain Peak) without actual effect on the outcome. (unless you are killing the entire opponent team and thus allowing your own one to capture the objectives freely)

And if we were to honor the top scorers, engineers here would be disadvantaged nearly all the time as they provide a tactically significant contribution in pushing the frontlines with well placed barricades and ballistas, creating choke points hard to pass.
And not to forget all the brave lute players causing mental distress and distraction among the enemy lines.

So no, I disagree to clutter the scoreboard with special treatment to the top scorers as that only reflects who performed well Team Deathmatch wise.
Nevertheless there should be a way to view the scores for a bit longer. For example by pressing TAB to toggle between the reward/map voting screen and the scoreboard everytime.

Hey there,

your forum account has a category called My purchases. There you pass the name you want to be called in the credits.

Done.

  • Have the latest patchnotes in the News section of the main menu.

This probably should be implemented first and foremost. People are already bs-ing like there were zero development since release and game towards dying.

  • It has been suggested many times, but make the emote menu consistent. It should display every emote and in the same order always, but have unavailable ones appear greyed out. And why 9 emotes per page with the third page having only 1, while the voice menu has 5 per page? Make it consistent.

That inconsistency is the only thing preventing me to seriously utilize it ingame. Isn't a lot of fun to roleplay with if you have to re-read the list every single time in order to press the right buttons because of changing equipment.

Also, to add for the emote QoL improvements list, place a little icon/symbol/pictogram next to each emote text line as pictures get you a quicker grasp of which one to choose.

And still waiting for a ranged-weapon-only crosshair. Feeling so disadvantaged against other archers right now.

Perhaps your personal Mordhau config has screwed up? Steam doesn't reset or deletes that one on its own.

You can find it here
%LocalAppData%\Mordhau
Wipe that folder off entirely or move it somewhere else like the desktop.

Then verify your Mordhau files by Steam to retrieve all missing data.

If you have any custom mercenaries that you'd like to keep, they are to be found in
%LocalAppData%\Mordhau\Saved\Config\WindowsClient\Game.ini.

As already said, well done! Had faith in this project the first time I heard about it and gladly confirmed that belief with a backer contribution right after. So satisfying to see it has proven right eventually and that the game is even heading mainstream with all the attention on Twitch and YouTube and the current Steam charts.

After 1300 hours of Chivalry madness, on to 1300 hours Mordhau (and more)!

Looking forward to the upcoming maps and further development. You have got a great start to build upon this.

Now some more enhancements needed for the server browser:

When you press one of the server tabs (Internet, Recent, LAN) it triggers the server lookup to start from scratch no matter if there is already one pending. Now someone not so patient will press it again and again resulting in an endless search loop with no servers appearing and thinking it's broken (and posting another rage and refund complain in the forums).

Also, let the search settings be memorized next time. (I have to check all boxes and set ping to 100 each time)
