Tbh this gametype is kinda niche and a drop in playerbase was to be expected.
And new patches taking a while to get here is pretty much a tradition at this point.

Anyone got some good UE4 and Blender tutorials to check out?
I got an idea but first I have to learn how to make a map function or assets or anything really.

For instance, Saxon Helmet is about 6-7th century, and the Rapier is 16th century. That is nearly 1,000 years difference, but 300 more is too far?

Gotta draw the line somewhere. Personally I'd draw it around 500 AD.
Also can someone post pic of ingame Saxon Helmet? I honestly haven't seen it. AFAIK the oldest gear we have currently is Scandinavian stuff from around 800 AD.

Disregarding the people who intentionally make ugly/meme mercs, Mordhau's aesthetic is very Eurocentric by design. Sure, the timeperiod is all over the place but it's all European for now, mostly Western and Central at that.
I suggest that rather than immediately delving into the Far East, we work outwards from what we have.
Eastern Europe is currently underrepresented.
Anatolia, the Middle East, North Africa and probably Persia are a logical next step.
Gear used by Turkic steppe people would definitely also work, Cumans and Pechenegs were literal mercenaries in Europe and it would blend well with oth the Islamic World and Eastern European aesthetic.

Also ahlspiess pls.

Everyone must have realized that the archery system is broken, very slow and out of the reality. I suggest watching this video, which shows historical facts of how it was more dynamic and fast.

Obviously the archer is extremely skilled, but suggests it would be a common skill in medieval times.

This thread is for suggesting new weapons/skins. Try one of the 5 billion archer threads.

CANIBAL WEAPONSKIN

I draw a example for a Onehand axe. It will cool if you get Canibal Skin for every weapon and armor .. it looks dangerous and bloody

I hope you like my first Draw for the canibal Collection.

axe.jpg

If it reach 30 Likes i make more weapon skins of canibals

I have a lot of ideas for Armor of canibals :D Like chains with ears, teeth or eyes .. or a Shield with a Skelett head .. or a bloody mask and more more more :D

I was gonna say that looks way too silly, but what if somewhere down the line Mordhau introduced some sort of Halloween event, which allows some more outlandish/ahistorical cosmetics, kinda like TF2.
Then again we shouldn't focus too much on "more cosmetics and funny shit at all cost" because that ended up corroding TF2's artstyle.

I think the large influx of players caused a boom in new forum topics which makes everything harder to manage. You probably got unlucky and a mod in a bad mood caught your topic. These forums seem mostly ok to me. I usually don't go to Steam forums, I can imagine the Mordhau group there is a bit more of a shitshow.

Btw I recommend sticking around and looking out for community servers. The people who overuse slurs (be it from genuine racism or just to derail discussion or antagonize people) generally end up shitting up the entire chat and server admins don't like that in my experience. At some point it interferes with playing the game and server dynamic.

The fact so many in this community defends this garbage tells me what I need to know about it. Would love a dev to actually reply instead of you people who are the problem. I am sure they don't support this.

It's not all bad, but unfortunately this community has had a certain /v/-flavor to it since at least the kickstarter. Shitposting, baiting and racist humor galore,, though not nearly as bad as that shit board.. The difference is most of us genuinely just want a laugh: antagonizing people is not our goal. (again, most of us)
Something about the medieval setting attracts racist humor even more, it's like the brakes on a car have been cut loose.
What I'm trying to say is: this community is just kind of a rude bunch, but we're also afraid of having our laughs being taken away by excessive censorship. Like Overwatch supposedly kicking/banning you for spamming emotes in a "disruptive" manner.

Rambling aside, the chat racism can be partially solved with a simple word filter.
On the forums it's a bit harder: we have like 5 or so mods. They'll be mostly deleting racist topics rather than scouring every thread for racist posts (which aren't even that common).
Steam forums have always been a shitshow, regardless of game. That place will be even harder to keep clean.

new horde map
an invasion from overseas
warriors fleeing their war-torn homeland
starving peasants, knights who've fallen from grace, pretenders to a worthless throne, clanless barbarians...
they're sporting the colours purple and ochre, crosses, raised fists and winged beasts on their heraldry
Agatha is lost, Feydrid and Malric are dead
all the bots have increased turncaps and constantly do reverses and other shit
they bring catapults to destroy parts of the map
they pile all their dead on wagons and push them towards you for some reason

Gonna take this opportunity to repost my idea for a pike. TL;DR it's a counter-lance.

These are typically twice as long as the wielder. In order to not make them super annoying or OP in formations they'd have to be nerfed somewhat from their IRL counterparts I'm afraid.
no combos, long windup
abysmal swing dmg, hitstop
can't parry incoming arrows or bolts (not sure about other projectiles)
Alt mode "braces" the pike: your movement speed is reduced (no sprint at least) and you can't parry or attack until you switch back, but incoming cavalry moving at a speed where they can couch weapons will instead recieve couched dmg if they run into the pike, instantly killing the rider (or the mount if you aim lower). The user could perhaps hold the pike above them to make this clear.
This hypothetically makes the pike a dedicated anti-cavalry tool, an alright weapon in formation if proper teamwork is used and an awful choice for duels.

And the shield's hitbox now matches its in game model. Right?

not completely IIRC, it's just a little smaller than before
I think the shield hitbox should mostly match the model but have a little more area on the bottom, so you can reliably protect yourself from cheeky leghits by looking down (which would expose your head)
tbh I think if they were almost completely accurate to their model (at least during held block, maybe normal parrybox during parry timewindow), kickstun or raise/lower delay wouldn't be necessary
of course regular kick should then stay, without stun or extra range, so you can still get them out of your face
if this happens, they might as well allow shield users to kick too
I think the shield hitbox should mostly match the model but have a little more area on the bottom, so you can reliably protect yourself from cheeky leghits by looking down (which would expose your head)

TL;DR replace clunky balance with fast-paced balance
