I was thinking the same at first, Jax, but in my case in my previous post my opponent don't insta-counter my attack shortly before mine (a counter-strike like i say) in a 1v1 fight.

I've attempted a new strike 5 seconds later (to regain my stamina first), i hit him during his anim but don't stop his own strike and hit me (and kill me aswell because my light armor + maul = no bueno). It's like he was "storing" my previous strike 5 seconds later but except the new shield i don't know if it's possible with regular weapons ... If it's real Mea Culpa !
I know you change some features on my Bastard Sword but in my memory Bastard Sword's thrust (one handed mode) can still flinch, right ?

I know it's hard to believe without footage and i'm terribly sorry for that. Like i said on another topic i want to help with my own experience to make this game better, not to play the regular whiner "b3caus3 I've gOt kill3d by a nOOb maul3r bOuhOuhOu " especially on this forum . You have already a plenty of people who are like that and i'm too old to react like a kiddo. I just want to have fun in your game and keep it like that, no more.

Hi just a question : did the Flinch mechanic have been reworked recently ? Because i'm pretty sure that sometimes it doesn't work. It's hard to tell with fast weapons but it's more visible when you use the slow as the maul. The target don't counter or chamber, he do simply a strike, i manage to touch him before the release of his strike but it continue his animation like if i do nothing. It happens rarely before patch 16 but now it's like flinch don't work 1/10 times.

I really wish to bring a video to demonstrate the problem but each time i start Shadow Play my game is unplayable with the downfall of my FPS (another problem unique in this game). If someone can bring a good footage i'll be thankful. See you later.

Doesn't matter your armor or how weak the archer is, if you're in a melee fight, already wounded, you still get killed by the archer and you don't get to parry his attack because you're focused on your immediate foe and closest surroundings, not one some tiny dickhead dot with a bow in the background.

Like i said earlier if you go alone with only your d* to fight in the open space, don't be surprise you're are more focused by the archers ! You have a better chance to be the "priority one" for them !
You know there is a great chance to encounter archers ? Kill them first with throwable stuff or by decapitation then go for the rest.
You engage a fight with people but archers help them ? Go for tight space like corridors, they will have a bad time to shoot you and bonus they have more chance to shoot their allies instead.

Placement during a fight is not only how you proceed to kill a bunch of soldiers but also depend of what kind of environment you are !

In this game, archers are not a real threat like they are in Chivalry Medieval Warfare.

In Chivalry archers have just to do an headshot whatever their target wear and the projectiles cannot be blocked except with a shield.

In Mordhau except you have no helmet or a tier 1 against the longbow it's impossible to die instantly with an archer and you can block with any weapons in the game.

Like my upstair's neighbour said, it's really rare to see an archer on the Top 3 of the score and more difficult than just W+M1 with your Swei or Maul into the foes. You must know where you must shoot and where you must keep your melee, how to prioritize this target before the next to help your teammates and, of course, kill the enemies' archers before they do the same.
You can note also that, bows and crossbows cost a lot of perks point, you can't have a god tier weapon and armor with you and a lot of perks to help except Huntsman and Ranger who cost 2 extra points in total. Yes, Archers can be annoying but no there are not resistant.

Nah don't think like that ! You can't see properly in FPS view (the real way to play the game IMO) what the opponent is doing with half of the screen covered by your shield. Even worse, using the shield pre-patch 15 would have given bad habits in general melee combat. Lots of decents players would have know how to counter a shield. If you really want to know how far some type of weapons does, just watch some youtube's video or simply go in spectator mode to watch a good player (Even if i think you get a better idea with your own experience). Concerning ranged attacks (if you mean arrows, bolts, etc ... nevermind if it's not the case), don't forget you can parry almost every projectiles in the game except the Scorpio/Ballista and Catapult.

Hi there ! Like the title said i want to discuss about the map Crossroad especially the invasion one. I think the devs know the problem and are about to change it soon (i hope) but ...

... What the hell is that ?!?

Even if i like the basic idea of a convoy getting ambushed and we need to protect or destroy it, why there is only 2 steps in this mission ? And so simple to execute as the attackers ? You just have to throw a couple of firepots = first step complete !
Even worse, when the king is out he can't go far away from the convoy, letting him really exposed despite the help of his teammates. All of that during 20 minutes without counting all the horses, siege engine etc ... who can destroy the king in no time.

My question is : what can we do to make it better ?
First : More ... Steps !!!
There is at least 2 or 3 carts in the convoy. Why don't we have to destroy them one by one which we can't strike the next cart until the previous is totally destroyed.
Second : No more manual destruction ! I think it's better to have some attackers bringing torches or black powder to the carts to destroy them with of course some resupplies spots around the trajectory of the convoy, at least defenders have a chance to ... well ... defend it.
This mechanics already exists ingame so nothing impossible to change.

What do you think about this changes ? If anybody have a better solution don't be shy ! See you on the battlefield !

Because you're a good guy ! (... Maybe ? I don't know if you're a fairplayer or a trashtalker, nothing personal ^^).

But not everyone is so kind ! I don't know for others countries but in Europeans servers it's common to see lvl100+ together and the rest lvl50 or less in the other team. I don't have to explain how it ends most of the time ! :(
Personnally i don't understand this behavior for masskilling people especially when you gain the same amount of gold whatever if you win or lose as long as you play the objectives.
Maybe some people are too afraid to see the word "Defeat" on their screen, who knows ! Even in this game where it means nothing in my opinion.

I don't think we need specifics servers for new people but instead we need a game balancing system. It's very common right now to see a lot of high lvl willingly waiting to see where others high lvl goes and join them to crush the other team.
My answer : when you arrived at a level cap (75 for example) you can't choose the team and the game decide for you where you go dependind of the lvl or the skill of both teams.

Always a frustration fleing with my light compo a bunch of heavies tin can and die because one of them decide to run like Usain Bolt !

Clearly we should have a base chase movement speed depending of what you wear ; you have a light armor, no problem you can chase normally ; you have a heavy armor, you should have a delay of 1 or 2 seconds before the chase mechanic work.

I'm not sure if a real idle position when you don't do anything ingame will be really working for one reason ; servers kick you pretty quickly if you idle. It must better be a command emote as the regular ones.

Even if the idea is good and i'll really appreciate to see ingame i don't know if it will be execute properly if for example you have a reasonable loadout but you have a luth too. For what i know in the armory the luth always win whatever you have in your character's inventory, same for some tools like beartrap.

Hi i was thinking about the buckler and his purpose to be a more self-defense tool than a real shield in the battlefield. Because except the stamina's consumption, there is no big difference with this and the targe actually.

So here is what i think to give a real identity to the buckler ; The buckler replace the kick with a punch or an uppercut animation who deal a bit more damage, have the same speed and stun effect as a regular kick, this punch can be parried like the regular kick. In compensation, you can add more stamina's consumption on parry, no more throwable to keep the shield balanced or simply no malus, as you wish.
Like i said it's supposed to be a self-defense tool than a real shield you can use on the chokepoint like the heater/kite one, and it's too bad to waste 1 perk point for a "better" stamina's consumption when you have the targe who cost 1 point less and do almost the same advantages than the buckler right now.

I don't know if the devs will read this topic but i know you do your best to make your game enjoyable, keep it up ! If someone have more ideas about the buckler, you can tell aswell. Thanks for reading !
