There's simply no incentive to get into comp Mordhau. As others have said, right now it's a clique of skilled players which most people who didn't play Chiv will have a hard time joining. If there was an actual competitive team mode in the main menu, with ranked rewards, it would be an excellent way for people to get into the scene and be motivated to improve. Until this type of thing is supported by the devs, the comp scene will remain stagnant with the same 10 (if that many) teams fighting each other.

Bows seem fine right now, they are a powerful support weapon in the right hands. I would like to see the Longbow reduced to 10 points, other than that no changes should be made imo.

Nah, it's already obnoxious enough in frontline.

They're only annoying when there's multiple. A simgle archer won't do much unless he's good, even then the Longbow does not need a nerf.

Blaming the game itself? What? You're over simplifying what I said. I enjoy the game and I don't sit around and complain about it like you.

It's a niche game with a few glaring issues. The two biggest are lack of content updates and a toxic community. I mean, just look at all the moaning that goes on in these forums. People don't want to buy a game with those kinds of expectations.

Also, it's hard for new players. A lot of casual players are immediately turned off by the massive skill gap. It's tough for the modern casual gamer to get their ass handed to them so badly and continue playing.

Either way, the game does have a dedicated core playerbase that will continue to support it.

I feel like 200 should be max, as most players won't even reach 200. I see what they were going for, though a prestige system like CoD has may have been better. Reset at level 200 back to 1, and get a gold star or something next to your name.

If you can't afford a $30 game then you need to be worrying about more than a game you can't play.

Just saying.

That's not the point. A lot of people aren't willing to spend $30 on a game they may not enjoy. It has nothing to do with how much money they have.

The point of a free weekend is to pique player interest, allowing those that are skeptical to experience the game. Even if just 1 out of 100 free players buys the game, that's a boost to the player count.

Agreed new players need some attention. I think an "advanced combat" tutorial should be implemented, which would explain accels, drags, and other techniques. Also I like the idea of an under-20 Frontline server, though it may negatively effect matchmaking at this point.

The game is not without flaws, but I still have fun everytime I play.

I think one of the major issues is for new players. When the game first came out it was much easier to learn since there were a lot of other new players. Now, I can only imagine how difficult it is to get into the game with all the vets slaughtering you over and over. Most in-game complaints I see are from people under level 10.

This is not an easy issue to fix, however I'm sure steps could be taken to improve new players experience. The current tutorial does a good job of explaining the basics. Perhaps an "advanced combat" tutorial could also be implemented, which would explain drags, accels, and other techniques. Another suggestion is a low-level Frontline playlist, for level 20 and under. Potentially slower matchmaking, but it would be a much healthier environment for new players.

The real issue is that they need to add markers for friendly bear traps.
