MMA dodging isn't necessary, there doesn't need to be a dodge ability, however, being able to evade attacks with sheer movement speed and light equipment isn't out of the question.

I wouldn't go as far as saying it's Mandatory by any means, there are plenty of games today that are very successful without Co-Op. Does it always enhance the game? No. Sometimes it down right ruins it.

A perfect example of a 'Bad' Co Op experience is Dark Souls (First release.) Co Op in this game is damn near impossible to get working with randoms, trying to get it to work with a friend? Almost impossible, you're likely trying to spend a whole day making the connection possible before you ever swing your sword at an enemy. But this is a pretty out-dated example.

I think the developers should for sure develop what they envision as the core of the game. A Co Op adds nothing to the experience if it's not enjoyable, easy to get into, or relatively casual. It's difficult to find a happy balance of difficulty and accessibility for Co Op experiences truly, especially in skill based games like Mordhau. I would like to see a Co Op mode, but something not like Horde from Chiv, where the enemies just get impossibly strong and numbered, and just annihlate you

I hope the game remains more pure on release than what Chivalry eventually became, there will always be exploits to find and use, to 'elevate' the skill ceiling. I have high hopes for Mordhau, I only hope they don't get crushed.

This could be interesting, and I'd support it, but I don't think this should be an on release goal, perhaps something to add by the developers later, or even by the community... speaking of the community, will Mordhau eventually be given to the community for map/mode development after release? Obviously weapons/armor wouldn't be apart of this ideally, due to the customization present in game. But I do think your community would love to work with map/mode making on Mordhau

Because it's frustrating for someone to swing the heaviest weapon in the game, just start the animation, and kill you. It adds realism and logic to the wonderful art of battle. While fast drags are significantly less present (From current animation). It more so applies to the fact that the end of the swing, has much less momentum than the mid (Sweet spot of a swing.) Go outside and get a stick, or get your replica lightsaber or whatever, and swing it like these people do, you'll notice the power in the sweet spot, versus the beginning/ending.

They aren't the best Lazy, but with finer tuning and work it would've been much better. was too wishy washy. I can't stand that max damage all the time nonsense, it makes the game cookie cutter and boring.

Oh! Forgot to ask, will damage from hits be based on timing in the animation, so less damage at startup and end? Or will it be like MW, and be max at all points in the active portion of swing?

Women in Medieval Era were not banned from fighting, there were mercenaries of course, most kings didn't care what gender you were, if you could wield a sword better than most, and besides, look at Joan of Arc, despite her fate, she was widely successful and inspirational.

Technically Joan of Arc was not a warrior though, she was an inspirational leading figure.

I don't mind females but it looks stupid if you have a body built like a barn and a tiny head on top - and in addition you have to pay voice actors you wouldn't have to otherwise.

That's what Dark Souls was basically, nobody complained you couldn't have double D with insane physics. Lol, it's for immersion and roleplaying/uniqueness purposes.

Women were an INCREDIBLY SMALL minority of fighters back then and still are to this day.

If we're talking historical accuracy, yeah, probably not a good idea to have women characters. That being said, who gives a shit about historical accuracy?

More player freedom is always appreciated.

Absolutely, I much more appreciate player choice and uniqueness over historical accuracy any day, unless of course Historic accuracy is the goal, which I personally think is a dying goal to have in video games, especially given the Total War franchises recent turn towards Warhammer.

Problem with Kill cams is it takes lag on all ends into account, so something that's super cool might look totally dumb on a live kill cam on server.

Also, it seems with Mordhau they aren't going for the super flashy kills that exist in Chivalry :MW, they're going for the simple, graspable, approach, with straight forward mechanics, mind games, and dueling

I didn't recall it from your first video, will hit detection be client side, or server side?

As you recall, in Chivalry, players with higher ping would hit you from way far away because they were actually right next to you, or is it too early in the dev process to decide?

Oh wow, even better, I've never had the pleasure of playing with any of them unfortunately, probably because I mostly dwell on DW, but I've been getting back into MW more recently, and reading these posts about drags just brings a smile to my face.

Excellent! I'm very happy to read that! You guys are probably going to be picking up a lot of the Chivalry Community to start, seeing as we're all looking for something new to try at least, so get ready to answer lots of drag/feint questions :P Once again thanks for the reply @marox

OH awesome! No insta Reverse overheads/crap

This begs me to ask, will there be 'long' reverses, where the goal of the 'insta' hit that isn't allowed in Mordhau is to make the opponent panic parry for the 180 spin into the hit?

Oh wow! A Developer Response! I appreciate the knowledge, honestly @marox, even if on release it was just a face/voice replacement, I'd be happy, and then you could always do retextured armor pieces way later down the road, or never, and I'd be happy. Once again thank you so much for your reply, I'm deeply interested in this game. I hope you guys do great and find a lot of success!

So, I know armor and weapons are heavily customization, but how about the character itself, will we be able to change our character's actual appearance outside of their armor, will there be Male or Female options? I'm just curious, we might never see it without a 3rd person mode, but it means we get to show off to everyone who battles us to the death!
