horde mode wen

I too desire horde mode. Mostly play against bots anyway because of bad ping. You guys made lots of improvements to the AI as well, so I'm kind of eager to play.

Due to a recent feature introduction of exaggerated faces that make all characters into abominations, I think it would be wise to add this as an alternate client side mode in the options menu.

A tip for the devs regarding the SteamWorks SDK. Packages could be a useful tool in distributing kickstarter rewards. I haven't worked with Unreal in a long time, but you can most likely just add an Item Database or bool to a certain item. If the player can't use a specific item due to kickstarter tier, lock it. An example is DLC, which is a unique package which links from the store. Opposed to using the store you could just link it to a key.

You can share any library item on Steam that you didn't add yourself (non-steam game/mod). I've been able to share other alphas that are not publicly available, such as Madness: Project Nexus 2

tl;dr If it has a steam repository, you can share

Please take a moment and understand that this is their first game as a team. Sure they've done a lot of work so far, most likely learned a great deal about game development, but that doesn't mean they know all. No one does, even professionals that poop out annual editions to popular franchises. I tried 3D game development, but with my lack of skills modeling and an inability to network or find artists, I've moved to 2D strategy games instead. It fits my addiction to programming, and it is not art intensive. I still work with vectors and rotations, but minus one axis. The cool part about not working in the 3D environment is it really opens up the ability to not only make a game solo, but have deep gameplay and mechanics most AAA games lack these days. Plus side is I'm not constricted to Unity/Unreal, which are both annoying in their own ways.

What exactly is horrendous about chivalry's server browser?

Well for one the servers just don't show up at all from time to time and in most cases there was no way to fix it but to try again tomorrow.

What. Just click refresh.

The game made up player counts and it was difficult to use the Steam overlay to join friends. Servers that were full could be joined by spamming in the browser when I had people in the server tell me there were openings. Modded servers were glitched towards the end of my playtime. Workshop downloads made it sometimes impossible to join servers that would auto-download for you. The friends tab showed the same server for each friend on the server, so you could have 10 entries for one server at times. Not to mention community issues, like an abused vote kick system that made it necessary to join new servers every time some group of bleach deficient memers banded together.

Steam servers are notoriously bad for anything except Counter-strike Global Offensive, and even then those are debatable. It also takes a decent amount of time to integrate SteamWorks API into any game not on the Source engine, remember Chivalry's browser? Horrendous. Also, the problem that is most likely holding up the alpha is not a critical game bug, as revisions through source control should be available to re-stabilize the build and avoid players using hot code. Dedicated server load and multiplayer optimizations are most likely necessary to the release as no one could play without them.

I can't :( Not until this releases, it's like a curse. As shitty as Chiv is, it's the best thing out atm.

ah yes

with 6000+ hrs. on 3 platforms combined - PS4, Xbox One and PC.

its a fun shitfest game.

Te moment u charge and encounter in a group fight, lol thats a shitfest, with limbs decapitated, all those screams, and that music in the background, such fun times.

I'm a duelist and can't stand FFA and the like. All the BS broken mechanics that people continue to abuse drive me insane, draggings fine to an extent, but reverses? Fuck that, it's the thing I'm most excited about in Mordhau, forcing people to actually use skill instead of some half baked broken animations.

I can't even take it seriously anymore without getting angry. The dueling in Chivalry for me is just as bad as FFA, except if you are consistently doing poor in FFA you can say you're still having fun. I love reverses but I realize that it is an incredibly terrible bad mechanic and it looks obnoxious.
