I swear to god 2 days after release i saw a post on leddit saying "devs add microtransactions if you need to, i wanna support community!" Look guy. Your wife's boyfriend works hard for that money, and if your REALLY wanna spend it go get some sweet merch. Also the gold progression system helps new players. If you just buy the game, and you see a dude in full gothic plate mail, with a longsword that looks like it belongs in an mmorpg, wrecking the battlefield this might be an indicator to low skills that they should not press this assault and find another avenue of attack. However if EVERYONE has that stuff on then its just gonna be. So many salty "CoMmUnIty iS CaNcER TrYhArds. GaMe Is BrOkEn." Steam reviews that i can actually taste the soy when i read them. No microtransactions now, not ever. Thank you mordhau that you didnt include that in this game, and thank god good games are still being made.

Fire pots was the worst thing about chiv, why they thought it wouldn't be the worst thing in mordhau ill never know. With any luck when they release modding someone will add a server owner fuction that restricts firepots. Fingers crossed mod community

I see what your point is, and agree that rapier stab spam is a low skill strat, but what im trying to explain is that it dosent matter because its a low skill counter against it. Everything has a counter bullshit or not, and everything that kills a play is not bullshit. Skill is what makes the game worth playing, and the only thing in Invincible in mordhau is Ren. The raiper is balanced because of its reach, just dance out of its range if its sheild paired. If i remember right in the alpha ciswic was the only raiper player i saw, because it just wasnt that good. It does high damage, but it has horrible reach, also the arming sword and short sword are several times faster with accel slashes. Sorry man i know it can be frustrating learning to counter something new that everyone is using, but come back to this post in 3 month when the skill base has increased. Youll rarely ever see them, and then the new meta will be messer/zwei drags and maul fients. Hope i helped you see some insight into raiper counters.

Parry, and accel a horizontal slash is a good trick. Or if they turtle immediately after you parry facehug them, parry, kick, accel overhead

shields are not a full 360 block, you have 3 options. Foot work, stam drain, and kick. Kick is easy to maneuver away from if shield user understands food work, so best to face hug. Stam drain works if your in duels and dont have anyone else coming for you. Foot work is generally best. Try to move to where you hit their shield and then back away from the length of their wep. As they start the attack move forward and then hit them once they miss. Or try to dance around the sides with a left or right accel stab. Dragging a hit if your weps long enough can also be used. The best shield players will use shield like a parry instead of holding it up constantly. The only real benefit of having one is being able to parry multiple strikes from opponents. Just keep playing it until you can figure out what works for you.

Cswic is right. Rapier is fine, and it has counters. If you just turn accel an attack after a riposte its a pretty good shot at hitting someone who's just spamming away, and if they are using a shield, accel to feint to kick followed up by juicy over head. Once player base figures out there is more moves than just left click and right click they will be fine and stop complaining. Nerfing these weapons will just make them unusable and not worth playing.

I kinda figgured this would happen. Honestly getting an application built, all of the thousands of moving parts in time with each other is a bastard to deal with. Now shove all that shit into a server and make sure the server is running the application smoothly, quickly, and secure. Its alot of effort and nothing ever goes like it supposed to because the gods of computer science are hateful. Screw the public outcry make the servers work, stress test and pen test the shit out of them and send it when its ready. If its good the naysayers will come back. Keep calm and sys. Admin on.

A two hand ax thats not stupidly oversized and slow? Im so tired of my favorite weapon being a D&D bandit type battle axe. I mean a normal (maybe a pick on one side) axe that swings like a chiv longsword but either has a moderate amount of damage to its fast/normal swing speed, or only does a large damage output if the head connects. Plz devs.

Was running battle axe mason knight and spamming insults. 2 vans and a maa ran up to me as character did the "THOU ROUGE, THOU, SWINE,.." Insult and i attacked on every thou and killed all 3 of them as character finished lol. Looked bad ass and made me laugh. Good times

Its probably a stupid amount of work, but what about dynamic insults? I.e. two players p1 and p2
P1"I bite my thumb at the KNAVE!"
P2 "BITE YOUR THUMB AT ME AND I'LL KEEP THY HAND! HAVE AT THE!"

Or like
P1"ah do they sent boys to works as men?"
P2"Aye, they wanted prisioners alive after the fight!"
