Let us know how the new specs work out for you. Also, don't forget to set your display to run at 144hz - it won't do that automatically. Going from 60hz ---> 144hz is one of the best improvements you can make for Mordhau. As long as you can run the game at 144FPS at least.

Hey there, are the items showing up as redeemed under the My Purchases page? Click your name at the top right of the forums for the drop down. For some reason, even though I've had these items in-game for months now, mine aren't showing as redeemed - yet I still see them in-game.

Check it out, boys! Looks like we got PC Gamer's attention. There one of the larger gaming news sites so I'm certain this will help push sales on release day! Article can be found below:

Upvoted. Though I recommend just posting gifs and short videos to Reddit. It's unlikely the majority browsing r/Games or any video game subreddit, for that matter, are going to take the time to read that wall of text. Most people just scroll looking for gifs/videos.

Like this Mordhau gif posted to r/HitBoxPorn got 3.8K upvotes! That's incredible. We gained a lot of publicity from that one. The trailer on r/Games only had 1.5K upvotes.

Just pay top twitch streamers to play it on release Kappa

Maybe if the devs weren't broke. Though they should hand out streamer keys - if we could get someone like Shroud again to play on release, the game would get a ton of publicity.

Chivalry sold anywhere from 5 - 10 million copies and according to Steam charts, the peak player count was 25K nearly 5 years after release. For the release month of October 2012, the peak was 5K.

I think it's safe to say that, unfortunately do to what seems like little hype surrounding the full release - low view count on YouTube trailer, near to no publicity from video game sites, and poor trending Reddit threads, it's likely to not sell as well. Sure everyone is excited here on the forums or on the Discord, but that's only a couple thousand people tops. We need MILLIONS of people to be hyped about this game.

I don't mean to be negative, because I want nothing more than this game to succeed, but there just isn't enough people spreading the word about the release, it seems. If the game releases to a storm of negative Steam reviews due to poor performance, network issues, or simply don't enjoy the gameplay, well the game is dead there. No amount of post-launch patching or support from the devs will be able to save it then.

So what can we do? Start posting gifs of funny and crazy gameplay moments to gaming subreddits, for one. We're likely to reach the largest audience there. Spam sites like Kotaku with the gameplay trailer - share you're excitement and they'll want to share it with their readers too. Answer questions in the YouTube comments section, in Reddit threads, and in the Steam discussion boards - in a kind and helpful way, of course. If you express your excitement, that'll get other's interested too and that's one more sale the devs can use to keep the servers going.

Do you @devs have plans to do any marketing yourself? I saw the interview y'all did with noFrag, will there be anything else like this?

Duke 341 970

Well done, Triternion! You've all done such great work on this one - I'm certain it will sell in the hundreds of thousands! It's up to us now to get the word out there. I encourage everyone to reach out to video game sites and let them know Mordhau will be releasing the 29th.

I can't test it as we no longer have access to Frontline, but from what I found, CPU seemed to be the primary constraint. The issue I was having during the stress test was, at best, a usage of ~60% of my GPU during the large battles. Yet, when in spawn, my GPU usage would shoot up to ~90% and I'd get drastically better FPS.

Again, I'd like to test it, but I did overclock my GPU from 4.2Ghz to 4.8Ghz and I'd like to see if that helps with performance. Here are my specs:

i7 - 6700K
1080ti

In-Game Settings: Medium-ish (turned everything CPU dependent to low)
Average FPS: 60 - 70 in Battles, 120+ without players in view

Should have gone Early Access - they'd have the money AND the time they so desperately need.

Alright. How many shirts and mugs do I need to buy from the shop to get this game out this month?

Duke 341 970

Here's a better look at the bug - appears to only be happening on Grad.

sneak peak of all future stoutytages and comp footage

This is a perfect example of the extreme, to-the-limit, drags that can be performed while maintaining a clear view of your surroundings. If Stouty had been performing those drags in 1st person, it'd be hard to keep track of what's going on and the drags wouldn't have been as effective. I've noticed that it takes far less mouse movement to reach the extreme drag angles in 3rd than it does in 1st.

We have no plans to remove third person or change it in any drastic way, there are good reasons to have it in a melee game so any changes at most will be minor tweaks/nerfs. Maybe in the future we will have an option for server owners to lock their server to a certain perspective, but it's not something that can be confirmed right now.

Guess it's time I start playing in 3rd person exclusively then. It's a clear advantage over 1st person. So honestly, thank you. Now I won't feel bad about spinning around abusing extreme drags - because now I know this is what was intended. I'll hide behind corners and wait for people to pass by and then I'll surprise them with my sixth sense. I'll parry attacks that come at me from behind, because you know, I've got eyes in my back now.

You will lose more players to the frustrating play-style 3rd person encourages, than you will gain players that are looking for a game they can play in 3rd person.

Duke 341 970

An i7-8700K running at 5Ghz should not be a bottleneck for any modern game - I think what we're seeing here is poor optimization from Mordhau that depends heavily on CPU usage.

Duke 341 970

I'm playing at 2560 x 1080 (21:9) FOV: 101. Did a search of the forum, but couldn't find this bug mentioned elsewhere - though I feel like it may have been brought up before. You can see at the top left and right there's a visual bug with the sky-sphere thing.

At the very least, please indicate on the scoreboard who is and isn't using 3rd person. Like an icon next to their name or in parentheses (3rd) to let everyone know.

I play in 1st person, but I did try 3rd for a match of FL and within 10 minutes I was doing substantially better. 1vX became much easier and I even found myself doing lots of ballerina attacks (which were quite effective), my drags became much more difficult to read, and I was able to easily parry attacks coming at me from behind. I could even look around corners to surprise unsuspecting horse riders passing by.

Honestly, it was difficult to go back to 1st, because I knew by doing so I'd be at an disadvantage to those who chose to keep playing in 3rd - but I felt too ashamed to continue.

Now they're going to have to delay again to prove you wrong. Thanks.

It'd be best, at this point, for Mordhau to go Early Access. Sure, there have been plenty of titles that have abused the EA model, but there also have been tons that have made great use of it; I think Mordhau could be one of those. Triternion should take the opportunity: swallow your pride and release it to EA - make a ton of $$$ on the huge influx of players, invest that money back into the game to get it where you want it, then release it a year later. Going this route will undoubtedly generate the most profit, bring in more players, and allow for Mordhau to be perfected without being rushed. Because from what we've seen from the stress test, a full release in April is unrealistic.
