Devs .. You really missed a MASSIVE opportunity with Invasion on Grad. As one of the elite 100 who donated enough to earn the right to wear a crown in-game, how is it that we're not worthy of TWO crowns upon rightfully taking our position as King!?! Think about it .. two crowns, stacked upon each other.

here's some inspiration

k that's all I wanted to say.

I've been having this issue on all my servers too - really frustrating. I've had Mordhau servers running since launch and this is the first time I've had this issue. I've had to restart my servers at least once a day.

Great work, devs! I like Invasion more than I expected. I think it'll be even better once we get maps that were designed with Invasion in mind. Grad, Taiga, and especially Camp are a little too open for Invasion, I think. Regardless, I really appreciate the more frequent updates. Small updates > Big updates.

Duke 341 970

What's the map names for the config for Invasion?

Duke 341 970

I couldn't agree more! The emblems for ranked look so cool and I think people would love to be able to show off what they've accomplished in ranked.

Actions speak louder than words.

modding and mapping scene is alive and booming.

You guys are silly to think a small team of like 15 ppl is going to cater to your every nerf and whim or even has time to read the bs you ppl post here.

you want something to happen in the game make it happen by modding it or creating a map.

this medium wont accomplish anything for the game whatsoever!

learn ue4 and mod the game.

quit fkn whining and do sumthing about it.

I didn't realize buying a game today meant having the understanding that you had to finish developing it yourself.

I can see it being 50/50 whether or not it comes in one big update or two smaller ones, but if the latter happens the maps definitely won't have as long of a wait as it's been since the last patch to now.

Small Updates > Big Updates

Triternion is making a huge mistake trying to combine all these changes/features into one update. For one, the majority of gamers are impatient. Waiting months and months for any news/updates results in the player-base becoming bored, and eventually, disinterested enough that they move on to other games. I'd say 90% of the player-base doesn't look at the forums, discord, reddit, or the steam discussions. All they see is a stagnant game that hasn't been updated in months - they have no idea that the devs are working on updates. So, here's all you have to do once every couple weeks: send out a little patch -

'tweaked eveningstar animations, moved spawns on crossroads - also, here's what we're working on ..'

That right there creates excitement. Now your players know the game hasn't been abandoned. They're curious to launch the game, check out the changes to the eveningstar, crossroads, and they're looking forward to whats to come .. and hey, it's only a couple weeks to the next patch! And best of all, I bet that took the devs a day to complete.

Another reason large patches are a terrible idea is that it makes them more prone to bugs and significantly more complicated to correct when these issues inevitably happen. Diagnosing what has gone wrong after a large patch is much more difficult to do. If it had been the hypothetical patch I mentioned above, the devs would know right away the bugs are relevant to one of two small changes they made.

Of course, if we could have large patches frequently, that'd be best, but Triternion is a small team that seems to refuse to put profit back into development. So, I think it'd be best to stick to creating small, quick patches that tells the community that they haven't been abandoned, the game isn't dead - we're still here working on it!

What irks me the most is that they’ve made probably close to 50 million from sales, yet we haven’t seen any of it put back into the game; the development speed if anything seems slower than it had been during the alpha. I do not believe that the devs ever intended to truly commit to the game’s development: Mordhau is simply a side project for them, a hobby. The lack of communication is pathetic, and honestly, quite lazy. Rust, one of my favorite games, despite being in development for several years held a consistent playerbase because they provided WEEKLY updates and consistent communication. Sure, the updates were often small, but it was enough to keep the players excited about what was coming. It’s not hard to do and it goes a long way to keeping your playerbase content and excited about the future of the game. Providing a wimpy “devblog” one every couple months isn’t good enough. Where did all that money go? I understand if Triternion pocketed it, that’s their right, but maybe you all could chip in a little bit and hire a couple new devs?

Wondering if any other server owners are having a similar issue with losing a chunk of players on map change. This seems to have only started occurring after the last patch - this did not occur before. I started noticing it after I set up a 24/7 Crossroads server. Here's a gif of what it looks like seeing all disconnect messages in chat:

Of course, many of you will say these are players simply leaving after the end of a game, which is normal, but they all leave about at the same time and it's right before the map changes.

A couple of things about my servers: I host them all on the same machine, I have three servers active at the same time. Each of them have a unique port, query port, and beacon port.

Has anyone else been noticing this? Thanks!

From what I've come to understand, the game is CPU bound. Meaning that when there are a lot of players on screen, this eats up your CPU resulting in less GPU usage. Try lowering any settings that utilize the CPU heavily - like character detail, cloth physics, ragdoll count and time.

I'm not familiar with Twitch Rivals - are these Mordhau streamers like dueling or something? I'll watch it regardless.

Duke 341 970

In the game.ini you want to add those lines that Gambit mentioned.

Duke 341 970

I've spent nearly 1,000 hours in this game not once using the toolbox seriously, and now that I've made a dedicated engineer class, I've had some of the most fun yet. I'd love to see the available builds to the toolbox expanded. I was thinking it'd be really neat if there were group based builds - like larger walls that require multiple engineers to build.

Duke 341 970

Yeah, this certainly needs to be addressed.

Duke 341 970

Just turn the gore back on as well as the teammate markers. You can press 'H' in-game to turn them on.

Horses are quite a pain to deal with - I agree with you. Though if they really annoy you that much, you can equip the billhook which on a successful hit to the rider will yank them off their horse.

Duke 341 970

Ahh so seems likely this is a bug attributed to higher ranks.
