Got the drop on the new patch early lads. Dual wielding lute and blacksmith hammer. Welcome to the future.

That was the first thing I tried. Even restarted the machine between updates to the ini and it was still filling in with default values.

My guess was it was populating from a default maplist somewhere else in a Base ini but I havn't been able to find it yet.

This seems to work for now

At this point this is off topic but I wasn't going to create a new thread for this:

Initially I was having trouble getting my maplist to stick. Each time I changed it; upon restarting the server the maplist would populate with the default values. Even with the addition of the + before MapRotation this was still occurring.

A temporary fix has been to simply repeat the first rows of the MapRotation with the desired maps.

Its also worth noting that each time a map is voted on, the MapRotation list will iterate by 1.
This may have been common knowledge to some but I wasn't able to find it written anywhere in the forum.

You should try and connect to it, in Mordhau console open xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxxx (IP address: port)

Is it showing up in the LAN section?
If so, check to see if all required ports are forwarded:

[all UDP]

  • 7777
  • 27015
  • 7778

Also make sure you have all filters cleared in the server browser. It could be there but not visible.
If its not showing up, even in the LAN section, It could be the server is failing to start. Check the error logs

Doesn't solve the problem of cooking maps though

If they drop SDK files, first of all i will create typical duelyard for my clanmates. If there will be no normal editor there is free UE4 and thats good ;3

UE4 vanilla is only useful if they give us the source files / uncooked maps. Mord is made in a modified version of UE4 so cooking maps / importing assets is pretty much impossible.

I tried dicking around with mord files in vanilla UE4 but it led to an infinite cycle of fuck.,

Yeah just throw it at him

actually not a bad idea

but it just doesn't seem necessary when you're already walking in with a small armory to begin with.

Pretty true. I considered it more of a possible way to get around loadout restrictions later on in beta / release.
The image in my head was a target switch tactic, but with weapons. Zombie is right though, could just throw a spare at team mate if the situation is dire.

Title says it all. An alternative weapon drop where the weapon is tossed instead of dropped.
Could be a great way to help a disarmed team mate or even counter a specific load-out during battles (i.e shields, spears etc)

Not suggesting that this be implemented immediately but as an idea I think it could be developed.

Personally, I don't like rapiers much, but that mainly stems from my inability to counter them. In the hands of an experienced player who is also utilizing feints, morphs and kicks, I find them absolutely brutal.

That being said; getting kicked from a server because of your choice of weapon is toxic beyond belief. Whilst I'm a firm believer of learning from better players, simply declining to duel a player who is much better / using a cheese weapon is an option duelist have.

If i were you, don't worry about the latest trends on the forums and keep doing what you are doing. Players will either get over it or get better because of it. If it's just one server and it keeps happening, avoid it or seek a discourse with the admin that kicked you.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think you can only enter admin commands if you're on the adminlist. Doesn't matter if you have the admin password or not.

Can confirm that you can enter commands with just the admin password. Have only tested with basic stuff (changelevel, restartlevel, kick, ban).

I get this sometimes. Another 2k chivalry player here.
Since the latest patch (#5) It feels like I'm fighting against the game. Multiple clicks in order for it to register inputs, moves being queued up, morphs more inconsistent. Not sure if its the game or I'm just buggering up the timings.

I disagree with this a shit ton. It shouldn't take you hours to learn and react to the animations. It should be easy and intuitive to understand the visuals.
Easy to learn hard to master, not hard to learn hard to master.

Theres nothing difficult about timing a parry to an enemy. The animations are quite straightforward, and calling a few hours of learning parry timing 'hard' is pretty rich.

i dunno, missing a swing like this https://clips.twitch.tv/RoundConsideratePlumageMrDestructoid and having it still connect is a little silly

No disrespect to that streamer but he did take a gamble and paid for it.
That drag was definitely at the limit of the animation, but had the streamer simply timed a parry, ducked, stepped to the left or thrust instead of lmb that duel would have told a different story.

you can't reliably block them because slow weapons take an exponentially longer time to complete their swings so you can out drag a normally well timed party

Part of what gives games like this a high skill ceiling is the hours required to learn weapon animations and their (possible) timings. A very basic skill in chivalry was learning proper footwork and timing your parries.

From a casual point of view, a slow weapon can seem ridiculous if someone drags it. However after hours of facing this, it very quickly becomes apparent that ridiculous slow dragging is more of a disadvantage against a player that can anticipate it and punish with a quick stab or proper footwork.

Im not going to tell you to get gud or leave, but i suggest you come back after 20 hours of fighting drags. If you still find it to be an issue then, a possible option would be to roll up your sleeves and to start coding a balance mod for those with a similar mindset to your own.

Probably a long shot but any chance of adding a server browser that shows active servers per region.

Failing this: any chance of releasing an API so we could make one ourselves?

It would make administrating a server a lot easier given the lack of remote tools at the moment.

What are the downsides of hosting a dedicated server on the same machine you're playing on?

Generally; performance. This may or may not be an issue in mord, but its best to just use a spare laptop or pc.
