who's the tryhard loser?

Those who play with training wheel weapons for apes despite having thousands of hours of /played?

Rapier is one of the worst weapons in the game honestly... if you can be good with it, more power to ya.

It definitely shouldnt be the optimal strategy to just beam your teammates to get kills. It currently is.

Swing through killed a lot of meme builds like dagger and brawler because now you cant use enemies as a shield against other enemies. I miss them!

It also destroyed the use of any weapons that DONT swing through ... huge disadvantage using them now.

Not to mention NOT hitting teammates is a very underappreciated skill. It should be rewarded, but instead the opposite is encouraged... just fuck your teammates up and hope they live. Forming an actual "Frontline" and good teamplay was a dynamic and interesting part of the game.

Hi I have 500,000 gold. Can you give me something to spend it on? Expensive tier 1 and tier 2 armor maybe?

Bows are in a great spot at the moment. If anything they should be toned down a bit. They can be very oppressive in some games.

If the 1 shot from maul is "a gimmick" I want "a gimmick" for my club aswell, which has higher cost. Mace could have a oneshot on t3 helmet only. However I agree with your thoughts on exec, war axe and blades in general with the new slice through feature. They should be nerfed aswell or first yea.

Like I said in the old topic, I think Eveningstar is underrated, but it's far from being OP.

I personally would like less Gimmicks. The defense systems in the game are really awesome and feel great.

Because weapons are primarily balanced in 1v1 situations. The maul isn't anywhere near the top in power for 1v1's, but its busted in team modes. It should cost as much as a zwei because thats pretty much its power equivalent for score whoring.

But how would that fix ANYTHING?
You already have people running around naked wielding that thing?

You are suggesting to make the car more expensive because it drives so fast and thus causes so many accidents.
Stupid example, but... yeah.

Making the recurve bow 1 point cheaper made it MUCH better. I dont get whats not to understand? Less perks, less armor, ect.

It's the only thing I can think of to preserve it in duels. If you think of something better than feel free to share it.

Why do people come up with all kinds of dumb ideas when they could simply suggest to simply BALANCE it?

And the problem isn't about interaction or some other nonsense, it's about BALANCE.

All the tunnel-vision duel boys can keep their precious weapons in tact and the rest of us can have some semblance of balance in team modes.

Good multiplayer games usually have "interactivity" in their games. Maul is the complete opposite of interactivity. Its the same reason people hate horses and hate archers. You have no chance to interact with the player killing you. You don't have a chance to react when there are 5 - 12 mauls running around the map just padding their score off peoples backsides. Woops! Did you get hit by a carving knife? Guess that maul body shot is going to one shot you anyway.

Maul is CLEARLY worth more than 7 points in these modes. Please fix it. Or hey! Just nerf it in general. You built this elaborate game with deep mechanics but then you have this weapon that voids most of it.

"But maul is easy to 1v1"
Shut the fuck up, you cant 1v1 someone from behind you.
"Maul is so slow!"
Ripostes and accels are crazy powerful, weapon speed is easily the least important attribute of a weapon in this game.

All weapons are balanced for duels, but when it comes to frontline the devs dont give a fuck about balance. Thats why the maul is so cancerous. There is virtually no trade off for an uncounterable one hit kill to the back of the head and many people pad their score this way. Even if you cant land the 1 shot you are hitting people for 83 damage. The maul is a crutch and im glad most horse/maul players quit the game after failing to understand the games depth.

  1. As some pointed out, get to know the map.
  2. Bear traps and smoke bombs are your friend.
  3. Get the cat perk for easier escapes.
  4. Use the terrain to your advantage (rooftops, houses, ladders etc.)
  5. When backstabbing enemies, aim for the head.
  6. Dodge perk is a waste of points, since you move exactly 1mm and their zweihanders have a reach of 5000 kms.
  7. Avoid crowded places.
  8. Have a ranged option (throwables, archery) to pick off enemies out of reach with huntsman perk, if you can afford it.
  9. Don't stay at one place
  10. Git gud with your puny 1 point weapons.
  11. Kick
  12. Invest in some light or medium armor.
  13. Wear a hood. Self explanatory.

Dodge can be used if you like it. I like Dodge on Dagger a lot for the forward dodges. Dodge gets a bad rep, but its really good on some loadouts.

More specifically the house that is on top of spawn that all the blue nobles camp in. Its perfectly in between both spawn areas, and it only has 2 1x1 entrances to the 2nd story. Pretty much every game ends up there, and even if the team is really weak, they can extend the game by 10 or 12 minutes. Its even right above a supply crate. How could it be a more perfect spot? Here are some things I thought that would make it better.

  1. Move the supply crate way on the other side of the map
  2. Have a divider on the far spawn point so they cant just run directly to the house from the 2nd spawn point.
  3. Remove the wall facing the courtyard and replace it with an open balcony with huge windows so you can at least shoot through or firebomb.
  4. Make the entrances bigger or add more entrances to the building.

You need gooood game sense and map awareness. You need to think about where youre going to get overwhelmed from and when you can shank people without a lot of retaliations. Fire bombs are awesome in team modes for objectives, but they are really awesome for splitting groups of people up too. It's much harder to fight multiple long range weapons with a small weapon so the area-control of firebombs really helps to reduce that. Don't be afraid to run. Its easy to do if you have an escape path (map awareness) and its usually unexpected going from total aggression to full on retreat.

As an Alpha +100 level player, i can definitely confirm that the game is increasingly boring.

I thought animations would be fixed like 2 months ago, but they havent?

Swings are so indiscernible from one another. A forward overhead could just as easily be a left backswing to someone that doesnt wake up and Anime train on Mordhau.... I think this video says it best honestly .. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lus3GgLXNmM.

There are many games where exploits = skill... and mordhau is just one of them now. The only players that will be around this game in the foreseeable future are the ones that think they are masters of deception just because they found some way to exploit the turncap too appear like a bi-polar homeless man in SF asking for change before their strike.

I thought this game would be about responding to another players aggression, tactics, and strategy, ... but its just about looking as goofy as possible at all times while fighting.

When occasionally pressing lmb between scrolling up takes up so much brainpower that you forget about the existence of periods and capital letters.

Ad Hominem Attack. When one attacks the Person and not the actual Point being made. Sign that the person has no real argument and doesn't know what else to say. Usually used when one doesn't have anything to say and/or was getting destroyed and decides to say fuck it and goes after the person themselves. I can do it to, "King of the North is so fucking stupid that even a Kindergartener wouldn't use it". See, that is a Ad Hominem attack. How ever I don't do that. Now why don't you try and actually debate his points instead of Insulting him cause he's challenging your Views?

But I will agree, Grammer and Punctuation was HEAVILY needed. I hope we can at least agree on that.

Everytime someone says "Ad Hominem" on a forum, my mind cant help but wander to the mountain of pussy they must be getting.

I'm very sick of Invasion. Especially Grad, which people still have a hard-on for , for some unknown reason. So you play it every other map. I want to play frontline , not Hide and seek + Wall destruction simulator. Pz

i posted about this a long time ago, was a really long post too. the devs simply dont care that archery is fundamentally flawed sadly.

I personally dont think it's too far off from being in a good place. Huntsman just makes everything awkward. Recurve bow should win in close fights but it doesnt because of huntsman. You can't focus on shooting people with swords because other archers are too free because of huntsman. I think each bow would fall into its own role really well if it wasnt for the perk. Things like dropping your bow or not being able to parry can at least be mitigated with situational awareness and some good ducks.

The current huntsman perk is really restrictive to the bow gameplay. Its an auto-include on a weapon that is already 11 points, leaving you only 4 points to do anything with other than have a longbow. It also makes the recurve bow completely useless. The recurve bow doesnt really benefit from huntsman, as you cant even 1 shot level 1 armor with it, and you can't even block a 1 shot with a level 3 chest piece from longbow/crossbow, so there is no counterplay.

I believe the current huntsman perk dramatically limits the fun of bows, as you are eternally locked into just fighting the other bowman on the team in fear of being one shot.

I've thought of a few suggestions I thought would be cool.

Rework entirely -> Make enemy bowman appear with a marker above their head(some sort of sight bonus) Restrict their healing from kicking in for 30 seconds after being hit by your shot... or both.

Enable counterplay -> Drop the chest damage to 50% of what it is now, so you can counter the one-shots with level 3 or even level 2 armor... which is a large investment in bow builds due to the high point cost of bows... and this would force the other bowman to go for the one shot on the head.

Other suggestions ->

Give Huntsman a minimum range too where it wont activate, 8 feet or more..
Make Huntsman only activate if they have a bow EQUIPPED , not just a quiver on their person.
Let melee weapons benefit from huntsman instead or let all weapons benefit with the reduced chest damage.
