it was an issue with settings the 27015 port wrong, works perfectly now.
is there any way to set horde mode with damagefactor=2/3

There is enemy and team damage factor options in the BaseGame.ini but I'm not sure how they affect Horde. You can change the map rotation options and default server map option to only have horde maps.
I really hope you're trying to make horde harder cause I've heard its quite easy.

I generally don't like server advertisements in forum topics, but I see a lot of people complaining about the things in the title, so I thought they might appreciate knowing this exists.

I like the objective play of frontline but everyone gets frustrated when they just want to chop some heads off and can't even leave spawn without getting catapulted, killed by a horse or blocked by a team mate. I appreciate these things exist, but always good to have options.

Kind of irrelevant to the topic because I didn't read it and have no interest in horde, but I agree with your last point. The bots are actually decent for offline matches but the face hugging is annoying when you want to try some things. I commend how well they've made them but changes in that area would be great.

10k+ player count is not actually bad. It's quite impressive for this kind of game but the steady decline of player count is much noticeable in less popular game modes.

Yeah, I can't find tdm server below 50 ping anymore either. Is it too much to ask to host an official Western Euro tdm server. Just one will do.

I've tried hosting one in the past and nobody joined it, plenty join the duels ones though. I quite enjoy it as a game mode though so I might try again.

I am unable to find any information except that there are alot of people who are unable to get their dedicated servers working.

I am running on Manjaro, but a roommate is using Windows 10, and his doesn't even show in the server list.

The Steam API failed to initialise error is the problem. I've had this happen on windows and ubuntu and it was a pain. Are you hosting this locally? I would recommend getting a cheap CentOS VPS and trying it their, that worked best for me. Check out my dashboard thread for a one line install script. If it's not a reoccurring issue I don't think its a huge deal. My only guesses are that maybe a previously stuck connection to a server went through or some kind of race condition.

I only get packet loss with private servers that aren't up to spec. Official ones run fine unless they're a ways away. I'd like more than 10k players, but I'm lucky to be in the EU and not have any issues finding a game whatever the mode or time of day. It's always instant and matchmaking just works.

A completely retarded guess is 6 months for modding. I imagine comp to be 2 or 3 patches away with how much they've said its a priority and the backlash for it.

An option in the playerlist would help. You can kick from the chat and by using their 2 digit ID though. Most people don't know either of that.
