I dont like how the only viable way to play horde is, LMB, run, LMB for 1000 times. The devs should make the horde bots hit you for much less damage, allowing people to use more of the game’s mechanics beyond just lmb kiting, maybe also make it so the horde AI doesnt facehug you so hard.

Kind of irrelevant to the topic because I didn't read it and have no interest in horde, but I agree with your last point. The bots are actually decent for offline matches but the face hugging is annoying when you want to try some things. I commend how well they've made them but changes in that area would be great.

I think

That's probably the reason. I'd recommend getting an SSD. Even a USB 3.0 external drive would be faster

To all of you who keep saying the player base isn't dropping, OP linked an image with proof. Also I've noticed this as well, game has pretty much died for me as I live in Canada and can only play late at night. At around 2-6am there is only one or maybe 2 servers running in LA now, where as a month ago I there were around 3-5. I've seen it down to just one server running in LA with about 15-20 people in it.

Personally I think they really really need to hurry up with ranked mode. Game feels so casual I don't think currently many people even care win or lose. Ranked mode gets the adrenaline pumping and keeps people clicking "play again".

I too live in Canada and the TDM servers I usually played on (which are located in Chicago and Seattle) are disappearing. This week I noticed that there is only one server appearing on my server browser, sometimes none, I'll be lucky if I see 3 or 4 servers and only 2 of them I can join because of ping limitations.

Now Im being forced to play Frontlines (which we all know is a meat grinder and clusterfuck shit show), I don't mind playing on a scrim server but there are only a handful of servers that I can join in and most of the time, I'm on the wheelchair team.

10k+ player count is not actually bad. It's quite impressive for this kind of game but the steady decline of player count is much noticeable in less popular game modes.

Yeah, I can't find tdm server below 50 ping anymore either. Is it too much to ask to host an official Western Euro tdm server. Just one will do.

I've tried hosting one in the past and nobody joined it, plenty join the duels ones though. I quite enjoy it as a game mode though so I might try again.

This kinda got derailed form the OP's question about modifying ini files, so I'm going to try hijacking it for troubleshooting. I've been trying to get a dedicated server running for a bout a week. I followed the instructions in the forums for install and initial setup, but, while it shows up in LAN, no one can join. I am trying to join on the same computer that is running the server. I have tried using console command "join 127.0.0.1" Everyone gets "failed to update server information." The log has these 2 entries that indicate the problem. [2019.07.14-12.40.12:284][ 0]LogOnline: Warning: Mordhau: Steam API failed to initialize!
[2019.07.14-12.50.12:452][970]LogGameMode: Error: CanServerTravel: FURL :7781//Game/Mordhau/Maps/DuelCamp/FL_Camp?Name=Player?listen blocked, contains : or \
I am unable to find any information except that there are alot of people who are unable to get their dedicated servers working.

I am running on Manjaro, but a roommate is using Windows 10, and his doesn't even show in the server list.

The Steam API failed to initialise error is the problem. I've had this happen on windows and ubuntu and it was a pain. Are you hosting this locally? I would recommend getting a cheap CentOS VPS and trying it their, that worked best for me. Check out my dashboard thread for a one line install script. Here's the main commands I use to setup CentOS instances https://github.com/leona/gs-admin-api/blob/master/bin/setup-mordhau.sh

If it's not a reoccurring issue I don't think its a huge deal. My only guesses are that maybe a previously stuck connection to a server went through or some kind of race condition.

It's a well known exploit. If it's a private server I don't think they'll do much though, but next time post his steam ID.

Weekend = 10k players which = sloppy servers, high packet loss and disconnect warnings. They seem to struggle with the player base as it is.

I only get packet loss with private servers that aren't up to spec. Official ones run fine unless they're a ways away. I'd like more than 10k players, but I'm lucky to be in the EU and not have any issues finding a game whatever the mode or time of day. It's always instant and matchmaking just works.

The fact you need to open console to votekick unless someone says something in chat is really glaring. I like to think that the developers are working on a system where you can select from the scoreboard (and actually SCROLL DOWN the scoreboard too), and where it displays kick reason and team damage et cetera.

For a game like this I don't think it's a problem. When RCON support comes it'll be a problem the community will solve.

We need a steam workshop. If the devs think they can do everything with a 11 man team, lmao.

True, IMO allowing people to mod this game should be their top priority after completing competitive and fixing their communication

Pretty sure they already are top priority. Competitive first and then modding. Mod support, if extensive, will be awesome.

I hope so

Granted that, that won't be 2 years

A completely retarded guess is 6 months for modding. I imagine comp to be 2 or 3 patches away with how much they've said its a priority and the backlash for it.

An option in the playerlist would help. You can kick from the chat and by using their 2 digit ID though. Most people don't know either of that.

Can we please get this topic Pinned?

Out of 3300 servers, why do you think your one deserves a pin on the front page of the forum?

99.9% of all of those servers are exactly the same my friend,

We offer a totally diff style of experience that's really a lot of fun while throwing in some optional training mechanics and things that can make you a better player and are just plain awesome.

For instance have you ever experienced multiple chambers in mid air
or a jump over hander to some ones head, or upward slash jump kills?
The feeling is so epic and you cant get that anywhere but our server.

Wouldn't you want to know about some epic stuff you were missing out on daily?

I know I would.

Its a complete gimmick. Most people do not enjoy it and I gaurentee no skilled players regularly come to your server. It's worth having slomo servers, and I give you props for running one, but no server should have a pinned post. And especially not an extremely niche one.

There's no point in this. Long weapons are slow, short weapons are fast. Why should long weapons have another disadvantage?

if long vs short weapons were equally balanced, you would see an equal number of them

We don't
Its obvious two handers are dominant.

Usage is not stat of balance. Frontline is more popular as a game mode but it doesn't mean it should be used for competitive play. I enjoy long weapons more because I have the time to think about each attack rather than spam feints and stabs. I still use and enjoy short weapons but I also think they serve their place perfectly.

A lot of it is the divide of game modes people play though. I only have problems connecting to modes not supported by matchmaking. I made a breakdown of this here http://mordhau.nx.ie/stats

Im not saying extend the range, just maybe match the animations to the hitbox, because i keep whiffing as I watch it go through someones face :/

Depends on the server and tick too though. I just beefed up one of my servers and there's a lot less clipping now.
