Hello,
why not make it possible to host more than one server per machine?
I am running Windows Server 2019 and created a Hyper-V centOS 7 for mordhau and need to order for every hyper-v a new IP. I don't like the resource wastage.

I'll add it to the todolist then. I built it around droplet based hosts, which are fast, cheap and each have unique IP addresses. Local hosting or hosting on dedicated servers was never part of my original plan, but you're not the first to ask so I think it would be worth implementing.

My first instinct is to use CoreOS for multi-server setups, so you would need just one VM in this case, while having multiple containers running inside.. Would be easier to allocate and resize resources, plus I might not need to make any changes to the current CentOS flow as I can map the ports to different external ones.

Update: I tried all of those suggestions which made no change, it actually made things significantly worse turning everything down -- BUT... the ragdoll count and duration seems to be a big one; I turned that down as low as my immersion would allow me. I'm useing the 250 FPS cap and the main menu's FPS to fine tune my graphics. I have set my graphics such that I'm now getting 240 FPS in the main menu which seems to work as a makeshift point of reference to find a balance between GPU utilization and CPU capability which nets me an average FPS of about 50-60 mid team fight. I think this is as good as it gets for now until they come up with a way to better optimize the game. I hope someone else finds this helpful.

Keep textures on high and try lowering the render scale also. What usage is your CPU at? As said already, I presume it to be at 100%.

I've not been able to find a config for it either. Using cheatengine I was able to find a pointer for it though, which could be useful for programmatically changing it.

I also noticed this happening when using a locally hosted windows server for testing.

I did a fresh install when I upgraded. I plan on switching to the faster CPU option in a day or two. I'll do a fresh install when I do.
no lag that I was aware of before it restarts.

You shouldn't need to upgrade if you only have 24 slots. Have you always had this issue then, even before you did the fresh install? I'd be curious to see what's going on here.

Is anyone using this on vultr getting random restarts? The restarts are fast but they still kick everyone playing.

How often and what plan are you using? There is daily restarts at 6am, but this can be changed.

There's restart within 3-5 games. It was happening with the cheapest $5 1core plan, so I upgraded to the $20 2cores and it is still happening. What time zone is that 6am restart? Server is a 24 slot 120tick duel server using your handy preset for duel servers. For all I know it's not a full restart but everyone playing looses connection to host and the map is restarted when I rejoin.

Thats really odd, I've never come across that. Do you just have the one server? I'm wondering if maybe the other host in the vicinity is using up a lot of the CPU so maybe it's crashing. Do you notice any lag before it crashes and have you tried recreating the server?

Can you use this with a self hosted server or do I need to rent a server to use this?

As long as its a Linux server with the centos 7 distribution you can use the combo list method.

Most people don't get stuttering. So have you come here to complain or ask for help? Best not to do both.

Windows server is built on Windows 10. So really it makes zero difference. It's easier on Win 10 Pro for installing the dependencies.

Update, it's just done it again:

Can someone explain what that is doing?

I might move it over to Linux as this is p*ssing me off!

Windows Server is built specifically for running 24/7 with increased performance. Windows 10 will keep unnecessary things like the desktop environment running all of the time.

What is it doing wrong again? Doesn't look that abnormal.

I'd recommend linux too. Will be cheaper as well. Here's a funny stat

Windows for server hosting isn't great to start with. But even my linux servers restart daily at 6AM. Setup some scheduled tasks to restart at a quiet time and to also run the executable on boot.

Also why are you using Windows 10 Professional on a cloud machine and not Windows Server?

Shameless self promotion, but if you want to create/manage servers on linux extremely easily, check out my thread here. You'll get $50 worth of hosting free too.

Uncap the 60 fps limit from the settings page, try an older GPU driver and also try lower the render scale.

Since the SDK technically IS Unreal Engine, you can download Unreal right now and start blocking out the general layout of your map using Unreal's default shapes and brushes. When the SK is release you just continue working in your map (or simply select all objects and copy&paste it into an SDK map) and then start filling out the details with actual meshes.

I would NOT import your own assets just yet. We don't know what is and what isn't allowed by the SDK. You don't want to import a ton of fancy medieval castle assets only to find it's impossible to properly migrate those assets to a custom Mordhau map.

Yeah, I mean stealing assets from the current maps could be done I'd imagine but we'd need to know what version of the UE4 engine is used and little fiddly things like that. As you say the SDK is the editor but having the devs clarify some of the details would be nice. If it's possible to just use the editor, that would be awesome and an sdk wouldn't be needed.

The sdk is what will be used for functional mods and ue will be for maps. Unless they suddenly open source it.

Thanks a ton for setting this up Gambit, everything looks extremely promising! It took me a while to figure out that I had to click on the "Needs authorizing" due to the SSL. Other than that so far so good!

Thanks man and I appreciate the feedback. I've setup info about the vultr setup below, and was going to set one up for details like that. In the meantime I've just pushed a change to make it say "Click to authorise" instead, so hopefully that is clearer. Let me know if you have any other issues.

Saying Jesus Christ in vain is blasphemous and highly offensive to myself and millions upon millions of Christians, and I read it and hear it daily from fellow gamers. However, I've never demanded censure or bans or other fixes regarding this language.

We can't force each other to be exactly the way we want the other to be. If you dont like that server name, don't join them. It may go away naturally from being unpopular.

I understand feeling cringe at reading a word or phrase, but it's really best to just let it go and worry about bigger things

That is an awful comparison.

Server names are one thing I definitely think should be filtered, if not from a moral standpoint but a Mordhau publicity one. Imagine the amount of google results come up with Mordhau and nigger because of battlemetric listings. ISPs and parental filters will start classing it as a hate website.

Why is it such an issue? I'm sure it's an intended mechanic to throw you off.
