Been dying for some smaller team objective modes.

Frontline is fun to play in small doses before receding back into duel servers for the rest of my play session. It’s just too chaotic.

Yep, this is an awesome idea. Customizing team colors would be great. Red and blue works but feels pretty generic.

The only problem would be if the enemy team jumped on your ballista. If they were pressuring your base and using it against you, you would have no way to prevent them from wrecking you with your own weapons. This happens on Grad all the time.

Poster above me suggested turning FXAA off, so I did that just now and played a match on Camp. First at 60 fps lock and I couldn't hold 60 at all. Dropped the lock to 50 and I held it for the most part, but still in any combat I would drop to 43ish. Couple times it skipped hard down to 24.

Again, I'm not good with this stuff. No idea why its doing this. I assume video card.

Turning off fxaa didn’t stabilize my FPS either but it did eliminate all of the visual and audio stuttering that I was getting in frontline.

My FPS is still not entirely stable but adjusting certain settings in game, in the games .ini file and in the games properties definitely helped with FPS drops. They still happen occasionally but I hardly notice them anymore.

Turning FXAA off stopped my video and audio stuttering entirely. Clearing up space on my hardrive also helped a lot with this.

As far as FPS goes, turning off things like head bob, motion blur, setting view distance to low and going in the games .ini file to turn shadows down to zero keeps my FPS stable.

Besides.. feints are easy to read. It’s much harder to parry an attack from a player who contorts their body at wierd angles and drags their attacks.

Did you read the part where i said the combat looks ridiculous?

I hear you on that. The contortionism looks wonky as fuck. No argument there.

This combat is just idiotic beyond belief, and looks ridiculous, it is a fucking roulette, it is RNG based like, there is 0 skill in this garbage feint/morph system, it is like playing a card game or something were you get random shit and it is all about faking shit to make the opponent believe something else, it is not about how good are you at fighting no, it is all about faking shit.

And this is why people play with shields, because they let you bypass entirely or minimize the effects of this dogshit RNG combat system.

If combat was limited to parry/riposte it would only lead to stalemates or just turn into a stamina game which would make smaller and lighter weapons useless against mauls and evening stars.

Have you ever tried to feint someone better than you and they don’t fall for it? It’s just practice, dude. There is literally nothing RNG about this game unless you count dying to a treb on camp.

Besides.. feints are easy to read. It’s much harder to parry an attack from a player who contorts their body at wierd angles and drags their attacks.

If you’re fighting someone who only uses feints to throw you off. Literally all you have to do is swing at them and you will land a hit..

My only real complaint about lunge is that if you have any lag or packet loss it looks very much like rubber banding. When your starting out it screws with your sense of weapon range. Not sold it should be removed just wish there was a way to make it look smoother.

If you’re getting pocket loss you should stop playing until whatever is causing it gets corrected or try to fix it if it’s on your end. Lunge or not, if your lagging that bad you’d lose the majority of fights anyways.

I’ve thought about this in the past, especially during times when you seemingly die out of nowhere. Ultimately though I don’t think it’s totally necessary but I wouldn’t be against it being an optional setting either. It would sure be a lot easier to catch players hiding in walls and using other exploits if we did have a kill cam though.

Tai... Taiga? Frontline? What are these things you speak of? I know only of 24/7 crossroads mode. You speak nonsense.

I’m sure you guys are working on releasing more. But choosing from the 3 current styles doesn’t feel too great at the moment.

Yea so I kinda agree and don't agree with Tim.

What we are missing in the game mainly imho:

  • WHO are fighting ?
  • WHY they are fighting ?

They are fighting but what for ?
Is it for a King who just wants gold coinz or for a rebellious noble of said king to set the kingdom on the right track ?
Is it a simple invasion on a kingdom ?
Simply the answer is, we just don't know. Because there isn't a lore atm. Sure we have team names of Iron Company and Whatever the name of blue is, can't even remember it, and that they are mercenary companies.
But why are the sides in this war use mercenary companies instead of a proper organized army ?

I think we need a good lore behind the fighting scenes before the map designs or whatnot. They are content for now but their background is empty. Cause imho, nothing gives a game or any fiction product better personality than a solid, interesting lore.

Maps should have their own purposes in the lore too, why is it that we free peasants in Grad but not free any prisoners in Camp ? Could be a choice to have variations in map objectives to not be repetitive surely but then we need some reason to believe so. Maybe the owners of the camp executed the prisoners while sieging the main fortress or maybe they just don't take prisoners to begin with.

We have nothing to build the Mordhau world upon. So..

lore
lore

lore

lore

lore

lore

On the other hand, I have problems with the objectives given on maps rather than the map design itself. I don't see the hate Crossroads is getting either. Sure we have a open field and a small castle like ruins with treehouse, still not making use of the open field cause the objective is ONLY a King of The Hill type inside the ruins. Again we are in need of a lore on the map to see why its a Crossroad and why we need to capture a ruin ?

Is it on a main trade route ? Then why is it a ruin ?
If it is a ruin why do companies want to capture it ?
Why do we have 2 stables in middle of nowhere ? Its a crossroad, why don't we see any main roads leading to some interesting faraway scenery like a city in distance or a trade port ?

Sure there are minor map design flaws that don't make sense but nothing that can't be fixed we ease.

'Y'all better back up your claims that WOMEN weren't FIGHTERS and BLACKS weren't KNIGHTS but you can't because you're all UNEDUCATED RACISTS'

Not arguing your point but just to clarify, the mercenaries we create in this game are not knights per se. More of a sellsword type, if anything, rather than Knight. This should however, validate your point because whose to say there were NO black sellswords. Females too for that matter, especially from the Viking era where female bones have been discovered in Viking burial sites.

In all seriousness, more tabard clothing would be nice, maybe shorter capes that were less cloth physics heavy but otherwise idk man.

fire bombs and taiga camp fires have sadly set many cape wearing mercenaries ablaze killing them by the thousands.

But yeah, the physics thing crossed my mind after posting this. It seems a lot of people, including myself, play with cloth turned off. Might make long capes look a little wonky. But that shit would look so rad if there was a work around

Is there a way to change this from toggle on ‘held’ to toggle on ‘click’?

Also, if this is even possible would it allow me to scroll the scoreboard? Sometimes not all player names are visible. I know the patch notes mentioned something about auto scrolling but I’m not entirely sure what that is.

  • Horses will sometimes but very rarely poop.

  • You can then pick up said poop if you’re lucky enough to come across it and throw it at your enemies.

  • Proceed to laugh emote at the smelliest player in the server.

That's crazy. Does it do damage?

1:45 Looks like a 1 shot kill lol
