to be fair modders that release in 1 month are mostly just duel maps. Triternion maps are much bigger in order to use for invasion/frontline. My map I built alone, only stopping to ask sr. modders questions such as blueprint questions and such. Put 140 hours over 4 months into it. Now they got 2 maps with I'm sure similar amount per maps, but with better results.

And modders with the help of TRITERNION were able to release the uSDK you are talking about. Do more research before you make such claims.

140 hours are not even a month of work. Developing this game is their profession now. They should start acting professional. Until they do people have every right to complain.
As it stands now, you accomplished more than them in your free time.

Do you really think the devs quit their day jobs to support Mordhau full time?

lol what a bunch of cry babies. it's almost like you thought mordhau was going to be the final chapter of your shitty lives or something.

like seriously what is with your generation where you think it's normal to just fucking whine and cry so much? what did you spend, like $30 or whatever on a video game? did you think that qualified to you act like your in a ferrarri dealership buying 10 cars and the sales guy has to kiss your ass?

you spend $30 and think anyone fucking cares.... i wasted $50 on stupid appetizers from boston pizza last night and they sucked, maybe i should invest serious hours of my life crying about it on a fucking discussion forum.

the sad shit is, even after i point this out to you, you are literally too stupid to realize i'm right and will continue crying. if 1% of your generation spent a proporional amount of effort on things that they spent REAL AMOUNTS OF MONEY on, like their college degree, their homes, their cars, cleaning up their community, they would live in the nicest places in the world. instead, you get on here with your entittled $30 video game receipt acting like anyone - at all - in the whole fucking world - should care 1% about anything you have to say.

you're fucking worthless

Agreed.

Also, mappie when?

Dev's solution from Discord (downloading and placing DLL worked for me):

If you are experiencing "VAC check timed out" issues. Please check this folder and make sure that you have this SteamService.dll. This has been missing for a few players with this error. To be clear, make sure that you are looking in the correct location for this file. It will not be in your steam install, but in a folder called "Steam" under a folder called "Common Files" under Program Files (x86). See the attached image. Additionally, if you do have this file, but are still experiencing this error, you can make sure the service is running via task manager under services. tried starting steam as admin? unplug any usb except keyboard/mouse
check if steam client service is running in the task manager > services tab

Starting Steam as admin has no effect for me.

Steam Client Service is not running. Attempting to start it makes it close immediately upon starting.

Suggestion: heater / kite cost 4/5 respectively. Apply 3/3/3 movement only while raising shield, slightly lengthen 'recovery' lag from block to neutral

This level 2 helm will "muffle" character speech like level 3 helms will. Intended or bug?

Nice 3-point essay. 92% A-

1: Map balance continues to evolve with every patch. Crossroads in particular has seen tremendous improvement since patch 8.

2: As an advanced player, I feel like weapon balance is in a good spot. The devs are continuing to fine tune weapon profiles to widen gameplay dymanics at the competitive level. I agree that there are low-effort high-reward tactics that new players have trouble adapting to (rapier shield), but the best way to understand a system's weakness is to try it yourself and understand why you die.

3: People aren't perfect, and neither is ping. Mordhau, like many real time games, is best enjoyed at low-latencies. Higher pings create desynchronization between players and the server, which can be seen in warping animations and movement. Unfortunately, the internet is a complex and imperfect system, and high lag may get you killed. Not much can be done about it aside from playing the game at slower speed (server slomo) to compensate for high ping

Using CFTP costs hella stam. Follow up your whiff punish with pressure and you'll win a disarm.

This wouldn't fix anything as it doesn't address the base problem with shields: held blocks (in their current iteration at the very least) do not belong in Mordhau.

"They base problem with held block shields is that they don't belong in Mordhau as-is"

Yes, that's what we're discussing.

Chivalry held block shields had a similar mechanic that drained stamina from raising your shield for too long. I think this would make shields interesting in Mordhau if the drain start time and rate were tweaked.

Held block shields should be a moderate-cost side grade that enable an alternate playstyle to 2h meta.

I would like to see kicks buffed instead of shields nerfed. Maybe add a lunge mechanic similar to weapon attacks to increase range? The less armor you have, the farther you lunge?

So much salty tears. Can we calmly discuss where shields are versus where they should be to support a diverse and healthy meta?

For 2-3 equipment points, a held block shield offers a stronger defense against parry-baiting attacks like morphs, drags, and feints. Currently, they have considerable weaknesses in stamina management, movement speed, 1h weapon limit, vision obstruction, and kick vulnerability. Vision obstruction can also be used offensively by positioning the shield near the enemy's perspective.

I think that patch 8 and 9 shields were over powered in the current meta because of how popular parry-baiting attacks are. In patch 10, shields are extremely vulnerable to kicks and stamina attacks. I think held block shields should cost more (3 heater, 4 kite), have the stamina negation of patch 8/9, but keep other nerfs like axe vulnerability, movent speed, and minimum held block time. This would make shields viable while still being counterable with axes and kicks.

As a diamond 1 shield main: Shields are balanced. They have poor stam drain negation and gimped movement speed. Y'all are salty that your drags and morphs can't punish an early parry vs held block. Adjust your playstyle and learn jump/z stabs instead of begging the devs to protect you from getting better. Shields are slow, tired turtles. Figure it out.

Also, heater block box is smaller than parry box.
