Don't forward ports if your server is in DMZ. DMZ means EVERY port is open.

Who said forward ports? Did you read the whole post?

Like the title say, when steam overlay is disabled I cant create a party pressing the '+' button either send an invitation from steam chat.
I still can accept invites to parties but I not be able to create them. I think that it could be considered a bug.. maybe?

Yep they're on the same local network here at home.

I did try the "open xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:7777" command on console as some people suggested but it does nothing for me when trying to connect to my local server.

Good luck on your case though, and if you do figure it out I'd love to hear how you fixed it. Cheers!

If it doesn't work in the console then your ports aren't open or you're using the wrong local address.

Not to hijack this topic, but anyway I did put on my post on the main Linux Dedicated Server guide which indicated my ports are indeed open as anyone outside the network is able to join my server just fine, and it gets traffic from randoms on the Internet. Only I being on the same network am unable to join/see it. And yes, I am 100% positive I am connecting to the correct local IP.

Dont worry to hijack.

As I said before I tried to forward the traffic from my pc IP to server IP, I forwarded successfully the traffic but in game it doesn't work.

My second option was put the server in the same network that is my pc but if don't work for you I don't think that will work for me.

Maybe it could be a bug? Because don't work either in the same network but work for internet players.

Are you trying to connect outside of the game, from in steam or an intent based URI? I've been trying to do the same in a browser and I think its bugged. Friends have been able to do it sometimes but not always, but I haven't been able to use the usual steam://connect/ipaddress uri. Connecting in game from the console is fine though.

Also what are the output messages when you start the server? Just to rule out any port issues. And have you tried stopping the other game that is running and then running mordhau to see if that works?

Yes, I tried using steam server list and steam://connect, but no ones work.

here is the logs of the server:
https://pastebin.com/qhBNkMnA

You can see that in the last lines show NotifyAcceptingConnection these appears when I join the server using steam://connect or steam servers list, but ingame nothing happend.

Also I stoped the other game when I was testing this.

Your pc and the server are in the same network? not even in server browser lan tab? weird...

I think that devs should have to make a console command for connect to a specific IP or add a feature to add servers as favorites.

In this days I will try to make a portforward in my pc to forward traffic to the server, just for enter "open 127.0.0.1" and see what happend.

I'll post any update here.

Hi,

I recently setup my own server in a DMZ, I opened all port that needed, actualy the people can see it in server browser but I cant. I added it like favorite server in steam server list, there apears but I cant join it.

I already tried put in console "open <ip>:<27015 or 7777> and open <ip>" but it doesnt work.

I used these ports (all are open in the FW betwen my pc and the server)

-Port=7777
-QueryPort=27015
-Beaconport=15000

When I add the server in Steam Server list, I put <IP>:27015 then I see the server info like
game
map
IP (here show <IP>:7777)
players

Clicked on Join Game but nothing happend and doesnt appears any server log.
When I add it like <IP>:7777 non information is given and server appers like "not responding" but when I click refresh this appears on server log:

'LogNet: NotifyAcceptingConnection accepted from: 172.16.16.103:56991' (that is my pc IP)

Any sugestion?

Is not the firewall, actualy I have an instance of other game runing in the same server and there is no problem whit it.
