It just forces people to play differently and they get mad when the tactics they are used to using don't work. Flame them in chat when they talk shit lol.

Bottom line, even if you can out-duel me I'll just shoot you, over and over again

No anti-cheat in place upon release. Then a ban wave that banned thousands of innocent people. Now this. What next?

Hopefully it doesn't take too long to fix, or at least minimalize, hacking for real because these half-measures are not effective, or fair, or right.

the banwave banned 2000 people, most of whom were cheating

90% of the brainlets playing this game will fall for the stab to overhead morph over and over again. "Parrying at the last second" isn't going to save you, since the speed of a stab requires reaction time that most people don't have, so they parry towards the end of the windup. Naturally, morphing to overhead will punish this directly. People also give up the initiative and play defensively when they should be punishing the slower weapon because they think a much faster stab is coming and they don't know how to chamber.

lol you mean the sweaty nerds to know how to press q? Too bad they fall to pieces the moment you morph an attack or pull out a shield. What makes you think that just because I like to fill kniggas with arrows I don't know how to swordfight. People who can't take advantage of bows or other ranged weapons are missing out on half the game. If you can't dodge/parry arrows you have only yourself to blame.

I main archer specifically to break up interesting fights. I play without team colors so I can memorize who the most skilled players are on the other team so I can prioritize shooting at them. I mean really, just parry the arrows dummy. Or just wiggle around them lmao. My favorite part is when they switch to the default archer class because they want to fire back, and then I plink them to death in one hit like it's nothing because they don't know how to play archer. I will do my best to ruin all of your fights. I will never let you enter a swordfight with all of your health. You will always be at a disadvantage. And then when you try and run around the map to sneak up on me, abandoning the rest of your team to fight it out, I'll brain you with a waraxe and you'll be dead. LMFAO. Swordcucks are pathetic.

Whether or not YOU think it's "needed" is irrelevant, as competitive matchmaking was a stretch goal in the kickstarter that was reached. So, it is confirmed. The question is when will it be implemented. Honestly have no idea why you would bother to post if you have no idea what you are talking about.

I'm not trying to say you shouldn't go for high kill counts or whatever, you do you. I play archer exclusively. My point is just that it is a lot easier to run into a group of people and swing a zweihander around if you want a lot of kills. Successful archery requires a very different play style other "classes". It requires you to look at distance and positioning in a very different way while you are picking targets. As a result, unless you focus on taking out wounded opponents it's going to be challenging to keep up with people whole can kill 2-3 opponents with one swing.

The only buffs I could see that the Devs willing to make would be a slight increase in arrow speed, and MAYBE a slight buff in damage, by like 5 points. People are scared of archers performing like they did in chivalry and they want to avoid that as much as they can, so they will be very hesitant to buff bows in any big way. I honestly doubt they will do anything unless people get really vocal about it.

Is there an ETA for the implementation of competitive matchmaking? Are their bigger things on the agenda to complete first?

This thread is a riot. Just make the arrows a little faster, that's all that bows need. What so many people fail to realize is that archery does not exist for players to meaningfully contribute to the team or to rack up high kill counts. Archery is specifically for planting an arrow in skilled players while they are busy having Le Honourable Duels. It's for annoying the shit out of people. It's still highly effective in fulfilling this purpose in Mordhau, so there is really not much to complain about. I can't wait to play archer in competitive.

PS: just hold the arrow a little longer and wait for them to parry, it's just like feinting

The answer is clear: have the PoQ shoot them. Not a long term solution but it's good to keep in mind for when it happens.

We can all do so much more if we agree to avoid shooting each other until we are the last ones left. We can focus on shooting knights without fear of being sniped. When you shoot another archer inevitably leads to an archer fight that takes away from time spent shooting knights. It's kind of like the prisoner's dilemma. If we both work together, we can do so much more!
