There are plenty of reasons to wearing lighter armor: more points for perks, more expensive weapons, movement speed. You should provide constructive argument first.

My wild guess is that you launch the game with a whitespace parameter.
Try going into the games properties on Steam and making sure that you remove everything from this box:

Funny, I actually borrowed once a digital USB pedal from a friend to try somthing like this, but it was kinda shit and I'd rather take my autosprint and have my thingers on most useful actions at all times

True, hold sprint is overall better for the feel, but I have bound feints to 'shift', and there is no going back

I don't like my hand beeing glued to 'shift' all the time. Old sprint-toggle partially solved that, but wasn't optimal either.

Have an option to make sprint permanent and add bind for a 'walk' key.

I have solved this for myself through AutoHotkey script (can provide if anybody wants), but it's wanky in some ways and imho should already be in the game.

Bind alt attack modifier to Space or something else comfortable, you'll need only 4 binds for attacks then

Having time to regenerate stamina is not very much "in the middle of a fight". I'd rather hold extra key when needing a short while to regen stamina than having to hold it in the real moment of a fight when I have to worry about pressing all the other keys.

I get where you're comming from. All my time in Chivalry I played the way you describe it, autorun just makes more sense to me now. I want is as an option.

Since the toggle sprint was a popular request and devs have added it, it must mean that people do want it. And I think the autorun with dedicated 'walk' key would be an improvement.

Really? CS, Doom, Quake, Half-Life and plenty of other fps have it the over way around.

Why? Because you almost always want to sprint in this game, it doesn't make much sense to also be holding shift key all the time while you also press WSAD, Feint, Kick and/or alternative strike modifier.

I know that we already have toggle sprint but it's a bit of pain to activate it after every death and it's cumbersome to use when you want to walk for just a moment.

What I suggest is classic implementation of autosprint, meaning:
-you enable autosprint in options
-when enabled, you sprint by default (even after death)
-'sprint' key becomes 'walk' key
-your wang gets even bigger

Feints are fine. Stabs are easy to chamber and side feints are not that hard to read, more so if you maintain the distance as you should.
