I'm sure we'll get every sort of custom map imaginable at some point later on, but for now we can just sort of suggest them for those dedicated map builders who make such cool maps for us to play.

I've always enjoyed Star Wars' Endor, so a sort of tree village would be really cool.
I'd also like to see something like The Valley of Drakes from Dark Souls. The ambience and tight space of that map would be pretty cool for smaller game modes, I think.

Folks on Chivalry: Medieval Warfare told me about it. I checked it out, but didn't bother researching it too much until the kickstarter.

Let's delay the Alpha until we can buy this merchandise.

Unless you all plan on dying by the end of the month, I don't see the problem.

Just get rid of all ways to tell friend from foe, then hope you don't kill your teammates as you swing your weapon at everyone in sight.

Even if I wanted to, I doubt I'd have the time for it, unfortunately.

Sounds fun. Hope you guys can pull it off.

I rewatched the first devblog video again, recently. I noticed the guy who was wielding a sword would still use his arms to block someone punching him. I thought that was really cool.
Makes me wonder, if a sword and a fist strike at once, what will they use to block?

Competitive Matchmaking could take awhile, so being able to FFA against bots or to have a sort of training area would be pretty nice.

I don't plan on playing comp very much, other than when my friends want me to. Pretty sure they said there'll be a server browser, and I think that just works a lot faster for finding the match you want.

I had plenty of money to spend on whatever, so I just thought it'd be cool to give money to a game that looks like it will be the best in the genre I so enjoy.

All these months later and I'm still not sure what emblems to make.

I think this monkey must be quite capable to have become a knight.

Something sort of like Chivalry's Man At Arms. 'Course I won't be able to dodge, but I prefer being able to move around fast. I also like the feel of one handed weapons, despite it being seemingly easier to beat people with a two hander.

Guess they got pretty crabby when you put them in that bucket.

Every once in awhile on some weekend to get more folks interested in the game, sure.

Given you can pick up weapons around the map, either spawned there or dropped by other players, mod support, and the ease of being passive in a game that doesn't have you dying in the blink of an eye, I assume making roleplaying servers wouldn't be too hard.

In your own Chivalry server you can set the time limit to basically be infinite, so I would assume it'd be easy to, say, make the ticket count in the "Conquest" mode infinite. You could then make custom maps fitting of roleplay, and then if you really want you could just use something like Discord to talk... Though a proximity feature would be more convenient if there are lots of people.

So while this game isn't marketing as a roleplaying game, I can see it easily being done.

They haven't sent out keys yet. When they do, I'm sure they'll email you where to get your key.

I'm not big on roleplay, but I've always fancied the idea of skill-based combat in a multiplayer medieval open world. Always enjoyed open world RPGs like The Elder Scrolls, but they'd be even better if the combat was skill-based instead of stat-based, and if it was multiplayer.

I imagine we'll have to wait a bit longer for really good internet before MMOs can get proper swordplay, sadly. This sounds like a good start, though. I'd like to see something like this implemented, though I imagine it would take a ton of work.

Hopefully I can get a voice as goofy as a Man At Arms.

I wonder what you all heard in your head when you read this. First thing that came to mine was the agathian knight.

Agathian MAA.

They'll probably give us an exact date towards the end of August.

Maybe those fuckhuge battering rams in addition to what you mentioned too?

Mm, yes, those would be very nice. Given the lack of Team Objective like Chivalry had, I'm trying to picture how they'd work in some situations, but we'll just have to see.

I assume by vehicles, other than horses, they mean catapults (which appear mobile in the gameplay/kickstarter trailer) and the ballista. Perhaps there are others currently in the game, but those two work just fine for me.

Thanks for keeping us updated. We've waited this long, so I'm sure we can all wait just a month longer.
