Just spam parry feint nonstop as someone slowly drags their weapon to you so you can block no matter how they time their swing.

But hey, at least they drained half your stam in the process, right?

Before the shied jump was discovered I felt Chivalry was on it's last legs. With the discovery of said jump it was as if an entirely new game and world was discovered in the realm of melee combat. It's amazing what a lil jump can do to the longevity of a video game. I strongly suggest this or some-other form of a shield jump is exploited by those behind Mordhau.

Indeed. Such a feature in Mordhau would make the game last many years longer than it would otherwise.

Nah, this is definitely on topic with Mordhau.

Shield jumping (double jumping) ON A HORSE

Like the exact same Chivalry animation but ON A HORSE

YEAH

Incredible. This must be done.

how is it hard to learn? lol

Some people it takes a few minutes. Others it takes days. Gotta be told how it's done first, though.

I like this idea, but it could be a bit tricky to learn each player's idle pose so you don't panic parry when they aren't doing anything.

... At least for new players. I would assume plenty of skilled players would catch on in a manner of seconds.

Shield jumping (double jumping) is extremely important in Chivalry, as it allows you to jump over heads, get atop tall structures and escape maps.

It allows you to annoy people people on LTS when they would have delayed the game by being passive anyway.
It lets you explore wonky parts of maps that shouldn't be accessed.
It allows you to perch atop structures and taunt all enemies without ranged weapons.
Lastly, it allows you to crowd surf across an army of allies and enemies in a corridor with a high ceiling.

This is clearly a much needed feature that should be added to Mordhau. Of course it should be extremely difficult to learn, like how it is in Chivalry. This would clearly make the game much more fun and competitive for all players.

I won't be surprised if they start selling or giving away keys once they release the 32v32 mode. Gonna need a lot of people to fill those servers up.

Yes, you always flinch when hit. No hit trades.

Walk the opposite direction of their drag and stab them with a fast weapon. No hit trading in this game, lads.

I've had no problems, but I haven't played it since this morning. I guess I'll find out sometime soon if my loadout was deleted as well.

A bit surprised all three of my Chivalry friends lost in the first round. Maybe they're just not used to the game yet...

It's definitely not as fast as the trailers show, but I can only assume that's because everyone's still getting the hang of it and it's rare to see anyone chamber any attacks. Two of my friends were practicing chambers and clashing and it looked very fast, but yeah, using it in actual combat is tricky.

Same with clashes, when you clash with someone sparks go flying and you both think "Oh they parried" and stop attacking, expecting a riposte. Nope, it was a clash, and neither of you carry on the clash for those cool looking scenes.

Now I assume this will change as people get better, and we'll see and play like seen in the gameplay trailer... That could take some time though, lol.

Drags are a lot harder to read than they are in Chivalry, I find. Often times it seems the blade is just ignoring my block and hitting me anyway, and I've found that stab drags definitely aren't as easy as they were in Chivalry.

I'd say any game where you don't kill each other the split second you see each other can easily be played casually or passively.

The kickstarter stretch goal we got last was comp matchmaking, so I assume true competitive play will be kept there, rather than servers found on, say, the server browser.

Even though it's a medieval game I feel that gladiators need some game representation that this fits into quite nicely.

Would definitely be nice to have Gladiator styled maps and customizations options. Why stop at being the medieval warrior you want when you could also become the ancient warrior you want?

I'm sure we'll get every sort of custom map imaginable at some point later on, but for now we can just sort of suggest them for those dedicated map builders who make such cool maps for us to play.

I've always enjoyed Star Wars' Endor, so a sort of tree village would be really cool.
I'd also like to see something like The Valley of Drakes from Dark Souls. The ambience and tight space of that map would be pretty cool for smaller game modes, I think.

Folks on Chivalry: Medieval Warfare told me about it. I checked it out, but didn't bother researching it too much until the kickstarter.

Just get rid of all ways to tell friend from foe, then hope you don't kill your teammates as you swing your weapon at everyone in sight.
