It's a small team and they've certainly received hundreds of emails about this issue. They've already revoked many of the erroneous bans. Try to stay patient, if your ban is unjustified, they'll get to it.
Don't have any info on when this is getting released, but here are some images of one of the new maps: https://imgur.com/a/qjdjTa8
You gain gold each match you play, such that it is not local (you also get 2500 gold from the tutorial.) I believe there was a reduction in gold for private servers, but I don't know that it is still present. You need to have gold to buy armor, weapons, and skins, but not perks. When you buy a weapon, piece of armor, or skin, it becomes available for all modes. There is a separate loadout section for battle royale and horde mode, but the purchases carry over. You can currently only have one active set of each tier of armor in horde/BR, but the purchases are permanent. In both horde and BR, you start out wearing tier 0 each match and have to upgrade tiers as you play. Many of the nicer looking unlocks are more expensive and locked behind levels, but if you have a single armor set you want, it is not super difficult to obtain. Splurging and obtaining levels are probably going to be the main bottlenecks on unlocking your armor. If you're playing a match and you don't get any gold, it may be a glitch. It had been happening in the previous patch. Hope that covers everything
The bots are getting more interesting to fight, still a bit bland atm. They're starting to include things like ducking and speaking to make them feel more interactive and less like mindless drones. They're fun to fight in horde mode, but in their current state they'll definitely get stale. I've seen a few threads that have thrown out good ideas for how they can add variety; I can see horde mode becoming very entertaining once some of the ideas are integrated. There has also been dialogue about opening up bot behavior manipulation once the sdk is released, I think the modding community could do some interesting things if they're able to poke around. I'm sure the influx of new players will create demand for better bots, and that the devs or modding community will eventually deliver.
Jax said this few months ago:
"Full SDK if we can. The reason we're not including it for release is because we want to "expose" as much code as possible and make it pretty powerful"
Not super relevant, but you might be interested in Marox's response here:

This is how we should drop into battle royale
I can help design assets for the map if you want
