Controversy over a ban and its fairness, how toxic players can be dealt with, serious discussion. It's all great, but honestly:

Can I just have the choice to disable chat? Sure, it won't stop teamkilling and being a prick in physical presence, but usually wasteland justice deals with that with other people killing the TKer back. The chat is the most toxic part, so let me have the choice to just rid of it. Whether action gets taken afterwards by the relevant moderator or admin is out of your hands anyway. Hell, you want to kill toxicity, you got two choices in my eyes - add a report option so people can be muted willy fucking nilly or remove weapons from the game and make it Fashionhau instead.

It's a competitive game. There are gonna be angry twats occasionally. Let me ignore them and I'd be happy.

You can disable chat already.

You can...?

How long have I been asleep?

Well you can hide it at least. If you choose to type you'll see the chat anyway.

I don't see a problem then. Perhaps if people want to use chat but avoid toxicity we get a mute certain player choice?

Should've used the spangenhelm and leather lamellar cuirass. And long sleeve leather gloves. Leather lamellar skirt would have probably been more fitting too.

Pretty much everything that's black should be brown.

I considered using the spaghethelm but it has the defined eye structure that the one in the reference didn't, so I decided against it. The cuirass was a hard choice as there's a lot of leather and none with any distinctive pattern, so if I'm honest I went for the one I did because the belt looked similar. I get what you mean about the gloves but the leather ones look WAY too smooth in game compared to the segmented gloves in the reference. And the lamellar skirt is about double the length of the one in the picture but has the correct pattern, another hard choice.

...I thought I had made them brown. Welp, thank you eyes.

Can someone make this ?
PS. I hate you all for being able to play this game i would spend days on costumization lol >:(

So I tried to create that guy and...

...you can't really cover the face and head at the same time, especially not with chainmail. No pointy hats yet either, or none that resemble the one in the picture, and the ornate patterns are mostly reserved for plate metal, not leather gambesons. If the colours are off, that's just me being a retard, not the game's limitations.

To add a quick opinion, I don't think arrows need to be nerfed in terms of speed TOO much. I'm not a great player but even I can tell when somebody is about to release an arrow and parry in time, even from close range, with some occasions where I've even managed to parry 4 or 5 arrows in a row while advancing towards the archer firing them. Sure, a little bit of speed wouldn't go amiss but we don't want arrows to become redundant the second they get added to the game.

Well see, you are running 1v1 against an archer then yes. I roll around with a group as most do rapid firing as fast as the recurve can go. Even from a distance i was not missing at all 6 hits non stop with the occasional miss. Adjust slightly from the sway and add a little flick shot and you cant miss.

But in saying this.... alot of the people who hated archers in Chiv are telling me they are much happier now.... MUCH less damage ajd to be able to parry (when you can) seems to have made alot more people alot less salty.

Yes, exactly, perhaps I should have made that clearer in my first post, my bad. I've never seen groups of archers before, they seems to like to spread out to high ground on the map for the advantage. I reckon that as with most things in the game, planning a group to work in with a little bit of tactics for the mix makes for a massively stronger team then an odd mish-mash of people.

One thing I'd like to suggest for the crossbow is to be able to toggle aim with right-click.
This more traditional fps approach would suit it better imo.
It's kind of weird to shoot releasing the left-mouse-button instead of pressing it because crossbow has a trigger mechanism. With the bows it's different because you pull the string and let go, so it's fine as it is.

Not gonna lie, first thing I did when I used the crossbow was right click to try and aim and single clicked with left mouse and accidentally released a bolt into the ground. Consider me confused.

I don't need constant updates on Mordhau's development, but it makes sense to post that info on the forums if the devs are willing to post it elsewhere.

I'd rather not watch Jax's stream, because I don't care for streams much and I won't scroll through the discord because it's time consuming and hard to find info. It makes more sense to make it easily accessible to casual forum dwellers, as everything in Zombie's post was new to me and others here.

I'll second this. I don't watch nearly enough streams to even consider watching a stream purely for potential leaks (especially when I could play the game myself) and in my honest opinion the Discord is both too memey and a little too salty every time I've used it to even consider dipping in for updates. I check the forums every day and close it usually when there are no new posts in the top Announcements section, so I missed even the community update until now.

Attempted to make my 5 favourite Witcher 3 characters, with varying degrees in success.

Geralt:

Lambert:

Crach an Craite:

Vernon Roche:

Gaunter O'Dimm:

It was hard to get Geralt and Lambert right without any options for scarring and I couldn't make Crach look old enough. I'm also colourblind so fuck me I probably messed that all up.

I'd love some sort of progression system in the near future. It would definitely get me playing an awful lot more than I do right now. When I play currently (I get it, it's still Alpha/Beta) there's nothing to do but join the one active server and either duel or do repeated deathmatches. While slicing and dicing is always gonna be fun, after half an hour I feel I've got nowhere and usually quit there. If I was unlocking cool new titles or skins, I'd keep going to the end of days.

'Bash' makes me think of a full-on shoulder barge, which while probably isn't anything like what you're suggesting would be pretty cool. Id love to pile into somebody with my body weight because they thought it was smart to go in for a cheeky kiss.

55 hours! I find it nice to pop in and out the game every now and then for an hour. Usually around 2 hours every patch, but sometimes 3 or 4 if it's a nice content-heavy one.

I'm amazed at the people that have hundreds - that's some commitment!

I personally don't think that a large array of weapons would confuse new players - I think if anything it would invite them in further! I can think of two categories of people and their interaction with the weapon selection off the top of my head:

  • An 'average' casual player, who when starting to play the game will be more pleased to find a greater degree of choice, customization and content than caring about how the stats of each weapon differ. A lot of people will most likely pick weapons on how good they look rather than their base stats and effectiveness initially, and any confusion will likely disappear as they naturally find the weapons they enjoy most that compliment their individual play styles. Having more things for player to instantly jump in and try can never hurt... right?

  • A player with experience in the genre and aiming to 'git gud' quickly and adapt to the current meta rather than slowly/methodically testing every weapon. While the selection may be confusing initially to this category of people (perhaps due to weapons not having the stats you would expect or variations?) I reckon that these people are also more likely to take the time to google or search the forums for the current meta and jump in with it, as they understand that becoming competitive in a game takes longer than a couple of hours.

These are just my thoughts on that small detail, so take with a pinch of salt.

I feel like I should add something here as a casual player, because it seems everyone so far in this thread is fairly experienced already. This update has barely been recognizably different to me compared to any other update apart from the obvious content additions. The game doesn't feel any easier to master, nor does it feel harder. I see myself winning and losing about the same amount of fights as before, and the weapons I usually use feel pretty much untouched, as if I were using them for the last few updates.

I'm not saying any of this to devalue points, quite the opposite - this update has not made the game more casual friendly to a person who would class themselves as casual. I think it would be wrong to suggest it has been dumbed-down to accommodate more players, because Triternion know their majority playerbase. This feels more like an attempt at fixing issues that the majority playerbase say are not changing over updates by introducing radical changes and seeing the reaction.

I feel it would be interesting to see what people think HAS been fixed this update rather than hearing that practically everything is broken, because then we'd know what we've gained from the update.

My bet for an open beta would be at the end of the actual beta - having it any earlier than that point would piss off a fair few people that paid for exclusive access to the game. It would be smart to stress test everything before full release, and who knows, maybe even get a few bugs squashed.

Ya it looks a bit okay, but hey thats "meta" for you. The new updates should rework the animations. Also early on in the video some random people fight iin the server and you could hear a mic saying :1:03-1:09 "we got him". Whats with the level of confidence towards random people in mordhau?

I'm not sure about this anger to be honest. It's one of the things keeping me off multiplayer currently (along with the fact I suck ass against everyone), as you join a server and the chat is either radio silence or random slagging and insults. It seems that someone always has beef with someone else. Maybe because the playing community is so small that it's easier to get angry at the ones that do play with you, but most of it seems non-aggravated. It's not even banter or fight talk, it's just salt, racism and pointless anger.

Fingers crossed that things change on full release.

I believe one of the Kickstarter rewards was to customize a bot and name it yourself. If we were allowed to just use characters we have made and name them ourselves, I don't imagine those who paid to have their own bot would be entirely too happy.

I can get where you're coming from - I pretty much exclusively play with bots now and it would be nice to choose which ones I'm against, especially when I've had enough of being ragged on with a shortsword and want to fight bots with 2-handers. Maybe instead a suitable addition would be to be able to choose which of the current bot roster you want to spawn and how many, instead of only being able to spawn a set number of bots of random variety.
