Only stab drags I hate is the spears alt mode one that goes over your head much like this one. Almost impossible to chamber because of its speed and it animates like a normal stab since its so fast and you don't need to footwork like a z stab.
Dude ffs half the reason most of us played chivalry for thousands of hours was NOT the combat alone. It was the charm and atmosphere you got from sound and storytelling in the maps and getting to 'role play' those sides. We have a living breathing example of an EXTREMELY similar game and what made it replayable. Don't deny something away as if it weren't important when it was HUGE to the games longevity. The lore and sound etc didn't make the cuts because of budget, time and their core goal being combat first. Saying a game doesn't need lore does not add to the conversation and is just a blunt statement. Me and dozens of people on my friends list can attest to these things making us play chivalry for so long. Mordhau does suffer from no lore because why should I care about dudes fighting over a thing because. All humans need direction and context.
While we're at it can we disable collision for stupid small rocks and logs like on Camp so I don't die because I can't lunge forward to target switch.

At this point I don't see why not. My immersion is already destroyed by skinny naked men throwing firepots yelling 'have at them boys' apparently being mercenaries... It's funny and all but fuck me the game already takes you out of it in so many ways you may as well go a bit fantasy with your level designs and armour as long as its not Elder Scrolls level.

Some of my friends have complained about this
They said they decided on Epic games a year ago which looks silly now because of the controversy but I assume they needed the upfront money to make it a proper sequel and not an early access game after Mirage lost them a lot of money. If you slow the clips down in the trailer and that one with the dropkick the combat animations don't look too bad just more weighty which is what you expect from chiv. It's some of the running and holding weapons above head animations that are clearly work in progress. They said it was more of a concept trailer then a show of the combat.
I hated Torn Banner for what they did as much as any other chiv vet but this hoping for games to die is just plain stupid especially if they capture what made the first game great without reverse overheads.
I just want some solid duel and skirmish maps with atmosphere and more importantly SPACE. Frontline maps i can wait longer for.
Suggestion 1- Have billhooks and toolboxes spawn on the ground every few metres.

Maybe if they would rework horses to not be annoying or fuckers would look for a lone singled out kill and not gallop into teamfights I wouldn't be running around with my toolbox and billhook. It still requires more skill then you dudes on a horse and makes me happy when I decimate the horses on crossroads so much that they give up using them. FUCK horses in their current state. Put invisible barriers on stairs so they can't reach ridiculous places and have them be slowed down MUCH more when running into more then one person and you can have your toolbox nerf.
They should make two voices of the same 'type' and split them between the two teams. So another similar to cruel and another similar to foppish etc. That way there is recognisable grunts in combat and a sense of identity for each team without losing the 'type' of voice you like if you pick the other side.
It actually seems worse now
Tbh Crossroads is fun if you run around with a toolbox and billhook but that's it.
