Their communication methods definitely need to change. This is no longer a small alpha playerbase and people get frustrated when none of their concerns may not get addressed until next patch and even then might not which just frustrates a player more. We have no idea what the future of frontline is. Whether it be core mode redesign, sweeping map changes, solutions to annoying things like firebombs and horses. It's just snippets about random stuff from a dev on discord sometimes and no clear HEY this is the direction we want to take for next patch and expect SOMETHING in the way of this though there is no guarantee etc.
If Faetoria is in final phases what does that mean? Will it be soon in another patch or will it come later so the patch has more meat to fill it out with weapon changes and the like. I just have no clue.
God most of your are so damn annoying but i keep reading anyway
Can you please add a simple map like Moor to the game? i feel the effort put into Crossroads would have been better off put into a simple grass map for Skirmish and Duels that has plenty of room for both modes and no stupid pillars or carts in the way. The current maps just don't work as well and feel cramped and i don't feel like dueling or doing skirmish half the time because of that. #highlands2019.
It doesn't matter how prevalent it is just that it's frustrating. I can't just not stand in fire if I don't even hear it behind me.
Related to team colours i'd like to state please add an option to disable team colours for ONLY your team. Say if i'm in a clan and skirmishing another clan and they don't have a uniform, i can disable team colour and my clans colours show and the enemies stay red or blue which will reduce team damage and also help customisation for both teams. If a team decides to not have a uniform they can stay red or blue, but if they do they can have one and keep the other team all coloured as well.
Grad really isn't fun once you look into it. Last objective is meh as hell despite being a castle siege... yet also not being a castle siege. It's just too small and clunky especially with the horses and the cata always firing onto the objective. The stairs leading up to the last capture point is only like 1 person wide.. in a game that's 48p-64p. You also get stuck on the buildable defenses if you fight near the stables, the one also near the stairs.
Are you guys fighting the same spear as me? as long as they aren't a day 1 noob they can just poke insanely fast and you can't switch to them. No punishment for playing the weapon unless all of your team die and it's just you. Don't even need to read feints half the time.
I am currently burned out as Front line is a mess and all maps besides camp seem to be badly designed. I can only do duels and scrims on occasion because of said bad maps. I also have issues with 1vX so scrims only get me so far before I get annoyed that's it's just 1v1s with switching. For me to get passion back I need WAY better maps and a sound/atmosphere overhaul.
The DPS is more of an issue because you can't hear it land behind you in a fight imo. Regardless of that it could use a slight nerf. Maybe buff it's damage if it lands directly on a player to make up for it.
Right now i cannot have fun in this game unless i am dueling or scrimming. I have SO many problems with this game compared to chiv. Bravo on the combat but literally everything else just burns me out of the game so fast.
Why are the maps so small and claustrophobic, did you design them for chiv 24p TO or something? SO many chokepoints 24/7
Relating to point 1, why is there collision on literally everything like small rocks, logs on the ground so spaces are even SMALLER? i should not be getting stuck on things in what seems like an open area where team fights are supposed to happen
Relating to both point 1 and 2, why have so many mechanics been implemented with no thought to them and how it makes the maps play even WORSE. Engineers are a blight with ballistas as they find the most cancer spots possible to set up and just keep clicking, fire pots are too spammable and make a clustered space even smaller with no punishment or basically any cool down on their ability to do it again. I don't even need to talk about horses for people to know my frustration with them as they need a huge rework and people have suggested many fixes. Horses do not belong on any of these maps except maybe camp due to its size, and they should not be allowed to access EVERY part of the map.
Relating to engineer ballistas, if you won't remove buildable ballistas at least make the model some what smaller so archers have an easier time sniping them from a distance instead of it being a full frontal shield unless you hit the EXACT pixel. The engineer had to do fuck all to build it while the archer works hard to even get him off it.
Spears are the most annoying thing to fight in Frontline especially in gank squads and i can't figure out if it's their sheer reach or speed but i feel it should at least be looked at as they seem to be able to stab me after i've just started a riposte off them and am switching target. Maybe it's because of the fast stab PLUS it already starting inside you whereas with other weapons you have that extra second to parry after you land your hit on the switch. Sometimes it makes me miss trading as you could punish gamblers who just kept attacking with a nice wack to the face but the 1v1 and team play in competitive combat is better off without it.
Once again i will emphasise maps. I hope you plan to rework most of them to be larger or fix all these other points or i feel Frontline just won't ever be worth playing. If there are horses on the new maps roaming around city streets with no fixes the novelty of a new map will wear off fast. Make maps that are designed with horses in mind, and some with none at all. This will keep the game feeling fresh and like you get a break from constant spam every few maps or so.
Sound is pretty barebones atm and needs a huge overhaul, not just small fixes and additions. I hope you look to chivalry for this as they have a load of sound files you can look at to see just how they did things so sound was like a radar that every player could use to be aware of their surroundings.
The maps for duels and skirmish as well do not fit very well which is surprising since they're pretty simple formulas. Not enough room to spread out and there's random obstacles everywhere for duels in servers with any more then like 12 players.
Generally i'm pretty chill with this game but what is supposed to be the main mode is actually just a clusterfuck of random mechanics in maps not designed for said mechanics and player counts and the other maps are sub-par when compared to chivalry and i hope they get some love too not just the main mode maps.
I sucked at reading feints in chiv but there are days in Mordhau where I'm like a brick wall to feints and morphs which shows that they are readable here. You need to be calm and chill or your brain will make you right click anything on sight.
Oh fuck off. If horses are not fair and have a lot of issues in even casual play of course they would sit out on competitive. You can call comp players small minded but they have obviously learned from chivs OP archers that just letting it stay is not a good idea in a competitive environment. I have played 6v6 comp frontline without horses and it was insanely fun strategising pushes and holds without a 1 shot machine roaming the map.
Lol there are ways to not be punished for feints but bad feints will always be punished
Yeah but it's annoying is all I'm sayin'. Zwei seems to have no downsides besides lel less armour.
Some accelerated stabs like the zwei can start in you giving you no time to chamber and your dumb head will try it anyway.
Is this whole calling everyone who disagrees with you a Nazi a European thing or an American thing? Jesus christ
If chivalry 2 does not contain a sufficient amount of chiv, al, and ry then I am done.
We missed you
I agree the main competitive mode should be a respawn based one as the viewers can see the 'flow' of a match much easier.
LTS style will never work because people die too fast to catch the action and it's not as exciting as seeing someone clutch an objective. Clutching an LTS round is just that, another round after what looked like spam to the viewers. The matches already go fast enough without people not being able to regen.
Objective respawn based modes allow for more tatical plays and time for the viewers to 'sync' with what's happening. Not to mention it's way more fun then skirmish.
Removing regen for competitive skirmish is a moot point right now as it may not end up as the competitive mode, and I hope it doesn't or the comp scene will not last long I assure you.
