I still don't see why 1-2 hires isn't possible but OK. There's also bigger reasons for the drop off as lots of vets are quitting too so it's none of that niche or natural drop off stuff.
Lol no-one said it wouldn't come out at all
Community can't decide what excuse is real to use for the devs slow progress. First it's they quit their jobs to work on this game now and they're a small dedicated indie team and then it's oh they still have to work their jobs thats why it's slow. Then it's excusing the fall off of players because the game is a 'niche' but that doesn't explain predominantly chiv veterans quitting the game as well because it's just not fun. Reality is this full release game is still being treated like an alpha whatever product and not investing money back into that product doesn't shine a bright future for it. By the time it is fully fleshed out (if they even stick around that long) how many players will even be left.
They just need to hire one experienced guy for level design and contract a sound guy to flesh out the sound like chiv did with all its unique weapon parry and hit sounds and background atmosphere. That's it. No massive hires and structure changes or making a big AAA team. Just key hires that boost the game in the areas it is lacking. I guarantee you even if Feitoria is detailed and cool it still won't be fun for long as it will feel 'empty'. If you want to compare and see how much abit of sound can make a map better go stand in battlegrounds in chiv then go stand in ANY map in mordhau.
You know your games slowing down when the entertaining shitposts even come to a stop
I've accepted the game will not go anywhere lol. I have more hope in chivalry 2 now then I do this game being fleshed out any time soon.
Well it was a niche I fit into and I still left because the game is BORING. So did multiple clanmates and even a few content creators.
How is Feitoria not done yet jesus christ. It feels like i stopped playing this game months ago and it's exactly the same.
They need bigger epic, better designed maps and an atmospheric sound overhaul. Only that will make a big player mode fun and engaging.
They can't even add a map that's been in the making for centuries like Feitoria, and all the other ones are sub-par. I'll be genuinely surprised if they get to it before a year has passed.
I get 100-120 ping on officials now instead of 16-30 lmao
Make mordhau a team game already and solve all of this
Shots 1-5: Clearly missed.
Shots 6-9: Missed due to recoil (bad spray control).
Shots 10-11: Very close, but recoil and inaccuracy make these reasonable misses.
I've personally moved onto pubg with a few others and will only open Mordhau every week for one small session to see how things are changing. I just got too bored and frustrated even as a passionate backer. The game still needs a full year or two years of changing and overhauling to reach its proper potential in the genre and I just don't know if it will get that treatment.
Please hire a sound guy holy hell. Mordhau is BORING right now and i guarantee half of the problems with the maps and game wouldn't be as bad if there was an interesting soundscape and each map was unique in its atmosphere. Hell even the parry sound is crap. I get you don't want to hire devs and use your money but sound is a key aspect of games that seems to be just being neglected here. Funny voices is not sound design. ALL the maps will feel the same regardless of how they look or how much effort you put into them because it feels like you're just playing in a stock UE4 map with pretty assets not an actual location with its own feel.
If you can't see why fleshwound was an issue then I suggest you stick to your Frontline safe zone. It was actively ruining competitive.
Yeah some of us paid hundreds because we liked the developers vision after coming from chivalry. To see it in its current state is disappointing.
From what I've seen from Chivalry 2 it looks 'choppy' because they want everything more readable instead of Mordhaus weird fucking neutral oversmoothed animations that are hard to read and makes the meta boring. Replacing that depth with more attack options. They also said they want a focus on 1vX which coming from Mordhau would be a breath of fresh air. Chivalry 2 may not be a great competitive game but we all know it will be more FUN then Mordhau in a hop on and play aspect. Even Mirage was more fun and had more soul it just had no players and wasn't expansive enough to beat Chivalry. I disliked TBs decisions as much as any other chivalry player but people pointing at animations that look fine to me is weak. I have more hope for Chivalry 2 then I do Mordhau at the moment.
Oh and off subject those shield changes better be actual shield changes and not just tiny kick range adjustments and shit.
Chiv 2 looking better and better lads
I mean he's not wrong that chambers cause a mess of a game. Every mechanic has been tied together so much from a 1v1 environment that untangling that to change the meta to a healthier one or help team fights is a big fucking task. You can play it to git gud and just ignore it all but I find it even less fun then competitive chiv in its current state. The only satisfaction I get is hard reading feints, THATS IT. Landing hits feels crap cos it's either an insider or a neutral almost impossible to read drag with no inbetween. Dodging is already somewhat too easy because of gimped turn caps. Literally trying to change any of this will just wreak havoc on other mechanics. Chambers are also partially responsible for the spammy gambling playstyle we see everywhere. People are encouraged to just keep inputting all the time because chambers buff your defence with offense.
