Yeah some of us paid hundreds because we liked the developers vision after coming from chivalry. To see it in its current state is disappointing.
From what I've seen from Chivalry 2 it looks 'choppy' because they want everything more readable instead of Mordhaus weird fucking neutral oversmoothed animations that are hard to read and makes the meta boring. Replacing that depth with more attack options. They also said they want a focus on 1vX which coming from Mordhau would be a breath of fresh air. Chivalry 2 may not be a great competitive game but we all know it will be more FUN then Mordhau in a hop on and play aspect. Even Mirage was more fun and had more soul it just had no players and wasn't expansive enough to beat Chivalry. I disliked TBs decisions as much as any other chivalry player but people pointing at animations that look fine to me is weak. I have more hope for Chivalry 2 then I do Mordhau at the moment.
Oh and off subject those shield changes better be actual shield changes and not just tiny kick range adjustments and shit.

I mean he's not wrong that chambers cause a mess of a game. Every mechanic has been tied together so much from a 1v1 environment that untangling that to change the meta to a healthier one or help team fights is a big fucking task. You can play it to git gud and just ignore it all but I find it even less fun then competitive chiv in its current state. The only satisfaction I get is hard reading feints, THATS IT. Landing hits feels crap cos it's either an insider or a neutral almost impossible to read drag with no inbetween. Dodging is already somewhat too easy because of gimped turn caps. Literally trying to change any of this will just wreak havoc on other mechanics. Chambers are also partially responsible for the spammy gambling playstyle we see everywhere. People are encouraged to just keep inputting all the time because chambers buff your defence with offense.
It's at the point where I'd almost rather reverse overheads over these instant attacks and unreadable drags. I could at least reliably parry reverses in chiv by reading body movement and easily parry drags. Here everything is always so neutral looking. I think things should be readable and the skill should be changed into team fights where the pressure will make everything less readable in a natural way. Trying to keep the 1v1 ceiling high and the focus will only lead to things staying unreadable and people will just stop caring.
Yeah I've come close to uninstalling because I'm frustrated with the combat and I have no good casual mode to play to get away from competitive. If updates are going to always take this long I think I might end up just moving on if Chiv 2 or something else comes along. Possibly pubg.
I'd like to see horsemen get ejected if their couched weapon collides with objects lol.

I already die enough in 1vX because little creatures just spam and occasionally make me clash and in doing so the time it takes to cancel kills me. I'd rather that not become a core part of the game when the game is spammy enough as it is.
Feints are completely fine, and this is coming from someone who couldn't read them at all in chivalry. I can hard read pretty much any feint so I'll only fall for them if they time it well with a good mix up and body movement. Spamming them with body movement is just as ineffective at high level as standing still and feinting is at intermediate level. If you calm down and focus on your reading you can go far, unless it's a bastard sword of course.
If they make changes to feints and punishing them is more consistent i think people who play like tards will be destroyed easier instead of bobbing up and down and gambling so the problem should sort itself out eventually. Swing manipulation itself can always be fine tuned, or at least i hope.
I like: the groundwork for the combat as it has more potential then chiv
I don't like: the current implementation of drags and accels that are as fast if not faster then reverses and drags where you can't see wtf it's doing because of limited fov and things looking more 'neutral'.
5v5 is cancer TBH. But I agree they should push it as a team game and not 1v1 drag accel simulator.
I agree some of the fucked up ones need to go. There are so many insta attacks and drags that don't look right that's it's kinda off-putting even coming from almost 3k hours in chiv. I like drags and accels but I don't want to play a game of insta hits and delays that dont match up to what you see again, I'd rather just not play melee if it's going to repeat chiv like that.

Duelyard and Arena have promise but Arenas lighting is unplayable. Duelyard needs to scale some things down that are ridiculously huge. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PEOPLE, BUILD YOUR LIGHTING. Also thank you for maps.
Oh you sweet summer child. It's more playable then chiv ever was at high pings and even at 16 ping there's some things I cannot parry which are probably the same things that get you.
Shaman is a top player and can fight against all of that. Fast attacks are virtually the same up to 80 ping. I have 16 ping and sometimes fail to parry the same things that catch high ping players, it's just the game and peoples brains working against them.

Imo camp SHOULD be a night rainy map. The dull greyish green it has atm is boring as hell. Even the Chiv 2 trailer did it well in the forest/castle map. That being said shadows are way too dark In interiors so maybe they just suck at lighting right now.
