I don't think an animation overhaul is as simple as you think lol. I also believe that all those other bits of content would be held back until they fix these core issues anyhow. Patches will take longer as they are tackling the more tricky problems now, I'm sure the art guys have been working away in the background as well. Coming from my own experience in regards to maps, it's very hard to know when good enough is good enough. We already know they are perfectionists so I bet they struggle with this issue as well, even releasing the current alpha maps wasnt probably ideal in their heads.
You can sort of reliably force clashes by feinting your chambers and stab feinting at a distance, the opponent will either try to counter chamber you or take initiative with an attack anyway and you can lean back and stab into their attack, starting the chamber exchange.
This works best if you use faster weapons like a Longsword or Bastard Sword but anything with a decent stab will do with the right distance. This gets more intense if you have two players who understand how forcing them works, can duke each other out and get around them with mind games. I have been having a lot of fun forcing clash exchanges with Trix and some clan mates, after a while it doesn't feel forced anymore and becomes apart of your play style and helps you combat bigger weapons like the Eveningstar because you have the advantage of speed in the exchange.
Prequels had their flaws but were definitely good cinema and you could see the effort George put into making the universe larger and more epic.
I get that they just turn into spazz wars but they are off topic tbh
Nah overheards to the foot are just as bad, very hard to stop yourself from doing them though
it's a temporary halloween update
Just not very good English, seems like a smart dude though
Phew not just me
This patch feels significantly worse than the last. Nobody seems to be able to play consistently and are getting caught by simple chambers and ripostes.
EDIT: Not sure if it was due to my connection at the time or the actual patch, will do more testing.
It's very effective at beating even skilled players also, I have a background of almost 3k hours in chivalry and it pissed me off pretty fast so i worry if left unattended it could become abit meta by release and will drive away all the new players much like reverse overheads did. It does not look like fighting nor does it feel good or fair, just being cheesed and your only way to fight back is to cheese as well. I am hoping the new animations they are working on resolve this in some way but i don't think that alone will stop people aiming at the feet and accelerating as a playstyle.
I really cannot get into new builds when players just turn up and accelerate at your feet the whole fight and it's a gamble whether you can parry anything because you're trying to chamber attacks that can't be and in general trying to play normal while they spaz out and try and break the tracers. Delay dragging is fine but jesus the speeds on weapons vary so wildly it's impossible to tell at a glance whether something can interrupt your current action. Like starting a kick and then they have time to start an lmb and drag it into you before your kick lands, what's the god damn point of counter kicking if a fricking eveningstar can just beat it anyway.
I work a night/day job and weekends, check M8. So I get on at weird ass times, same as those who remain in my clan.
Invite old chiv friends to come play, easy. That's how I play with 5-7 people
You all just essentially keep calling anyone of an opposing opinion idiots. What the fuck do you think it's going to achieve dudes.
Lol please. Like we can take people calling others Nazibois seriously. You may have made a point here and there but your uncontrolled immigration idea is not good for anyone no matter how you put it. Der Furst does avoid some points at times but I honestly think it's because he's tired of debating stupid common sense things and being called a Nazi.
You try to say no offense it's not your fault we are drawn towards charisma etc. Do you ever think we actually break down Der Fursts points and others in our heads then mostly agree with him a lot. Fuck you for saying we're sheep essentially then trying to say ooooh but it's not your fault. I don't post here in length as I don't get a lot of time and don't want to start paragraph wars.
They are in a good spot now, I can't chamber everything but I can chamber more than I could before and it FEELS good now. Already having some exciting fights with the better players.
Yeah i agree it's slowly feeling better now. Only really wonky accels and undercuts that are annoying me now. I can also chamber abit more now assuming they don't accelerate it to instant. The movement in general feels so much better now somehow and reminds me of how i felt running around fluently in chiv.
Hey guysz, drunk Goatie who has work in 4 hours here. Jus want to let you know I love you all no matter your political views!!!
Well Chiv had content and a fairly accepted meta plus it was many of our first rodeos so it felt magical. Right now Mordhau has glaring flaws and no content. I and many others I know are waiting for the next major update and animations to be changed because right now the fights just remind me of chivalry with constant footdrags and abusing accelerations more than actually having a varied enjoyable fight.
I stopped playing chivalry due to the feint spam+instant attack punish meta so not much reason I would play Mordhau if it's the same currently. Good game just has a ways to go.
