Polehammer is just a type of polaxe to be honest, and a very common one at that.

I aged the bluing a little bit so it looks more inline with the "Final assets" pictures that are displayed on the kickstarter page.
Hopefully it's good enough for the mordhau nobility

just a quick FYI: war axe is the result of the double axe head being removed from the battle axe set, reason behind was basically that there were no tracers on the second blade so we recieved some complaints of "ghost hitting". We removed that specific head but its popularity remained. We came up with this war axe category where I can portray some of the historical double axe examples out there. Current skin is an asymetrical double axe found in Crimea, altho theres not much more info about it since I've only seen one guy documenting them and it's in russian language but they certainly caught my interest. As of we speak, I'm developing a war axe set with symetrical double bladed heads, 2 of them norse inspired and last one will probably be inspired by another finding in crimea.

Customizing a fourth color is not a possibility.

Why is this a dilemma? Will Unreal Tournament explode? Will the FPS drop to 0?

I'm sure most people are thinking "just do some colors it can't that hard." I'd genuinely like to know why this is a problem from a technical perspective, and if it is a problem, why changing the tint areas to enable the engraved part to be tinted would be bad. I don't think anyone really cares about customizing every little piece of the crossguard as much as the huge decoration on the sword.

It's a problem with optimization and goes against all the work marox and elwebbaro did to reduce draw calls towards 64p gamemodes, 3 is the maximum color because they get taken from a single map wich has 3 channels (RGB). Really if you wanna know more about it you should go sign up to a game dev college and stop questioning every single sentence I write because Im getting super tired of discussions that go in circles and I'm just not gonna bother responding on the forums anymore if this is how you guys adress communication. If you won't take my word for it then I guess my existance here is pointless. Just vote or don't.

Guys you are being too ridiculous... You didn't buy a custom sword just for you. You were rewarded with the patroni sword for being extra nice and pledging more money to fund Mordhau wich we profoundly appreciate. I need to remind you that there's approximately 600+ ppl with access to this gift. Customizing a fourth color is not a possibility. Removing an other tint option would be, quoting some of you, "false advertising".

Blue was one of the most valued colors of medieval times fyi, a nobleman rejecting blue is the equivalent of rejecting a Mercedes now-a-days.

It's not out of place to demand or request aging back on the bluing so it gets darker but I'm going to need more than just a few lads asking for it otherwise it's just unfair for everyone. Would be just easier if you would just accept there's a founded reason behind it and appreciate the thought process and investigation behind but I'm willing to change it if more than half of the owners feel like having it darker. To make it easy just comment below "dark" or "light" or "I don't care". Make sure you have your title assigned so I can see that you own the gift.

Cheers

The blue it's not because it's a paint or anything like that, it's actually a chemichal substance used in metals to prevent them from rusting and some other kinds of metal weathering. Think about it as a varnish for steel. Having it in other colors wouldn't make any justice to this technique and the people who came up with it many, many years ago. A technique still used on today's firearms btw (with some minor changes)

Why it was dark blue (not black) in the first place? original reference:

grabat4.jpg this sword is about 500 years old, give or take. The blueing it's aged, originally it was blue. Kickstarter sword isn't supposed to be 500 year old in mordhau, in fact I wanted it to look more pristine than anything. So I corrected the color when I discover this later references
