Braining people with the mace is very satisfying. The halberd is pretty robust, too.

Depends on the spike, area, and material hit.

I'd say a knife would beat 2h in a real fight if we imagine the fighters wore regular clothing instead of full plate armor.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Knives/daggers on a battlefield are either:

  1. A last resort when you've lost your primary (and secondary) weapon.
  2. A niche weapon for tight spaces, heavy presses, or grappling on the ground.
  3. A finishing/hostage tool when your opponent's down and you can mount them.

Since this game doesn't appear to have grappling, a 'downed'/execution system, or advanced body collision, knives should really only be useful for tight corridors or as a last resort. The notion of the lightly armored rogue going toe to toe with the big sword is fantasy nonsense.

Hope we get some pikes to deal with that cavalry.

Interesting perspective considering most people are worried that heavy armor will be overpowered.

Agreed. If heavy armor increases your survivability dramatically with only minor consequences, I sometimes wonder why many competitive melee games even bother offering lighter armors at all (beyond cosmetics).
