Shashka

"The Shashka (Adyghe: Сэшхуэ /IPA: [saʃxʷa]/ - big knife, Russian: (Шашка)) is a special kind of sabre; a very sharp, single-edged, single-handed, and guardless sword. In appearance, the shashka is midway between a full sabre and a straight sword. It has a slightly curved blade, and can be effective for both slashing and thrusting. The blade is either hollowed or fullered. There is no guard, but a large, curved pommel. The hilt is frequently highly decorated. Shashkas from the Caucausus, as opposed to Russian versions, are carried in a wooden scabbard that encloses part of the hilt. It is worn with the cutting edge to the rear, opposite to the sabre."

The Shaska is dope! Especially since it fits the time period perfectly, and would be an awesome fit for the messer/falchion category.

I'd loooove to make a Russian character with a bardiche and one of these <3

You see those warriors from Hammerfell? They’ve got curved swords. Curved. Swords.

She's prolly fat as fuck by now, so ye, possibly like my mum.
Or dead. Then she'd be skinny as fuck. Unless she's a bloated, decomposing corpse in the sea.

Jokes aside, how about pikes? REAL long pikes.

REAL long pikes.

Really long pikes can only be used effectively in formations, which is nearly impossible in a game like Mordhau. Moreover, pike is unflexible and doesn't fit Mordhau's theme. Long pikes is more of a battlefield weapon, while Mordhau is about mercs shanking each other in tight corners of castles with longswords and pollaxes. Spear is already enough, having anything longer would be hillariously useless and dumb

Pikes with the mechanics of this game would be ultra cancer and look very dumb. You'd be able to stab people with the shaft instantly, or stab people from 15-20 ft away from you. You'd essentially have a melee version of a hitscan sniper rifle that also doubles as a shotgun at close range. Absolutely not.

Unless they have their own separate mechanics and properties, they would not work well.
