Triternion's official statement in regards to recent events

For something that was “decided shortly after launch and in internal discussions”, you sure took your time to communicate it to your player base, despite acknowledging the large number of discussions on the topic. Why is it that we hear about decisions like this only after a coordinated PR attack by online activists? I'm calling a cave in.

Mods will fix it I suppose, but this is the last time I'm buying a game on release that doesn't have complete development transparency.

What? Read their kickstarter

The gender toggle thing was poorly handled. It was not long ago that you guys were saying it was basically confirmed. Still, good job not backing down in the face of this nonsense and good job with this statement.

Now nerf javelins, fix shields, remove crossroads, add female characters AND MAKE ME AN ADMIN

What're you stupid lmao, or just wearing your love-goggles? They're backing down, look at how they talked about "toxicity". Overwatch esque censoring here we come. No, a myraid of ways to mute players wasn't enough. Fucking hell.

What the fuck are you talking about lmao

"In regards to community toxicity, we do not have prior experience managing communities of this size, nor the manpower or resources that established studious can leverage. Our team consists of 11 first-time developers working remotely and volunteer moderators who try their best to curb this toxicity and behavior across all platforms, including in-game. At the moment we are stretched thin with major important content additions and unfortunately we do not have the staff nor systems in-place to moderate everything to our intended level of standards. We plan on improving in this regard."

Since they still haven't specified what they consider toxic and what not, you have no reason to be more afraid than anyone else.

These "Gaming journalists" are online activists, not journalists the same with their mainstream counterparts. They are applying pressure to the devs with lies and swarms of articles to push their agenda, it's obvious and nothing new with have not seen out of them they've been doing it for years now. They have no power other than what is given to them and people think they have. they are basically blogging activists role-playing as journalists.

"RULE 1: “Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have.”

Power is derived from 2 main sources – money and people. “Have-Nots” must build power from flesh and blood. (These are two things of which there is a plentiful supply. Government and corporations always have a difficult time appealing to people, and usually do so almost exclusively with economic arguments.)

RULE 2: “Never go outside the expertise of your people.”

It results in confusion, fear and retreat. Feeling secure adds to the backbone of anyone. (Organizations under attack wonder why radicals don’t address the “real” issues. This is why. They avoid things with which they have no knowledge.)

RULE 3: “Whenever possible, go outside the expertise of the enemy.”

Look for ways to increase insecurity, anxiety and uncertainty. (This happens all the time. Watch how many organizations under attack are blind-sided by seemingly irrelevant arguments that they are then forced to address.)

RULE 4: “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.”

If the rule is that every letter gets a reply, send 30,000 letters. You can kill them with this because no one can possibly obey all of their own rules. (This is a serious rule. The besieged entity’s very credibility and reputation is at stake, because if activists catch it lying or not living up to its commitments, they can continue to chip away at the damage.)

RULE 5: “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.”

There is no defense. It’s irrational. It’s infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions. (Pretty crude, rude and mean, huh? They want to create anger and fear.)

RULE 6: “A good tactic is one your people enjoy.”

They’ll keep doing it without urging and come back to do more. They’re doing their thing, and will even suggest better ones. (Radical activists, in this sense, are no different that any other human being. We all avoid “un-fun” activities, and but we revel at and enjoy the ones that work and bring results.)

RULE 7: “A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag.”

Don’t become old news. (Even radical activists get bored. So to keep them excited and involved, organizers are constantly coming up with new tactics.)

RULE 8: “Keep the pressure on. Never let up.”

Keep trying new things to keep the opposition off balance. As the opposition masters one approach, hit them from the flank with something new. (Attack, attack, attack from all sides, never giving the reeling organization a chance to rest, regroup, recover and re-strategize.)

RULE 9: “The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.”

Imagination and ego can dream up many more consequences than any activist. (Perception is reality. Large organizations always prepare a worst-case scenario, something that may be furthest from the activists’ minds. The upshot is that the organization will expend enormous time and energy, creating in its own collective mind the direst of conclusions. The possibilities can easily poison the mind and result in demoralization.)

RULE 10: “If you push a negative hard enough, it will push through and become a positive.”

Violence from the other side can win the public to your side because the public sympathizes with the underdog. (Unions used this tactic. Peaceful [albeit loud] demonstrations during the heyday of unions in the early to mid-20th Century incurred management’s wrath, often in the form of violence that eventually brought public sympathy to their side.)

RULE 11: “The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative.”

Never let the enemy score points because you’re caught without a solution to the problem. (Old saw: If you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem. Activist organizations have an agenda, and their strategy is to hold a place at the table, to be given a forum to wield their power. So, they have to have a compromise solution.)

RULE 12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.”

Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions. (This is cruel, but very effective. Direct, personalized criticism and ridicule works.)"

Every single one of these rules are being used. We aren't blind to it. mainly 1, 5, 8, 9, and 12.

Every single one of these rules are being used. We aren't blind to it. mainly 1, 5, 8, 9, and 12.

RULE 1: You shall not misuse the report feature. If the post in question does not violate the rules below, leave it be.

RULE 2:You shall be welcoming to the new members of our community.

RULE 3: You shall not display any sort of prejudiced hatred or vitriol.

RULE 4: You shall not spam. Mordhau related memes in small quantities are fine.

RULE 5: You shall avoid political discussions.

RULE 6: You shall not post any kind of pornographic content.

RULE 7: You shall not create more than one account.

RULE 8: You shall not impersonate other users.

RULE 9: You shall not engage in witch hunts.

RULE 10: You shall not post NSFW content.

RULE 11: Matters such as ban appeals should be discussed in private messages. Public ban appeal threads will be deleted/locked.

Every single rule is broken by them. We are not blind to it! (Just tired of it.) Mainly 3, 5 and 9.

haha, this thread is a right barrel of laughs.

For me the solution is as simple as:

  1. Don't want to read toxic/racist/sexist/whatever stuff in chat, then mute people or hide the chat.

  2. A report system would be nice to report overly toxic players & trolls, & after x reports the player gets looked into. Recordings/screenshots as evidence would probably be needed.

  3. Having the ability to actually scroll the score board & right click on players to issue a report/initiate a votekick would make things a whole lot simpler.

  4. The voteklck message should be hidden from the person who is getting votekicked or at least the name of the person issuing the votekick should not be shown - though a reason message would be nice.

@NikolaiLudovik based on how people are acting here & responding to not wanting x or y in the game because it will spoil their immersion or some shite, it probably will happen - even if it's just for the memes or whatever other reason.

Me, I don't care if they put men, women, dwarfs, furries, or different ethnicities into the game. I'm playing for the gameplay, not to go around getting people to do twirls so I can inspect their character/cosmetic choices. Who has the time to give two fucks about what the other players that are trying to hack you to pieces or cave your head in looks/sounds like? Having said that, I would really really appreciate it if the devs could put the character voice over lines on a separate volume channel so that we can turn those down or mute them entirely as I'm getting tired of listening to idiots constantly spamming voice lines or the battlecry one after the other throughout the entire match.

Look at BFV. I love battlefield, but now even the famous Battlefield youtuber are losing their faith.
You can't even say a word in the chat.

The game literally censored me for saying : Can someone repair the tank please ?
Like really.

People are simple, they don't want female in a WW2 game even if some rifle we use were never used, even if the game is not meant to be realist or whatever.

People just want a good game. I've some black friend who play Mordhau and don't mind playing a white character.
(who care they wear armor lol).

Maybe we could add female, but it shouldn't be a taboo.
Anyway, media will always be happy about making dramas. They're just pointing some trollish discussion on these forum or 3 people saying stupid things in general chat of a 64 player game.

If they add female I would like they add female warrior and not just female.
