Mordhau

Developers it is long passed time for an ETA on.... anything

It's called an estimate because you should have a general window of time in your heads for when you'll expect to be done.... whatever it is you're doing. Maybe share that with us?

We have no idea if it (whatever it is) is going to be tomorrow or next year, and i am beginning to suspect the latter is more likely.

knowing the devs they have no idea when what they are working will be finished either.

Their communication methods definitely need to change. This is no longer a small alpha playerbase and people get frustrated when none of their concerns may not get addressed until next patch and even then might not which just frustrates a player more. We have no idea what the future of frontline is. Whether it be core mode redesign, sweeping map changes, solutions to annoying things like firebombs and horses. It's just snippets about random stuff from a dev on discord sometimes and no clear HEY this is the direction we want to take for next patch and expect SOMETHING in the way of this though there is no guarantee etc.

If Faetoria is in final phases what does that mean? Will it be soon in another patch or will it come later so the patch has more meat to fill it out with weapon changes and the like. I just have no clue.

From my perspective, the devs don't know what to do next. The game success was a surprise indeed... Lack of planning and maybe the will to assimilate more members to the team not existing, alongside inexperience, seems to be the answer for this catastrophic post release dying-status.

The dilemma, although ,proves to be really challenging...

Make more maps and gamemodes along side modding tools to capture more casuals for a little longer.

Or

Invest the time into making the competitive scenario better, targeting the resources to a even smaller, but loyal, group.

Either way, the playerbase will decline.

It could have been a lot smoother tho... 50%+ player count loss.

Triternion doesn't know how to estimate things.

Seems like the developers got caught like a deer in headlights with Mordhau's surprise success.

Beginning to seriously worry if there will even be a community left by next year.

We're really bad with timelines, we thought the game would originally come out in march 2018 - we're working on some things (new maps, ranked, etc) and they're nearing completion. We'd like to give more concrete estimates but it's hard without layers of project management and staff, as it stands at the moment we've got 9 devs all working remotely.

Why not use some of the millions you guys got to hire a bigger team? You couldn't have possibly blown it all on hookers and blow just yet.

The 20million+ ALL went to their 9 mortgages? I find that unlikely

I'll project manage for you. Team of 9? EZ mode engaged.

The devs really need to step up their game in terms of communication about the progress of the game. I had the assumption that the lack of communication during the alpha would wear away once the game made its full release. Reflecting back on it made it seem rather nieve of me to think of such a thing. Dev Blogs help please do them. No-one knows the direction the game is going at the moment. You can't expect that the people could simply educate themselves by mindlessly scouring the forums, discord, and reddit for tangible information. A bloody roadmap for the year with goals you seek to achieve would be reassuring for current and potential players. I love the game but it hurts me when the only source of information is scattered across multiple social media platforms with no-one concentrated place to view the progress of the game. People will think negatively of the silence giving people the false assumption of inactivity towards the development of the game for the future without such information/communication.

Assuming you already have at least the occasional Discord session with the other devs for a status update, the only missing link here would be a community forum manager.

If you don't have one yet, hire one.
If you already have one, fire him/her.

I'm sure you'll even find plenty of people right here on this forum if you make an announcement asking for a select few part-time volunteer community managers - basically just standard moderators you'll include in your weekly dev Discord session.

Shit, that is awkward.

Hire more.

I'm sure the team is working hard but all their work is for not if their pr is so garbage nobody appreciates what they're doing.

I don't expect them to understand what the player-base wants and where it's at, they are busy as fuck and have no time to think about seemingly minor population issues, and with no experience to tell them how to communicate safely and effectively with millions of people I get why they think it's safer to stay quiet, but assuming communication and interaction isn't important in 2019 is a big mistake. Especially when the game is "fully released" while only halfway through a kickstarter roadmap.

I'm not trying to just bash the devs cause I'm angry, I'm trying to help them understand what I think they need to do to give their game a better chance, and imo that'd be PR.

IMO Devs (community manager) should probe the community for members who are enthusiastic about setting up promotional events and tourneys and shit. And then use your pedestal to promote them. This costs you nothing and any kind of outreach to the community I think would help matters.

Are moderation tools for official servers in the immediate future?

He says right to the sitting community manager.
